Now I understand that one of the important reasons for going to college and getting an education is to learn that the things you’ve believed in all your life aren’t true, and that nothing is what it appears to be.

Eleanor is the most annoying and infuriating character of all time. All the trauma in the word can not actually make you that mean and sensitive. Can’t fathom how Park likes her :/

“All parents damage their children. It cannot be helped. Youth, like pristine glass, absorbs the prints of its handlers. Some parents smudge, others crack, a few shatter childhoods completely into jagged little pieces, beyond repair.”

Idky everything I never told you is still my lowest rated book on my goodreads shelf when it was one of the best I’ve read so far. I keep thinking back to that book it was so amazing and beautifully written

Finished the boy in the stripped pajamas. It was ok - the narrator really did kinda ruin it for me but I think the book was kinda flat. At least compared to the movie there weren’t much scenes that actually made me feel as strongly. The end seemed pretty rushed and I wish there were more actual friendship building scenes between Bruno and Shmuel. Also Bruno is really self centered and kinda annoying lol 3 stars

The reader is sometimes enough to ruin a book and that’s the chance I take while listening to audiobooks. The guy reading the boy in the stripped pajamas is terrible and makes the characters sound too cartoonish. Really takes away from the seriousness of the book

“…we often mistake love for fireworks - for drama and dysfunction. But real love is very quiet, very still. It’s boring, if seen from the perspective of high drama. Love is deep and calm - and constant.”

Okay wtf finished the silent patient and it was intense. Honestly the book was really unbelievable in that the jumping through side characters for investigations was quick and oddly straightforward. Did not expect the twist and I liked it a lot. I was expecting something more dramatic than just cheating - and although that it what it came down to the execution was really different. I would give it 3.5 stars.

Okay I finished we are okay. Like 2/3 of the book was a three star because of how plain it was if that makes sense - the book clearly doesn’t have a set plot and is more about character development and dialogue which made the setting the scene part of the book a little slow. But the last third of the book pulled through, and since Miran is just a relatable character in general I ended up giving in 4 stars. More in depth review coming soon!

Idk if it’s possible to dislike a character just because they’re so relatable... like listening to Marin rant about how lonely she is and how much she’s changed and the progression of human life. It’s a lot to take it especially when the rest of the book is so light
