Logo Development
I scanned my sketch and began working digitally moving the ideas into Illustrator. I already had an idea for my typeface and decided to work based off that. The first thing I did was work in black and white and select my type idea.
Moving on, I decided to experiment and alter the type. I wanted it to be curved but legible to suit my target audience.
I began curving the type and also modified the colour to something slightly lighter. I also began experimenting with names.
I then added my colour which I had thought would be a shade of blue.
I went with the shade #2b6099

Development based upon feedback
Given the feedback, I have decided to either develop the idea of combining both brands to create an own brand such as 'Uber' and 'Disney' to a brand called 'Move'. I should take a look at copywriting? Promotion? My other idea would be to move forward with the original combination of the two initials of 'DU'. Feedback given was that it sounds like 'Do' which could be a slogan or message? If I am to move forward with this design, the logo of 'DU' should be paired with the clear indication below of a collaboration such as 'Disney X Uber'.

Perhaps create a Disney X Uber - it's own thing/a new brand - think of names? Move?
Important message - fundamental - Brand communication and messaging - tone of voice, core message? - Copywriting - Marketing? Advertising? - 'DU' could work but perhaps include Disney X UBER? Weight and value.

Development
Moving on from my ideation process, I now should be aiming towards creating a set logo combining the letters of 'D' and 'U'. I could perhaps take inspiration from the selected typeface, however I have decided that I want to keep the logo legible after some re-thinking as not the entire audience would be young fans.

Passions? - Editorial Designing? - Sign designing? - Working on branding?
Environment? - I would heavily prefer to work from home for a small agency. - I'm someone who's very introverted and struggle communicating to an audience so I believe starting small would be very beneficial. - Working from home would be most suited, however this wouldn't hold me back from taking up an in-office offer. - Long term goals and motivations would include: -- Becoming an expert within graphic design -- Really improving my skills/knowing the industry well -- Communication skills and confidence improving slowly but surely.

My partner and I had a look at 'thedots' website. We saw many roles many of which required: - Years of experience - Ability to work in an environment surrounded by others - Skillset in certain software's - Able to work proficiently. - Able to collaborate with others Majority of these being 40hour work weeks with some being with flexible hours.

One Day Brief - Sony Walk Stereo Player
Immediately, I look at the headphones as the letter 'U', 'N' and 'A'? The stereo player could take the form of an 'I'? - Creating my letters. I created a few letters then began creating my letters to spell 'Objectifier' Below includes the ideas.
These were inspired by the stereo player, by taking the form of the player and altering to create these. Many of them were inspired by the aesthetics to the stereo player. Things would include: - Headphone jack - Headphones - Stereo player/designs - Sound holes - Arrows - Sony And overall being creative with it. MOVING DIGITALLY I began to move this digitally into black and white similar to what was shown in the brief. I thought of taking already existing parts of the image and creating my own assets as well as creating assets related to the image e.g. headphone wire, sound holes.

One Day Brief - Objectified Type
As part of this brief, we were given the task to create a typeface inspired by a design source. We were supplied 40 images and each given a number, mine being 24. Out of the 40, I had to design my typeface around image number 24 which was a Sony Walkman Stereo Player.
Sony Walkman TPS-L2 The original Walkman portable cassette player, released July 1, 1979. How? - Research what it is? Who it's by? When was it made? What is it's function? - Find multiple images of the object. Analyse the form, function and aesthetics. - Consider the key design elements and shapes that make the design object visually distinctive. Deliverables? - Physical sketches and digital renderings - A design rationale that explains the inspiration behind the typeface. FORM vs FUNCTION - Form and Function are two principles of design that are considered the opposites of each other. - Form: -- Visual appearance and aesthetics, this can be shape, colour, texture and composition. Can evoke emotions and feeling - Function: -- Practical purpose, includes usability, legibility and efficiency. It's why a design exists and how it solves a problem. - Start? Perhaps start with the letters: - A - E - Q - R - S They have the characteristics of most of the other letters. letters.

Typeface Selection
After some analysing and thinking, I decided the most suitable would be the typeface 'Righteous'
I felt this typeface worked best especially for my target audience and the overall theme of the campaign. I really admire how it is a modern Sans Serif meaning it is easily legible and kid friendly

Typeface Ideation?
After sketching some typefaces down, I realised I would not prefer a super decorative typeface but also not a super bold typeface, instead I could go for something in-between? I do plan to keep the typeface Sans-Serif After some researching, I plan to possibly move forward with one of the following typefaces.
Pulang
Dacherry
Grinched 2.0
Starshines

Chosen Logo Idea - DU or UD
In the end, I decided to move forward with this logo which combined the two letters. I believe this can work very well and look professional but also work around my target audience.
I plan to combine the letters 'U' and 'D' and perhaps even create a little abstract logo. I plan for this to be very legible as it will be placed on social media and apps.

Picking and Choosing my Idea
I narrowed down my ideation page to some logos I really admired. I selected the following:
This logo is more styled towards Uber's aesthetic. A very bold Sans Serif clear typeface. I thought this would work well in some cases, however I wanted something a little more flexible.
This logo includes the two initials 'D' and 'U' combined together. I felt this was one of my strongest ideas and just loved how well it worked. I decided to look into what typeface would work best, being decorative or very modern?
This logo is far more Disney inspired. I decided to include a very decorative style typeface which my primary target audience would love, however I thought this would perhaps not work too well in a brand overall.
I also really liked this idea and would consider it my second strongest. It combines part of 'Disney's' name along with 'Uber' to sound out like 'This Uber'. I will most likely still use this idea but not as a logo, instead elsewhere in my campaign? Maybe as a hashtag trend?
