This is where I keep track of progress on various arts and crafts projects I’ve got going on. Will try to add pics from completed projects at some point. Main account: rageplacent Ravelry projects: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Rageplacent

More sewing projects: comfy pants, a shirt that had an unfortunate run-in with some laundry at its’ first washing, pants, shorts, tank top, a holder for circular knitting needles and tunisian crochet hooks, added pockets to some thrifted pants (pockets made from leftover fabric from shortening the hems), a hat that is too small for even an infant, and the first partner hoodie
I guess a quick update of shit I’ve been up to since I apparently have barely posted any projects at all the last several years???
First up: the yarnening. We’ve got a Stephen West shawl knitting wip, a piano keys shadow knit test strip, a finished lil baby blanket for a fresh new nibling, some attempt at a vest (on pause currently but i forget why, just annoyed i guess?), a start at a sweater until I ran out of yarn (currently on pause while I debate frogging/restarting at better size/finding different yarn to keep going for colorblock look), and the first baby blanket for a different nibling (took too long to make it in time for birth, gave it for first bday instead)

Sewing and adjacent projects, a selection: embroidery memorial wip of smokey the cat, repaired the lining in a thrifted jacket for partner, several pairs of very bad underwear (most of them even fit and are comfy!), an ill-fitting dress that has been in closet purgatory since before the move in case I find I actually like it someday, a couple pairs of loose comfy pants that fit badlyish, two hoodies for partner now (one was purple but too long, this one was inspired by the harlequin whatever car). Several clothing items left out because all finished photos have my face.

I painted my studio! Waiting for our stuff to arrive after moving back home gave me plenty of time to work on it, which was fortunate because I got tired of working on it about 3/4 of the way through. I also painted my partner’s office purple midway through this project.

The collection so far, as of several months ago before the move. No idea where they all are.

New project. Beading the prime knots from knit theory. This is the first one, made from size 11 round seed beads in CRAW stitch, 5” long chain before it was joined.

I don’t know what I’m doing. Probably should have stabilized it first somehow, with like a patch or something. Belatedly trying with some stay stitching after the center shape started warping the broken fabric. It’s fine. This is fine.

Gonna try and turn this shape into a fish.
Found this cute lil stool cleaning out my great aunt’s house. The holes don’t really bother me, as they don’t impede the item’s function, but it would look nice. And perhaps protect it from future kitty depredation.
Trying to get back into actually doing projects now that the move is complete and I’m finally getting my studio workspace set up.

A minor stress of yarncrafts which I don't see discussed much:
There is a small tangle in your yarn. Topologically you know it must be a slipknot; if you give it a good firm tug, it should come undone.
Just how much force are you willing to stake on that?

my dear friend just looked up from the hat she's crocheting for a very large spherical rock we found in the river and said, in a slightly haunted tone that revealed this was the first time she was having this thought, "i should make something for my cousin's real human baby"

Birthday sweater for @gilfrespecter that I finished a few months ago! It's inspired by the Porsche bb-Auto Targa Hybrid 2024, & this is the second time I've used the Wesley Crusher Sweater for Adults pattern (coincidentally also for a bday gift!)

Well my loves, it appears as though the answer to "Can the Big Pattern Company (Simplicity/Burda/McCalls/ect.) survive the death of JoAnn?" has come.
The answer is no. No it cannot. It has been sold to a liquidator just like JoAnns was.
So if there is ANYTHING you want I suggest you get it now. simplicity.com is currently having a pattern sale and I snatched up some that might be useful for cosplay purposes.
I am very glad these last couple of years I have built up my collection.
