Week One: Creative Ventures
What an exciting week for us at Root 4 Creative!!! We've gone thru a complete re-branding, website overhaul, and the biggest highlight: our first week in the Creative Ventures Program - a HUGE stepping stone for our company.
If you're not familiar with the Creative Ventures Program (CVP), it's an accelerator program created by the Detroit Creative Corridor Center (DC3) that focuses on advancing the creative entrepreneurial community within Detroit. They provide one-on-one mentoring, management support and coaching from professional leaders and experts.
In its third year, CVP has had many successful alumni such as Patrick Thompson Designs, (who recently redesigned the Kresge Court within the DIA), Detroit Bike City (an engaging grass-roots cycling community), and other successful ventures.
We're thrilled to be part of the Creative Ventures Program, where we at Root 4 Creative will have the opportunity to continue to grow as a company and build lasting relationships with others in the program!
It's an exciting time to be part of Detroit and we're looking forward to be part of this renewed focus on improving the business community. Be sure to check our blog every Saturday, as we'll share our experiences in the coming year as participants in the Creative Ventures Program.
To learn more about our way of thinking or to potentially work together, please contact us at: [email protected] or 313.444.3507.

Indy Roadtrip!
Activist. Innovator. Visionary. As one of the most influential & well-known artists of the 21st century, Ai Wei Wei is constantly pushing the creative envelope politically, aesthetically, and intellectually.
On a recent visit to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, a collection of 20 years worth of Ai Wei Wei's work can be seen on exhibit. His Coca-Cola Vase, an homage to Andy Warhol, takes on a satirical commentary about the value of a globally recognized brand and its juxtaposition to being placed on a 2,500 year old vase. Other works included pieces ranging from Moon Chest, Grapes, So Sorry (film), to his extensive documentation & commentary on the 2008 Sichuan earthquake - one of the most powerful & moving pieces in the series.

As a creative collective, we at Root 4 Creative are always looking to expand our knowledge, push the boundaries, and immerse ourselves not only in Detroit but the art & design community on a global scale. I highly recommend visiting Ai Wei Wei's exhibit not only because it closes this weekend, but for the mere fact that we get to experience such a prolific body of work (from an artist who rarely exhibits in the states) within driving distance! Pencil "According to What" into your weekend plans : )

Full recap of the ride coming later. One of the best things I’ve ever done in Detroit. The whole time, the city felt alive and beating. We were breathing into forgotten places, we were removing the silence.
