israel has launched an invasion and heavy bombing of rafah(a.k.a the "safe zone" 1.7 million Palestinians were forced into) after the UN approved a ceasefire resolution for the rest of ramadan... all 2 weeks of it. results were 14 votes for YESes. 0 NOs. and 1 didn't vote(take a guess who it was) the resolution called for an unconditional release of all hostages on both sides. so yes, mr "i am totally just doing this to get my hostages back whom i totally care about and totally didn't kill" Israel is launching harder attacks even after being promised all hostages release. just in case anyone was still questioning if Israel was using hostages as just an excuse for colonialism

russia tried to turn it into a permanent ceasefire but the US vetoed it. i guess vetoing a ceasefire looks less bad when russia is the one proposing it

The Instagram account translating_falasteen has put together a fantastic resource to advocate for food delivery to north Gaza.

They have composed a sample letter which can be sent by anyone throughout the world to the US and EU offices of the World Food Programme. The letter requests the use of aerial deliveries or “air drops” to convey food to northern Gaza, which will get food to starving people without endangering the lives of WFP staff. This was cited as part of the reason why the WFP indefinitely paused aid to north Gaza. The link to the sample letter is here, please copy it and paste it into the email forms. The link to the US WFP is here, you can select “general inquiries” under the drop-down box. The link to the EU WFP is here, I selected “food procurement” from the drop-down box. In both forms, you can then paste the sample letter in the message box. Be sure to sign the letter with your name at the very end.

I saw people do this & adopted it myself, and it’s actually been super helpful—set a daily reminder to do your arab.org click of the day. It has been said ad nauseam at this point, but if each person in the thousands of people who engage on palestine posts clicked on this, we’d be raising thousands in revenue towards humanitarian aid. Don’t think your one little click is unnecessary. It adds up fast—but only if you actually do it.

A lot of people asked how they can help if they don’t have funds to spare. This is the most passive way to raise donations towards Palestinian aid.
