N I D H O G G M O R P H My sort of reimagining of the "BodyBurster" from the Aliens comics.

Description/lore below:

The Nidhogg Morph (also known as a “BodyBurster”) is the result of a xenomorph embryo having an medically inhibited gestation. When sensing a delayed development it will go under a genetic-contingency, excising host-based morphology in favour of exaggerating it’s larval features, requiring less nutrients to fuel this alternative growth. Instead of a day of gestation and bursting through the chest, the new larvae will increase in size as it’s placental sheathe spreads it’s network of umbilical roots more aggressively to counter inhibitors. When it reaches a size far too large for the host body to sustain any longer, the lower torso will burst open like a gravid wet bag, the parasite slopping out like a mass of black intestines, taking much of the host’s organs with it. The Nidhogg upon birth will locate a secure area for which to shed it’s placental sheathe and convert it into a hive growth, overgrowing the area in hive mass. From there it will hunt for prey items to gain enough materials for a corrective mutation. It’s smaller size compared to common xenomorphs allows it to enter tighter spaces, giving it greater access to prey when hunting in close quarters. Despite it’s size it is far stronger than a human being, being able to coil and spring itself with enough force to break through obstacles or cave in a human chest. It speed cannot be underestimated either, being able to rush forward like an upright sidewinder snake. Hunting of prey is not for the purpose of eating, nor for supplying host for potential eggs. Instead the Nidhogg will collect a number of host within it’s nest chamber to convert them into a cocoon. Host bodies are alive but comatose as they are partially melted and fused together into an oblong mass contained in a hive residue shell of which the Nidhogg enters to re-gestate and begin metamorphosis.

Like other deathclaws that adapt to a more auditory method of hunting over vision or smell, unusual disk-like shapes in the skeletal system aid in directing the tiniest of noises. Typically a much darker tone, this one's partial albinism gives it a very striking appearance.
