Method To Help You Change Your Mindset
Okay I just thought of this method which is yet to be tried out since it just came to me and it may take up to a few days or even weeks to come into effect, which I know is kind of a lot but I genuinely think it'll help someone shift or at least get closer. I'm currently practicing another method but I'll just drop this one here in case anyone wants it. It's really nothing too complicated. Consistency is the key.
Pavlovian Conditioning
The method is very simple and it's based off of Pavlov's Classical Conditioning. I'm sure most of you have already heard of Pavlov's Dog Experiment where he paired the sound of a bell ringing with food and, over time, the dog began to associate the bell with food, and would start to salivate at the sound of the bell ringing even when no food was presented.
Tumblr media
It's learning through association and it can easily be applied to shifting, so let's.
The Method
Pick a time of the day and a course of action you don't mind taking on a daily basis. At least for a week, every day without a miss, you'll perform this action right before your next shifting attempt. It can be something as simple as clicking a pen, chewing gum, writing the next chapter of your book, whatever you wish. Let's say eating a chocolate bar, for example.
(I later realized I may have overcomplicated this next part or made it sound too confusing, I thought there may be some of you wondering how or why this would work. You could read or just skip it.)
Chocolate Bar will be your Neutral Stimulus (stimulus that initially has no effect on the way you behave) and we will keep trying until Neutral Stimulus becomes Conditioned Stimulus (previously Neutral Stimulus that comes to trigger a Conditioned Response after being repeatedly associated with an Unconditioned Stimulus, which in our case will be your Shifting Attempts) and finally Shifting is to be your Conditioned Response, which is a learned response to the Conditioned Stimulus aka Chocolate Bar.
You'll perform this action of eating a chocolate bar and attempting to shift every day at/around the same time until your brain has learned to associate it with shifting.
Action + Consistency is all it takes.

Sufi Practices & Reality Shifting
My thoughts are a bit of a mess right now so l apologize in advance for any confusion, I'II try to simplify this all as much as I can. Let me say beforehand that I'm not an expert on any of these topics. I'm agnostic, not Muslim, but I grew up in a Muslim household. I wanted to share some of these Sufi practices I found that I think can actually help some of you "reach your higher self," soften the ego, and reshape your inner narrative (I'm not even a believer what am I saying... anyway just roll with me here.)
I first want to talk about what urged me to post this, because of a book I first read when I was around 11. It's still one of my all-time favorites. On the surface, it's Islamic fantasy so you'd think it's all made up and I shouldn't be using it as a reference point. But guess what? I will. Because it's not at all made up.
Alright, let's dive in.
"The foundation of matter is condensed energy. Thought is also energy. And if the energy of thought becomes condensed enough, it can very well materialize."
Sufi Practices & Other Tips
Alright, here are some Sufi-inspired practices mentioned in the said book, plus a few gems I pulled from other source books (Reality Transurfing by Vadim Zeland, Perfect Human by Al-Jili)
Core Practices
Dhikr
Repeating a Divine name or phrase, silently or aloud, to anchor your awareness and purify your focus. It's a way to quiet the ego and dial in to your desired reality.
Muraqabah (Meditation)
Deep internal contemplation or spiritual vigilance. You meditate with clear intention, training yourself to tune into subtle inner signals and stay fully present.
Sama/Whirling (Sema)
Rhythmic music, chanting, and spinning to transcend the ego through ecstatic movement. It's a physical way to induce altered consciousness. Dizzy enough, and your mind can slip into different states. Kind of like a bodily tool to shift your awareness.
Khalwa (Retreat)
Traditionally a 40-day seclusion with constant dhikr but we're gonna do the mini version starting with just one hour alone a few times a week. No devices. Just sitting, walking, or writing in complete solitude.
Service/Compassion (Khidmah)
Acts of service done with humility and no expectation. Serving others is meant to soften the ego and align your inner and outer intentions.
Contemplation & Study
Reflect deeply on spiritual talks, poetry, and mystical texts to reshape your inner narrative.
Muhasaba (Self-Accounting)
Before bed, review your day without judgment. Ask yourself "Where did I act from ego? Where did I act from awareness??
Ascetic Discipline (Riyazet)
Riyazet means to strive against the human lower self (nefs or id) and it aims at invalidating the power of sensual desires of the id. It's done by putting certain restrictions like eating less, sleeping less, talking less.
Some Other Practices From Different Sources
Muraqabah for "Spiritual Travel"
There's a form of muraqabah specifically for "safar-e-roh" (journey of the soul) where you imagine yourself in a chosen location until you actually feel you're there. Advanced practitioners claim their consciousness leaves the body and experiences that place firsthand. They might use visualization, chanting and breath control similar to shifting methods like the Raven method.
Tawajjuh (Energy Transmission)
In some Sufi lineages, a master can "tune" your consciousness so you access higher states faster. Basically having a pro shifter boost your frequency. But for the great majority of you who have no master or mentor to guide them through it, here are some alternatives
Visualization of the master In some Sufi orders, if the master is physically absent, you visualize them in your mind and direct your focus toward them, believing the connection still works.
Connecting through a chain (Silsila) Some believe that even imagining the founder of the order or a great saint, with sincere intention, can substitute in part.
Self-directed Tawajjuh Turning all your attention toward God directly, imagining light or presence entering your heart, and sustaining that deep focus.
Dhikr + Muraqabah Repeating a sacred phrase while sitting in meditation, imagining the meaning filling your awareness until nothing else exists.
Slides
Create merital movies of your "Desired Reality," try and make it as vivid as possible. Visualizing where you want to be (your "slide") helps shift your frequency toward that version of reality.
Importance / Excess Potential
When you give something way too much importance like "I must shift NOW or I'll die you only spike the resistance.
Things to Reduce or Avoid
Mental junk food Limit mindless scrolling, gossip and pointless arguments.
Over identifying with emotions Feel them but don't become them. "I feel angry" ≠ "I am anger"
Instant reactivity Pause before responding, especially in conflict. Become aware of your actions.
Ego flexing Drop the need to win, be right or one-up others.
Also, for those of you who aren't Muslim and don't feel comfortable doing these but still want to give it a shot, you don't have to do these exact things mentioned here. You can certainly adapt it into a method you would feel comfortable using.
Okay, that's it. I had to take out some of the things I'd previously added because I didn't want the post to be unnecessarily long. I may or may not later make a separate post to talk about those things but for now this is it. Hope these can be of use to someone 🩵

Okay I don't usually do this but it's 00:30 and I've got nothing better to do no I certainly do not have an unfinished assignment due tomorrow so here, have some OC lore.
Tumblr media
General Facts About Her
Name: L'leis
Pronouns: She/They/Any
Class: Sorcerer
Subclass: Wild Magic
Race: Half-Elf
Background: Haunted One (Dark Urge)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Trauma: Still in the making ✨
She started off as a BG3 PC so while I still don't have her entire lore built yet, this is not her official backstory but the version I adapted into BG3 before she ends up in the Nautiloid.
Alr here's a one-shot for your delight.
• • • • • • • • • • • • •
Old Habits Die Hard
She opened her eyes inside a dusty tomb, feeling a strong headache and squeezing her eyes shut. If only she could feel her eyelids move... Inside the tomb was so dark that it was nearly impossible to recognize and separate the darkness from that which veiled behind her eyelids.
She felt as if something was trying to crawl its way out of her skull, scratching her head from the inside. She squeezed her eyes even harder as they began to tear up in pain. She wished to go to sleep once again and never wake up, feeling her brain pulsating and pushing against her skull, punching and trying to grow out of her head.
Minutes passed like hours; eventually, her pain began to subside. When she came back to her senses, only then did she perceive the lone source of light inside the tomb: a small, flower-shaped glass pendant emitting a soft, pale blue light, hanging on the silver chain around her neck. She narrowed her eyes and tried to observe the pendant in its weak beam—a flower with six petals. Its light was captivating, its warmth reaching deep into her soul.
Tumblr media
She got distracted by the sound of two people talking outside the tomb. Although it was unclear what they were saying, she managed to recognize the language. She looked around inside the tomb but it was all but impossible to see anything. She reached out to touch the door, assuming there would be one. She felt the smoothness of the surface and the coldness of the stone beneath her fingertips... Marble.
Her breathing became shallow and rapid as she wished nothing more than to hit and punch the door until it's shattered along with her knucklebones. She gritted her teeth, desperately trying to concentrate on her magic, which she could no longer feel the presence of. She heard the voice of a man echoing inside her skull.
...Father?
She felt her vision go black as her consciousness slipped away in a matter of seconds. She needn't be conscious. She needn't use her head; she knew for sure the blood running through her veins would guide her whenever she was lost.
She watched her fists begin pounding against the door before the darkness consumed her soul yet again.

shifting tips
Here are some tips and tricks that has helped me throughout my shifting journey. But remember, everyone’s shifting journey is different, what works for others might not work for you. :)
1: think like your dr self
to truly capture your dr self—to understand them—you can just stop and think “how would my dr self react in this scenario and what would they do?” It makes your dr self feel a lot closer and much more real.
2: consume media
wether your desired reality is from a tv show, movie, book or completely made up - there’s always some kind of media that you can consume. if there’s no media for your desired reality at all, you can always make a playlist for the different characters, make edits or write fan fiction. there’s no need to show it to anyone if you want to keep it private, it’s just for yourself and making it easier to connect with your dr. but if your desired reality is from a fandom which has a lot of media, I’d recommend you go and watch a little something here and there to remind yourself of your goal. As well as refreshing your memory and making it easier to visualise, if that’s something you struggle with.
3: act like your dr self
this one might seem similar to number one, and it is in a way, but not really. in number one you’re just thinking, in number three you’re acting. if you’re studying, getting dressed, eating a nice meal or just laying in your bed - you can start to imagine how your dr self would do it, and then act it out. wear clothes that your dr self would love, walk like they would, brush your teeth how they would do it. in the end it all comes down to small details which can actually make a big deal in the end.
4: don’t push yourself
a lot of people (including myself) feel so extremely frustrated over the fact that you can’t shift. everyone can do it, why can’t I? I promise, there’s nothing wrong with you. you will get there one day. but how are you going to do it when you’re stressing yourself out and pushing yourself to the absolute limit. when you’re trying all the time, a lot of doubt builds up since you constantly fail over and over. and with doubt shifting gets a lot harder. of course, the first time you shift you’re gonna feel a little doubt. but huge piles of doubts and uncertainty won’t get you anywhere. just take it easy and remember that shifting is different for everyone.
5: your imagination & hope
losing your hope is a rather dangerous thing when it comes to shifting. perhaps you still want to shift, you just don’t believe it. well, you should. it’s a subject that has a lot of scientific research and has been a thing for many centuries. so why give up? imagine all the things you’ll miss out on if you just lose your hope. maybe you’re shifting to hogwarts, or to a place where you’re an famous pop star. but if you just stop believing, you’ll never get to experience any of those things.
6: methods
using different methods was something that I really struggled with in the beginning. it seemed like everyone used all kinds of different methods, and none of them worked for me. I’m not saying that you can’t use them, if they work for you I’m not stopping you. but if you’re feeling like you’re getting nowhere, maybe it’s time to just trust your intuition and do what feels best. there’s no need for any methods, you can shift without them.

For anyone trying to shift through lucid, one thing I do to practice lucid dreaming is use a totem sound like a notification sound that will help me trigger a reality check from outside dreams. There's an app I use to play that sound at night between 1am-9am when I'm asleep/in a dream state to trigger a reality check from also inside dreams if anyone wants to try that out.

Okay so this isn't exactly a method or anything, just a thought I had but
what if...
we stop trying to shift to our DR but the other way around? What if you shift from your DR to your CR? So imagine during your next "shifting attempt," you don't imagine yourself waking up in your DR bed but instead you imagine your DR self shifting here instead and you wake up in your CR? I think this could be a useful tip for people struggling to believe or trick their brain into thinking they've already shifted.
