headcanon | intellect  &  personality

the hive has a particular construction to order and functionality . every bee and drone has a place among status to keep a ship sailing smoothly , and most do not do it better than the kytinn . law is not so much a dominating aspect to the hive , as it is very rare a kytinn would step outside of its role for any reason . they have a natural order and they adhere to it . a democratic society where if the majority of kytinn believe a role needs to be changed or improved , they collectively vote on it . the kytinn are many that work perfectly as one . arnyek is a realm far outside other realms , almost immaculately hidden to outsiders to find .  an archipelago realm , it homes kytinns of all sorts with a multitude of hives among the islands . the civilization on arnyek is primitive compared to other realms , lacking modern weapons , technologies and defenses . the reasons why shao kahn had easily been able to defeat arnyek and its inhabitants . whilst small necessary fights would break out in the hives periodically , the kytinn knew nothing of war or battle on large world dominating scales . kytinn are a species of solitutde , everything they could ever need was on arnyek . they did not exist to the worlds until their defeat to shao . kytinn had no reason to fight beyond a level of aggression they knew , because they never sought it out . d’vorah’s ‘freedom’ from execution or slavery was her plea to benefit shao as a political adversary , as politics were all she knew . d’vorah was not a warrior when defeated nor captured . and her knowledge of the world outside arnyek was little . between the events of arnyek’s defeat and her rise in political status , d’vorah has studied , developed , and learned the vast amount of knowledge she has simply from interactions , reading ( which she had to learn / depending on language ) , and observations . though d’vorah is an adult , she has about as much knowledge as a child so to speak . unfamiliar with everyday tools people use , modern pleasantries , even clothing , d’vorah’s adjusted and still is .  vocabulary is also limited , before her realms conquer : hate , love , war , weapons , slavery , racism , prejudice , oppression , misogyny , stealing , drugs , clothing , prisoners , extreme laws , etc etc . these are all things that were new / or still are , to d’vorah . her world significantly changed and she has done her best to survive in it . her quirks are simple head gestures , her eyes even expressive as well ( despite lacking pupils or a normal human appearance ) . her curiosity is noted more in her subtle head tilts and ticks , faint eye squinting . she will hold things oddly if she is unfamiliar with them . posture is well poised , chest lifted when she’s confident . when feeling threatened she’s hunched or slouched slightly , if she’s feeling defensive and on the verge of preparing to attack her shoulders are taut / pulled back . though d’vorah may fully mean or intend a certain response or reaction , sometimes she does not and this is simply due to her naive mind not knowing or understanding how to react in certain situations . her bodily responses may not match her verbal responses and vice versa . if d’vorah does not mean to offend , she’ll state so when she receives reactions unfavorable to what she wanted . d’vorah does not apologize , she corrects herself ( and only when she believes she needs to ) . d’vorah does not know what individuality is . her mindset is a collective one , the hive is always a primary focus over her own individual well being . she is actually very selfless , despite what others may label for her reputation . if an act seems selfish , it more than likely was not . however , it is because of this mentality that she has , that any of her allies / companions may feel betrayed or even hurt by her actions . just as much as others are adapting to d’vorah , she is also adapting ( but to a whole new way of living ) .

d’vorah is an attainable GF in her verse for final fantasy VIII , attaining d’vorah is a difficult task as it requires squall and his team to find the island of heaven near the heavily wooded area outside of the esthar continent . this can only be done so by the team traveling via ragnarok and facing the overpowered enemies that litter the area . among the enemies that flourish , d’vorah can only be found when the party comes across a 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐨 . she is acquired only when the team can manage to draw her from a queen malboro and survive the battle . once the team is successful, d'vorah can be equipped but she can not be summoned . 

d’vorah has 𝐚 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 to show up during battle to support her new allies . she will not appear during battles that have enemies pertaining to her kind ( insects ) or nature ( such as malboros , ochu , bite bug , caterchipillar , grat , grand mantis , cactuars , etc ) . d’vorah is beneficial in both offense and defensive attributes during her summon , meaning d’vorah’s appearance whilst inflicting a physical damage to the opponent(s) will also inflict status effects : poison & paralyze to enemies, but will also temporarily boost the party with regen ( lasting a duration of 75 seconds ) .  

d’vorah is most compatible with quistis ( 830 ) , zell ( 847 ) & irvine ( 840 ). her GF abilities are listed below :
