i was in charge of the design and characterization of leonardo and donatello while he was in charge of michelangelo and raphael

tmnt 2012 leo is NOT A BAD BROTHER

i’m so tired of people saying 2012 leo is a bad brother because he’s splinter’s favourite student because in WHAT WORLD IS THAT HIS FAULT?! he constantly sacrifices himself to save his brothers and loved ones, in fact he does it more times than any other leo iteration on tv.

“oh he should be more gentle and nicer to his brothers” he’s literally THE SAME AGE AS THEM even if he wasn’t it’s not his fucking job to parent his brothers so i don’t understand why people hate him for not doing that??? just because he’s the leader and “eldest” doesn’t mean that he isn’t ALSO JUST A KID (i genuinely believe that splinter just picked an age order based on maturity because how would he know their ages)

yeah rise raph is a lot better at being an older brother but that’s because practically he had to raise the others himself, and he’s older than the other turtles by YEARS. 2012 leo is the same age as the other three and i don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to understand that he’s also just a kid and it isn’t his responsibility to parent his brothers when they fuck up.

it’s like getting mad at an older twin for not “looking after” the younger twin, it’s fucking stupid. and the whole “he should be more empathetic to what his brothers are going through” is also stupid! HE’S A TEENAGE BOY on top of that he’s leading a group of vigilantes to constantly save the world and his family from complete annihilation, he’s got enough on his mind than to play therapist to his equally aged brothers when, let’s be honest, they never even do it for him.

don’t get me wrong, i’m very excited for the transformers one movie (love origin stories with clumsy teens) but its a bit weird to see bumblebee the same age as the others

i think it would’ve been really interesting to see bee as a young kid (like 6-4)

like the idea of a bunch of teenagers watching over a 6 year old while they all try to figure out new abilities is very appealing to me
