anyone else remember being 13 on tumblr and every morning youd scroll down until you got to posts from the night before like it was the morning paper

the weird thing is, when I view my job as some sort of background extra it becomes much more palatable. people go to a library and see me shelving a stack of books in my cardigan and glasses (now with glasses chain!) and they go "yeah, that's exactly right. that's how it's supposed to be in a library." and for some reason, that's comforting? the work is whatever, and the customers are customers, but sometimes it feels like I'm being paid just to make sure this places looks right, and I find that very fun.

Sometimes you suddenly start to miss people, who once were really important to you, even though you thought that you had been over them a long time ago. And you know what? This is absolutely valid and normal because they were and always will be a part of your life, your story- you can't just erase them. You can miss people and everything that could have been without actually wanting them back

tumblr is such a bizarre kind of social interaction. like. the rules are so different here. I once unfollowed someone because they said prime numbers were ugly and that was simply the last straw for me. imagine hanging out with a friend and getting up from the table and never talking to them again because they told you they hated prime numbers. that’s what I did.
