Yo I had a donation post that got a lot notes but didn’t a lot donations so I’m making one again. I’m basically still trying to find some stable work and I’ve doing odd jobs to earn money the past few months but I’ve come up short on my bills this month and I have medicine I have to buy and pay for that manages my blood sugar. If you’d like to help me out (you have no obligation to) my Venmo is wannabevalentine and my cash app is cash.me/$valentinesdean

Love the distinction on the bottom because I agree, the total hatred of all religion based on the narrow understanding of religion from experience with Christianity needs to be called out for the ignorance it is. But I really don't care what white Christians have to say about anyone who has decided they just don't believe.
it’s actually not cool to rag on atheists esp in the heavily Christianized U.S. but thanks

I feel like the Indigenous Languages Act that just passed is pretty much just an empty gesture. It doesn't really include much about immersion programs or extra curricular activities, or even any kind of funding. It also completely excludes the Inuit
That’s the general consensus I’ve seen from Indigenous people on twitter, too:

You have options…. - You can dispose of your sweetening jar if you are done burning candles on it but still want it to keep working. You can bury it in your front yard or under a potted plant near your front door.
Personally I like to keep my jars in the closet just in case they need a lil TLC 😉 - Gypsywombman

I am not a fan of her at all, but I think that its important to share this story.
I think now’s a good time to remember how Michael Bay treated Megan Fox. They first worked together on Bad Boys 2. She was 15 years old and he had her wear a bikini and dance in a club. For her Transformers audition years later, he filmed her washing his car, and then there’s this little story Megan told during a press conference:
“I went to Bay Films and Michael Bay has an upstairs room which is where all the business happens and he was up there with Ramone, two other actors that were possibly going to be in the film, Shia was up there, three of the writers were up there. So it’s a room just full of men, a lot of men and they’re up there talking and discussing the movie or whatever and simultaneously he wanted me to have my wardrobe fitting. So I had to come up and down the stairs every time to show him a new outfit, its like forty stairs. I’d go down to this little room in the basement and put on an outfit and one of the outfits, let’s say, they’re basically like onesies or like baby jumpers with motorcycle boots on. And I would go up there and parade around in front of all them, because Michael…god-forbid he’d get up out of his chair and come into the hallway and look at me…I have to come into the room and do a little fashion show, a little three point turn, and then he would say he liked it or hated it for whatever reason and then we’d repeat the process. We did this for like five hours.”
During press for the second Transformers film, Megan compared Bay to Hitler in an interview with Wonderland, to which he responded by publishing an “open letter” on his website, supposedly written by Transformers crew members - but the language in it seemed oddly reminiscent of things he would say in interviews. In the letter, Megan was labeled a “bitch” and a “porn star.” It would be deleted within a day, and Bay would make another post on his site claiming he did not condone the letter whatsoever… despite it being posted on his official website to begin with.
Upon Steven Spielberg’s suggestion, Bay fired Megan from the third Transformers, and her career never recovered. She would later have to apologize to Bay to get a role in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
It’s not just Weinstein.

Spell to Locate a Lost Item
I was mashing a poultice of jewelweed and plantain leaf a few nights ago, for bug bites, and realised I would need a long cloth bandage to keep the poultice where I needed it. I had cut it earlier this summer, but had since lost track of it, but I knew it was in my room. I wasted about 20 minutes looking for the bandages! I then drew a map of my room and asked some domestic spirits in my house to help locate it.
Here’s how I did it!!
TOOLS: •paper •something to write with •an offering (could be anything)
PROCEDURE: •draw a map of the space you are searching for the item in. It doesn’t have to be to scale or anything serious, but accurate enough. •holding your writing utensil in the hand that feels most comfortable for you, ask out loud or in your head, which ever is good for you, a spirit of your house (obviously, if you haven’t contacted any domestic spirits or familiar spirits, this spell would need to be tweaked) if they know where the item you’re looking for is, and ask them for their help. This is the time to present the offering. I used lavender sprigs but you should choose what you see fit. I asked the spirits of my wand and athame, if they knew where the bandage was. •at this time you might want to focus your energy on the item and the thought of locating it, I did this by drawing the item on the map. •after appropriate spirit communication/power raising, I started to draw a circle on the map that corresponded to a place in my room. •I then investigated my room in the location I had circled on the map, and quickly found the bandages I was looking for!!
I hope this was clear and helpful to anyone who might need this!

Autumn in the Desert? It can be witchy too!
Tumblr media
Spicing up last year’s desert witch post —
Personally to me, autumn is the most beautiful season of the year. Nothing compares to the colors, the smells, the sounds, and let’s not forget the tastes you experience in this season! It’s a great way for many witches to awaken their mind, body, and soul. But, not all witches live in vast forest or suburban areas with trees. If you live in the desert like me, (Sonoran Desert, Arizona woot woot 🌵), then you have to find the beauty of autumn in other ways. Seeings how the local cacti aren’t “dropping leaves” and the temperatures are still in the 90°F - 100°F zone it can be hard to get into the spirit of things. So, here are some tips for my fellow witches in the desert!
🍂Get up early to experince dawn ☀️
Set those alarms early. You’ll want to wake up and brew that tea as soon as the sun starts to peep over the horizon. Gotta be up no later than 6 am, trust me. It’s the only time of day where there’s sunlight and it’s only in the 60°F - 70°F temperature zone outside. The best time to get that “fall feeling” you miss is right now. The nip from the desert night’s air meeting the warmth of the morning’s beaming sun rays is indescribable. Nature at her most beautiful and serene. It’s also a great opportunity as witches to charge or cleanse anything you’d like (water, crystals, spell jars, etc) to give an extra “kick” from the day’s first light.
🍂Go Hiking 🏃‍♀️
No, seriously. I know it seems silly but, go out on a hike and THEN tell me you don’t come back more “one with nature” lol. Whether it be by yourself or with friends, go out an enjoy the life that is teeming all around you. Some of the most beautiful scenes in the desert are during autumn months because the summer rains have left behind all that new green foliage. Not to mention the beginning of migrant animals can be seen on your walks as well. Hiking in general is just a great way to realign yourself with nature. To recharge, cleanse, and give yourself a good “boost” in positive energy.
* Helpful desert tip: Remember to always keep a charged cell phone, water, and food on your person when you go out hiking. Also it is super important that before you go out on a trail monitor the weather in the area you are going to. Monsoon rains and flash flooding on trails is still a big threat to hikers until October. Make sure if you hike alone somebody knows exactly where you are going, how long you are planning on hiking for, and when to expect you back from your hike.
🍂Plant something new 🌱
This time of year for us desert witches is great for planting new seedlings. Those precious flowers and herbs that died this summer? Try replanting them now. Mints, lavenders, berries, peppers, all sorts of plants can now flourish. With temperatures still warm during the day but short of freezing at night, even outdoor planting and gardening is perfect in autumn. If you have succulents put them outside in the wee hours of the morning. The early rays are perfect for even delicate babies to enjoy outside safely.
🍂Celebrate with local foods 🥐🍎
Anyone can eat pumpkin pie or have apple cider. It’s in the markets EVERYWHERE. But, fall for me means prickly pear and mesquite trees. Prickly pear is a fruit from the cacti plant, Opuntia, and it is heaven. It’s our pumpkin here in Arizona in a lot of ways. Culturally it’s a staple to welcoming autumn in the desert. The monsoon rains have brought a lot of new harvest. The fruit is picked for grilling, baking, soups, candies, jams, jellies, drinks, breads, cakes, you name it, it’s made with prickly pear. lol. As well with mesquite trees, you can mill the pods that the trees drop in the fall and make flour with it. The rains from the monsoons has been making the pods sweet and ready to bake into breads, pies, cakes, all sorts of goodies. I can always tell it’s autumn out here when you sit fire side to mesquite wood burning, prickly cakes, and a nice tall glass of prickly pear cider. yum! 😊
Where ever you are, remember to embrace all the moments fall has to bring. Enjoy the changing season around you and celebrate it however best fits you 🍁

no one’s a perfect witch 🌙
🌙 spells wont always work, and that’s okay. one failed spell, or even ten doesnt mean your power has left you completely, it just means you need to re-center yourself and rediscover it.
🌙 how often you do something witchy does not make you more or less of a witch. taking time for you is okay. missing full moons for spells or pagan holidays is fine, they are not mandatory
🌙 there will always be more to learn, don’t feel pressured to learn it all, especially if it’s not something you’re interested in. go at your own pace.
