Oh gosh, this whole thing has been great from start to finish-- and I really want to just applaud everyone for how cohesive this whole thing is.  You can really tell how much group consideration went into every.  single.  decision.  Every character had their narrative arc, every decision was weighed and taken into account with the overarching story of the season, the individual stories of each episode, AND even the bare-bones story from canon.
I love how I can point to literally any character at any moment in the rewrite and know that there is a reason for what they’re doing there, that I would genuinely miss them if they weren’t there, and that there was someone (or several someones) in the writers’ room who sat down and genuinely thought about the impact of their story and character choices and wrote with that in mind.
This is the show that captured my attention in Season 1.  This is what I had hoped Season 2 would be.  And now, to be quite honest, this is Season 2 of Legends for me, accept no substitutes.
Thanks so much for all the hard work, and time, and energy, and creativity you all put into this, everyone!  And thank you so much for posting and sharing this rewrite with us all!
(And OMG, guys-- thanks so much for the shout-out!  It was completely unnecessary but super nice to read.  Considering I just kinda... crashed ur party, lol, I’m just really grateful and glad to have helped in some small way.  You’re all super great and talented!)
REWRITE COMPLETE
All right, guys, I’m declaring victory! We’re done! We’ve done it! We have a full season 2 rewrite that is (in my opinion) vastly superior to the canon original!
Coming at a mammoth 231,866 words, with 22 episodes and nineteen writers, here it is in its complete form:
the COMPLETE Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Rewrite.
Thank you all so, so much for participating! This has been a marvelously enjoyable experience, and I hope everyone else - writers, editors, readers, and artists - have enjoyed it just as much, and I hope that everyone who hasn’t had a chance to finish reading it (probably most people!) continue to enjoy and leave plentiful comments as they go.
To our writers: @asexual-fandom-queen, @polytropic-liar, @oneiriad, @sanctuaryforalluniverses, @kako-pumpkin, @arkhambright, @marywisdom, @cederexnescio, @prouvairablehulk, @airyalmost, @blue-ink-pearls, @daughterofscotland, @delkios, @cleverqueen, @hippothebrave, @lacommunarde, @drownedinlight, @pretzel-log1c  - there wouldn’t be anything without your hard work and amazing creativity. Thank you so, so much for participating! Your episodes are all unbelievably good!
To our resident artists and chat hosts, @kickingshoes - you guys are absolutely the BEST. Your tarot cards are absolutely jaw-dropping, and watching you guys draw and color while we had our chats was an absolute highlight.
A special shout-out to @quitestelar, who went through the entire set of outlines, proofreading and giving amazing comments from the POV of someone who hadn’t been in the planning sessions - thank you for all your wonderful help, your comments, and your fantastic metas!
And last but not least, thank you to everyone else who participated in any way, whether by joining the chats, following along as a lurker, or just reading your way slowly through the episodes now.
(and as a final reminder, we have chats this Sunday at 1PM and 9PM EST - the later time is tentative - let me know if you’d be interested in a later timed chat -  and we hope to see you all there. Additionally, if anyone would be interested another chat in a few weeks once they’ve had a chance to read and digest it all, I’d be happy to do that as well. Let me know!)

The World- The Major Arcana is often considered “the Fool’s journey”, with every card representing the trials and lessons necessary to reach personal fulfillment.  This completion of the journey, or ending of this life-cycle, is represented here by the World.  Symbolically, the World represents success and “coming into one’s own”— a lengthy project has been finalized; a new phase of life is beginning; relationships have been balanced and strengthened and can now be enjoyed to their fullest.  Occasionally, the World can quite literally mean “the world is opening up” as new avenues of exploration may suddenly be available.  When in a reversed position however, things may appear to be complete… but there may still be some misgivings or unfinished business to address before the celebration can begin.  The World reversed may indicate some small resistance to change— perhaps the asker is unwilling to commit fully to moving forward.  Whatever the reason for the delay, the World is ultimately a positive card in either position; the risk is absolutely worth the reward, and the satisfaction of reaching journey’s end is right there for the grasping.

Judgment- Evocative of the “final judgment” present in the religions of many cultures (more prominently in Christianity), the Judgment card of the Major Arcana signifies a long-awaited decisive moment finally come.  Often this card harkens a restoration within the asker—a renewal or resurgence of mental, physical, and/or emotional faculties—as preparation for a major, life-altering event.  Similarly, Judgment signifies a clarity of vision and increased insight, and in terms of personal health represents an imminent full recovery of self or others. When mulling over a potential career change, Judgment supports and encourages exploring a new path.  Judgment, in the reversed position however, ultimately represents indecision spawned from fear— of death, of change, of loss. Concerning relationships, Judgment reversed counsels for a temporary separation from a partner… with the potential for a permanent break—forced or voluntary—later down the line.

The Sun- The Major Arcana contains more than a few cards that define each other by their differences, often embodying the many facets of duality in life and nature.  As the Moon represents the hidden and unknown, the Sun literally brings ideas into the light, constructing them into physical being.  When present in a spread, the Sun promises positivity and joyful energy in every aspect of life.  Things literally could not be going better professionally, socially, romantically, and the Sun provides the “clear skies” and good health necessary to focus and achieve great things. Occasionally, the Sun may indicate actual hot weather or summer climates having a major impact on life and livelihood.  When reversed, though, the influx of energy promised by the Sun may be in excess, causing personal strain, or may be potentially clouded by doubts and misgivings.  Often this strain causes problems within established relationships—long-term partnerships, both intimate and professional—manifesting as major differences of opinion and grudging resentments.  Expect future plans to fall through when the Sun appears reversed.

The Moon- This card is… difficult to interpret.  Of the Major Arcana, the Moon is one of the more symbolically nebulous cards, having the most connection to the realms of myth, magic, and dreaming.  Often, when drawn in a spread, the Moon represents the subconscious, of thoughts and events happening beneath the surface of conscious action.  The Moon also carries an air of illusion and introspection— things are not as they seem, or rather, the asker must look deeper (inwardly, as well as the world surrounding) in order to discern the truth and gain understanding.  More tangibly, the Moon indicates immersion into the vibrant world of art, and may indicate a flow of creative energy.  When reversed, this card warns against concealed threats and false impressions.  Reversed, the Moon cautions against taking things at face value— what is visible from the surface is almost certainly masking hidden danger.

The Star- Considered an especially positive card, the Star represents hope and renewed faith.  Often in a reading, the Star offers new insight into an old, nagging problem and provides the positive energy and perspective needed to overcome.  If in the midst of suffering, the Star indicates help on the horizon from an unexpected but welcome source.  This card also carries social connotations of humanitarianism and equality that may require more pressing concern and involvement from the subject of the reading.  Relationships represented by the Star are healthy and balanced, with all parties feeling fulfilled and happy.  Reversed, however, the Star indicates a loss of hope, exhaustion, and depressed feelings— a lack of ability to just “let go” of old hurts and move forward.  Concerning relationships, the Star reversed shows a lack of trust and intimacy as an impediment leading to individual self-doubt and detachment.

The Tower- Another notoriously impactful card, the Tower is the card of major upheaval.  Often depicted as a tower being struck by lightning, in the process of being completely destroyed, with victims falling to their doom, this card carries a somewhat ominous overtone.  However, though the Tower represents a significant disruption to life, occasionally this change can be positive or even necessary to personal growth. When appearing in a spread, the Tower denotes a new personal status—professionally or personally—a new home, or a new way of thinking; a sudden, swift break from the old. Emotions may be running towards the dramatic, and often the Tower serves as a word of caution to definitively end negative relationships or, at the least, discontinue harmful behaviors before total destruction.  When reversed— be prepared for the worst. The promised upheaval of this card will almost certainly be negative; the meaning for this chaos will not be apparent for some time, so try to muddle through and bear it until then.  The Tower reversed may also indicate being imprisoned or confined to a bad situation.

The Devil- While often depicted as the standard goat-legged, horned “evil” figure, the Devil of the Major Arcana acts more as a symbol of the negative aspects of materialism than any strictly good or evil meaning. When the Devil appears in a spread, it’s time to consider how consumed by the material world of wealth and possessions you may have become. While there is nothing wrong with amassing things of value, the Devil warns against overly fixating on the “having” of things and manipulating others by controlling their material or monetary security.  The Devil may also indicate a sense of being trapped by one’s vices— as if lust, greed, and overindulgence were sitting in the driver’s seat more often than not.  When reversed, the Devil’s warnings are not to be ignored; the situation has spiraled into dangerous territory.  Often the Devil will be externalized— perhaps as an overly controlling partner, a powerful and influential party working for their own self-interest, or even as a looming inner demon of depression.

Temperance- Often depicted as a winged angel pouring fluid from one cup into another, Temperance represents balance and the resolution of issues.  While the word “temperance” is most often used today in reference to responsible alcohol consumption, the Temperance card can refer to any conflict or disagreement now settled and brought into harmony.  Personal, professional, or societal disputes can now be peacefully resolved; when representing a person, Temperance suggests a “team player” or someone able to stand amidst chaos and crisis as a voice of reason and a beacon of controlled calm.  However, when reversed, the Temperance card indicates chaos and unrest, a lack of focus, and poor decision-making.  When dealing with others, expect arguments and butting heads.

Death- Not to be taken all that literally nor all that lightly, the Death card is one of the more notorious cards in the Major Arcana.  Often its meaning is simplified down to “change” …which is an accurate interpretation.  However, Death is ultimately about an “ending”— the “death” of an old life and the promise of a new one rising from the ashes. The Death card can represent a literal death (never for the subject of the reading, but possibly a peripheral death of someone else), but often this card foretells the metaphorical death of a relationship, career, or general way of living.  When Death appears in a spread, understand that this ended life is natural, that the lesson to be gained is to accept change and move forward into the next phase of being.  This message is compounded when Death is shown reversed; the subject of the reading has been resisting life changes, and has been suffering the consequences of clinging to stagnancy.  It cannot be stressed enough here that all things—life, love, livelihood—have a natural lifespan that must be embraced.

The Hanged Man- One of the more evocative images in the Major Arcana, the Hanged Man depicts an inverted figure hanging by their foot from a tree.  Notably, the Hanged Man’s posture and demeanor are otherwise relaxed— he has chosen this fate and accepted his position. The Hanged Man is, for lack of a better word, stuck; so too this card embodies a sense of being trapped in a particular state of being, unable to make decisions or move forward without the help of others, and a feeling of being forced into patiently waiting for that help.  This card is also greatly tied to the story of Odin’s self-hanging from the World Tree and the sacrifice of his eye for runic knowledge.  The Hanged Man represents giving up something vital in order to gain something desired, and can refer to either the subject of the spread or to another influential presence in their life. When reversed, the Hanged Man is a warning against selfish materialism, counseling the asker to “let go” of items and ideas they have been jealously hoarding. Also, when reversed, this card carries an implication of oppression and victimization of others through ill-considered deeds— the Hanged Man urges you to pause and rethink before it is too late to change course.

Justice- Usually depicted as a woman bearing scales, Justice is the card of logic and balance.  Essentially, the Justice card represents an analytic person or state of mind useful when making decisions, taking action, or conducting legal or business matters. Often, when drawn in a spread, Justice suggests a means of solving a problem—through rational, unemotional facts—or can directly represent some form of governing or judicial figure impacting lives.  When reversed, though, Justice is absent from life, causing injustice to figure heavily into matters of court, law, and even love. Justice reversed may also symbolize a delay in the legal process (righteous vindication put on unexplained hold) causing complications and/or personal strife, or even the undesired ending of a relationship with a long-time partner.

Wheel of Fortune- A symbol of the endless cycle of life, death, and rebirth, the Wheel of Fortune represents the constant push and pull of fate and free will.  When drawn in a spread, expect a struggle with destiny to occur/have occurred/be occurring; perhaps an event feels “fated to happen” or individual actions feel scripted and immutable.  Still, the Wheel can be manually turned, and when appearing in a reading should be taken as an opportunity to make a new decision and follow a different path.  Regardless, the Wheel represents new opportunities in life— both positive and negative.  When reversed, the Wheel of Fortune may be considered a “wheel of folly” as bad luck may inhabit life and livelihood like a plague.  Be reassured, though; the Wheel continues to turn, and all phases—good and bad—reach their end, moving ever forward.

The Hermit- Usually depicted as an elderly figure holding a lantern, the Hermit is symbolic of isolation and completion, often representing a need to take time and self-evaluate at the conclusion of a project or journey-- or perhaps at the beginning of a new one.  When representing a person, the Hermit is often an older teacher schooled in the wisdom of life and age.  To the subject of this reading, in which this card has appeared, the imperative lesson to be learned is of careful deliberation.  New knowledge must be given all time and consideration due to it before making any decisions to act.  When reversed, the Hermit cautions against the dismissal of others viewpoints and emotional immaturity.  Avoid surrounding yourself with noisy distractions and reconsider your priorities.

Strength- Most often depicted as a woman pulling open a lion’s mouth, an infinity symbol above her head, the Strength card can represent both physical strength as well as the inner strength of conviction necessary to perform daring and dangerous acts.  When opposed by negative forces of hatred, or faced with imposing odds, the Strength card’s presence in a spread heralds the optimism and resolve needed to triumph.  Often Strength manifests itself physically—a supportive person willing to fight for you or inspire, or an animal whose presence is a source of unconditional comfort may soon be arriving into your life.  When reversed, the Strength card signifies lost nerve and a lack of mental fortitude in the face of struggle.  In this case, it is important to take Strength reversed as “a call to arms” as the courage to overcome pain and injustice must be mustered.

The Chariot- Often depicting a heroic figure astride a chariot pulled by two creatures--themselves representing powerful forces of duality--the Chariot represents long fought for victory.  A project or goal, once toiled over ad nauseam, has now been completed and the bounty of success is at hand to be enjoyed.  The Chariot can occasionally represent an actual vehicle, bringing with it news or people from far off places, or perhaps the energy and encouragement of others to “put in the work” and “get the job done”.  When reversed, the Chariot is a card of negative influences and attitudes.  Take caution when this card appears in a spread, as it warns against a loss of control and wasted efforts based out of arrogance and warped perception.  When referring to a person, the Chariot reversed may indicate someone struggling to avoid reality through substance abuse.

The Lovers- A card of obviously romantic connotations, the Lovers may also suggest a more symbolic union or “marriage” between opposing aspects. When appearing in a spread, this card intimates a sense of connection with another party; a feeling of recognition with another, itself leading to a physical or spiritual coming-together.  This joining is not set in stone, as the Lovers card ultimately signifies choice— options have been laid out like winding paths, and if appearing during a time of inner turmoil, the Lovers stand as a sign to carefully consider where these paths may lead prior to taking that first step.  When reversed, a relationship is in turmoil.  A partnership has been rocked by deception, controlling behavior, or neglect; the Lovers counsels treading carefully, and to avoid making life-altering decisions while in the midst of this upheaval.
