the fact that there are exactly three pieces of information that confirms alicia was friends with fred are 

- they fact the basically cuddle together during wood’s speech. 

- she laughs at his jokes before one of the matches. 

- she legit hit her leg in anger of him being kicked off the team.

and i took this slim ass evidence and went: close friends.
