Sharkie couldn’t think straight. His killer instincts had kicked in.

His claws tore into Jasper’s skin. He bit down the apposing cane, and broke it in the process.

He jumped, and backed away from Jasper to gather his senses. Looking over at the terrified man, he had seen the terror in his eyes.

The pain. The blood. Oh god. Usually, he felt no remorse, but in that moment, he felt nothing but guilt. He didn’t know what to do, or how to react.

He had to get away.

He stood up, still phased by what he had just done, and turned around, sprinting towards the forest.

Jasper winced and yelped as Sharkie’s claws dug into his skin. His arms continued to shake until his crutch broke. All he could really hear was a loud ringing in his ears. Everything in his body was screaming that he was going to die.

This felt oh so familiar. 

Without his crutch, he could do nothing to protect himself except cover his face. He was pretty sure that he was a goner. His body curled up as a reflex. He however didn’t notice that Sharkie had left.

His body continued to tremble as he had a hard time catching his breath. Eventually, however- he did notice that Sharkie was gone.

He slowly removed his arms, peaking around to make sure that he wasn’t...doing something else. The man trembled, slowly sitting up as he stared at the lake in front of him. He wasn’t even paying attention to anything moving. He was just...staring.

He stopped staring ahead when he touched his stomach. 

Wet.

He looked down to see the blood and the scratches along his torso. Freezing up once again, he stared at his blood covered hand. He felt an overwhelming amount of distress. 

After a few minutes of dissociating and trying to ground himself, he remembered why he was there in the first place-

That counselor was still taken hostage.

Now, this wasn’t what Jasper was expecting at all. This wasn’t how he wanted to spend his afternoon, but was this how anyone wanted to spend theirs?

Before he knew it, the man was on the ground. He let out a yelp as he felt pain surge through his body. He wasn’t cut out for this. At all. His hips clicked from the sudden movement, causing Jasper to already be on the verge of tears. Not to mention, this scenario was very similar to him.

“FUCK! G-geT- ofF!” Almost as if acting on instinct, the man took his cane and held it with both of his hands, shoving in towards Sharkie as some sort of protection.

His arms shook as he tried to hold his cane in place, not wanting to be bitten by whatever the hell Sharkie was.

“Can’t you JUST LEAVE?” he yelled suddenly. He found himself inhaling and exhaling heavily from his sudden burst of anger.

He didn’t have time for this. He was NOT going to let this human get in the way of his fun.

He gestured for Ozra to take Ranpo away. Looking back at Jasper, he showed his large, sharp, shark-like teeth.

Jasper stumbled back once again. Oh god. This was really serious, wasn’t it? And…he had shark teeth. That! Was terrifying! It struck some fear in him, leaving him a little frozen in place.

“…Lay off, man. I’m just asking- hey! Where are you taking them?” Jasper began to shout as Ranpo was taken away by Ozra. “I need you to tell me now before I get other folks involved, dude!”

The last thing that Jasper looked like was a threat. The man had a crutch for crying out loud. His appearance was also the equivalent of a human teddy bear.

He stumbled back a little before taking a step forward again.

“...I mean- there’s a lot to see here, bromide. What are you doin’ with them?” He took a shaky breath. He was honestly terrified, but he felt like he had to do something.

Jasper didn’t really expect anything eventful to happen from this walk. In fact, he didn’t even bring Misty with him. He figured that it would be a short walk, not even that. There was a pokestop a little away from his cabin past the lake that he would usually run to to get some pokeballs on Pokemon Go. Nothing that he ever really. Thought he needed Misty for.

His hips were bothering him a little today, so he brought his crutch anyway. 

Something was…fairly off about the lake today, though. The ruckus and tussling of three figures. He stopped a little far away to get a better view of the situation. What he saw made his stomach drop. Were they tying up a counselor? There was a lot of yelling an commotion, so it obviously wasn’t something for shits and giggles.

Jasper looked around, seeing if anyone else was nearby. Well, this was probably dangerous, but he could shoot the group message a text before he confronted them. He couldn’t just let this happen. He took out his phone, took a few pictures (just in case) and texted the counselor group chat that he was in before he put on his big boy pants and walked over to the dock.

He stood there for a few seconds, feeling the anxiety pool into his stomach before on impulse, he shouted.

“Hey, homeskillets! Wh…what’s goin’ on?” The man tried to be as assertive as possible.
