okay here's some actual life advice for new parents
go to the library.
those toddler reading times are actually community-building events where you can meet fellow new parents with children the same age as your kid. you know how it's hard to socialize with all your friends, especially if they don't have young children? well here's a group of people that are far more likely to understand your situation and have free time that isn't after 9 pm on a school night. plus your kids can learn how to socialize with their own peer group. AND it's free
do NOT show up and scroll thru ur phone the entire time, the library isnt daycare, you need to be present too

Warning / PSA for my fellow Christians
Just ran into my first slop AI "Bible verse" that was just fully, completely made up.
When you spot a verse you don't have memorized floating around in the wild, make sure you doublecheck it.
Be prepared for people to start citing these things, believing these things. Be prepared for some tough conversations.
And, uh, maybe stick with using your grandma's old copy instead of buying new for a while....

I think that a very important truth that not a lot of people realize is that God doesn't want perfection; He wants love. God is like a proud parent who receives a stick figure drawing of themselves from their child and hangs it on the fridge. Why? Not because it's a masterpiece, but because it was made with love, and that's all God wants. You don't have to recite endless prayers and do excruciating penance, you just have to love Him in your own simple, imperfect way.

How about instead of using the Lord’s name in vain to condemn whatever upsets us we just bring back saying “alas” and “alack” and “woe is me” and “confusticate and bebother these dwarves!” like we used to?

it's cuz when your faith is strong you usually TELL HIM SO and ask for some new adventure. And he goes "alr bet"
Sometimes you think your faith in God is unshakeable and the next you're sobbing going through an existential crisis wondering if God even exists
I could use some prayers

Maybe it’s just me, but. When I’m reading something and am just flat-out enjoying it, like filled to the brim with glee at the author’s wording or characterization or imagination or ingenuity or pacing, I stop reading. I am so full of excitement and love that I have to stop wherever I am and pace around or do something because Words Are So Damn Cool I need to expend some energy or I’ll explode.
