ONE COUNTRY DOWN, SIX TO GO!!

We also need still quite a few signatures in order to reach the one million required.

As to date, the six other countries with the most signatures are:

Finland - 30.31%

Netherlands - 24.15%

Further mole cat worldbuilding, this time with food!

Mole cats evolved to eat mushrooms that are poisonous to most other creatures, large warm-blooded insect-like burrowing animals, the eggs of terrestrial animals, and root vegetables. Nowadays, they specialize in meals prepared with those same poisonous mushrooms as well as insect parts, cooked root vegetables, and rarely red meat all prepared with spices and black vinegar. Pickled vegetables, leaves, and mushrooms are another favored ingredient in dishes, as well as dried mushrooms and meat.

The dishes shown on the right are as follows:

Insect larvae prepared with black vinegar, a specialty ingredient made in bulk and traded for other goods. It's a key ingredient in most dishes.

Lightly steamed stuffed mushrooms. Most mushrooms are partially cooked to maintain the chemicals that protect mole cat young while they're still in their eggs. Mushroom caps might be stuffed with thinly sliced red meats, mashed root vegetables, nuts, legumes, or pickled insect parts.

A simple dinner of sliced potato and insect organs, usually drizzled with a spicy vinegar-based sauce. The potatoes aren't always cooked, but it's a generational preference more than anything.

Raw foods were the norm up until about a hundred years ago, when mole cats developed a better understanding of chemical compounds and nutritional benefits in cooked food. Older mole cats prefer an entirely raw diet while younger ones prefer their food to be cooked. Most dishes are a mix of both options depending on the intended taste and texture. Drinks may include mushroom coffee, watered down vinegar and spices, ginger tea, or teas created from aromatic leaves and bark. If you've noticed, there isn't really any sugar - mole cats can't taste most sugars so fruits, granulated sugar, and syrups from trees are off the table. A "dessert" may be a very fatty or oily dish, but I haven't figured out what they are yet.

Red meat is incredibly rare and a luxury, as a lot of terrestrial animals are either enormous or they're predators themselves. Hunters are rewarded well for the slaughter of any grazing beast because of the effort it takes to do so. If meat is regularly hunted, it's usually birds.

Eggs are traditionally eaten raw to get the most benefit from them. Mole cats can swallow most eggs whole and extract the insides with a special barb inside their throats before expelling the shells. Yes, like an egg-eating snake!

Nope, people who voted for the RN are not crazy. Nope, the RN candidats who wear a nazi cap is not crazy. Nope, the guy who said he wasn't sure the Shoah was real didn't say that because "he is crazy". He is ignorant (at best I guess), an Holocaust denier but he is not crazy! They are racist, nationalist, intolerant whatever. But they are not crazy ! It hurts especially when it comes from people who are supposed to share the same political view as you. Everyone is complaining that young people nowadays don't have as much vocabulary as before but every time we need to qualify someone who says awful things we use "crazy", "mad", "deranged". Stop complaining about people saying "Du coup" and start using better adjectives to describe people you don't agree with, gosh!

This is another spec bio critter I came up with called a mole cat (subject to change.) It lives underground and is adapted to low light, but can live above ground. It has a second set of heat-sensing eyes and three jaws. Its teeth and the ridges on the tongue are adapted to eating live prey whole, but I might also have them eat mushrooms and scavenged food items. The whiskers on the face help them navigate and the tendrils down the back act as whiskers in tight spaces. I haven't decided on a fur pattern yet so it's... vaguely thylacine for now.

The second pic is me playing with the body plan. It can stand on two legs but I assume it needs a big tail for counter balance. I thought maybe a hexapod body plan would allow for a shorter tail (the weight would be on foir back legs) but I don't want to overdo the hexapod spec bio thing that's so popular. I dunno yet.

Yes, they are sentient. I haven't developed a culture for them or anything yet.

All in all, I'm having fun with them. Wish I were better at drawing perspective.

Legislative elections are coming up on June 30th and July 7th, and sadly, the far-right is leading in the polls. A far-right victory would be catastrophic for people of color, LGBTQIA+ folks, women’s rights, and poor people. But I’m still hopeful that my political side, the left, will pull off a surprise in these elections 🤞
