“I’m only here because it was a better option than community service.”

The family money had gone a long way to getting him out of trouble, but after punching out a critic at his latest showing, the judge wouldn’t reduce the sentencing to a mere fine. Court ordered therapy or community–the only options offered to the young Perez. Something about the cocaine detected in his system and found on his person. Thankfully it hadn’t been enough to slap on a “possession with intent to sell” charge as well.

           Lecter was not such an AMATEUR psychiatrist any longer. He had come to expect that answer from those who were sent to him when they were in trouble for one legal offense or another. For this REASON, his expression did not change as he watched him. He had read that the young man had been caught with cocaine on his person aside from ASSAULTING a critic. None of this was really new to the doctor.

           “Well, you’ll have at least FEIGN some form of acknowledging             changes to be made. Many of those judges are FOOLS but they             will still know whether or not you have had any change.”

           A soft sigh was Lecter’s initial response to the young man’s outburst. His hands moved to be held aloft, palms up. Lecter KNEW that as a patient, he would be a challenge but that did not help him to be able to tolerate anything from him any better.

          “Jimmy, I do not know what you EXPECT of me. Those            are the simple facts and the ways in which you can            ATTEMPT to fix what you can.

❝That doesn’t make a whole lot of fucking sense.❞ His EMERALD EYES looked disappointed, his voice was serious with a tone that he DOESN’T NORMALLY GIVE. But someone wasn’t making sense, they didn’t explain themselves right. 

Or maybe Jimmy was just acting stupid, but that was hardly the case. With a heavy sigh, he lowers his eyes, looking at his hands in his lap. Jimmy managing to exhale deeply, slowly standing up from his seat.

Your control and ability to stay in the shadows as it where would both be great traits in a vampire Hannibal.” Dracula comes over to the cell and looks in at him “You could disappear and start a new life anywhere in the world, the only thing that you would have to get used to is never seeing the sun again.” He chuckles and cocks an eyebrow at him “It would be a great adventure for you.”

          Lecter’s tongue traced along his TEETH, his eyes unwavering from those of the creature. He had become use to not seeing the sun in this cell but if he was free from it, he would love to see the sunrise in FLORENCE once more. Would he really be willing to sacrifice it ??

         “There must be more to your offer than my ability to            KILL without being detected. What do you want            from me ?? ”

          Lecter’s eyes watched the man CAREFULLY with his own tilt of his head.

          “They will never let me out while I am ALIVE. Any            good society would find some use for me. Instead            I LANGUISH here with my books.”

           The words seemed CYNICAL but they were spoken with a smile. Lecter had his own plans.

      “I don’t see a point of having you in a cell.” Crane releases a breath in a short croon, turning his head up with a perceptive stare. “You’re going to talk your way out of here.”

     “I trust my instincts and the evidence. I would never discount       a lead or suspect simply because of who they are. But, we have       no reason to suspect a Ted Bundy in this case. Maybe leave the        police work to the cops and don’t assume we don’t know how to        do our jobs simply because nobody wears a headband that says        ‘i heart murder’ across the forehead. ”

           “Instincts can still LEAD you in the wrong direction. It             has happened before with the Green River murders             and even with the ZODIAC. The police become cocky             or impatient and choose that whomever fits the bill best             will become their man. Do not be easily misled by the             textbook definitions of CRIME and EVIDENCE.”

         Lecter’s shoulders rose slowly with the tilt of his head.

         “Who can say ?? You’re sure you’ve looked at            all of the evidence ?? I know that I have.”
