most recent windows 11 update is wiping SSDs

there's been multiple reports of people's computers not booting properly after the windows 11 24H2 KB5063878 update due to it essentially wiping the hard drives (specifically SSDs) on computers and laptops. users have reported their SSDs aren't able to be read/recognized and unable to be seen in bios settings either.

it's safe to assume all SSDs can be potentially affected by this update, so if you haven't updated yet turn off autoupdates

the bug caused by this update is seemingly triggered by installing/moving/deleting large files (50+ gb), which as simmers is what a lot of us do very pften

if you're unsure what windows version you currently have:

go to settings > system > about (at they very bottom) > and scroll down to see the current OS version

if you do currently have windows 11 24H2:

in settings, click 'Windows update' > 'Update history' > and under 'Quality Updates' check to see if the KB5063878 update is in the list of recently installed updates

don't panic, you can uninstall this update!

while in 'Update History', scroll to the very bottom and click 'Uninstall updates', and click 'Uninstall' for 'Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5063878)'

from there, give it some time to remove the update and after pause updates for as long as possible (5 weeks is the longest i think), but it will force an update if there's a big/official update for the fix

if you've already been affected and your computer is not starting or giving errors regarding your hard drive, i recommend visiting small pc repair shops to try data recovery as some have reported placing their SSD in an enclosure seems to work to recover the data

hopefully this is helpful is any kind of way! friendly reminder to back up your data to an external drive routinely!

4t2 conversion of kuolemankukka's "otuksia" rugs 🐦‍⬛

my dear friend @makingformyonesimmer requested these ridiculously adorable "otuksia" rugs by the talented @kuolemankukka, and of course since i'm on a recolours binge i had to oblige! please don't mind the messy preview; i've never made a gif before and am very happy with how far i got before the stress took over 😅

there are 30 swatches in total, just like the ts4 version, whose post has a complete gif of all the textures in case you need a browse! hehe. (i don't know why the preview says 29?? i swear i changed it to 30 but oh well...) i put everything on the maxis pets atomic rug, since i figure that most people have add-ons for that. i don't think CEP is required, but it's always good to have it!

This month is very special to me, it is the 5th anniversary of my cc creation journey ! I remember creating my first cc and instantly falling in love when I saw my own item in game ! Since then, we have been through a lot of packs and I wouldn't be there without you. I really want to thank you all for your kindness, your sweet messages, and your support. I can't wait to get through the next years with you ! 🥰

To celebrate and mark this milestone, I wanted to reveisit my first ever cc pack, with the new skills I have acquired with time. I really like the original one, but we need to admit it's more than outdated now ! So, throught the a two / three parts' set, we will go throught laundy and cleaning items !

You can gloat about getting the Western Arena banners, but Lyn, you should know by now that you are not welcome in any space I create. Especially my Patreon, which you have been promptly blocked from accessing. I despise thieves, liars, and habitual ToU violators.... all of which you're a dead ringer for. If you completed that fairy event – whatever it was called – then you'll have unlocked these bad boys: Casual sandals! The only thing is... there are 3 clean swatches and fiddylem crusty-feet swatches. That isn't even the biggest crime committed, unfortunately.

Get this: Your Sims can SWIM in them. And for why?!

So, I went ahead and disabled all swatches of these sandals for the swimming category and situation events.

Afterwards, I got rid of those unloved feets! And I even added a completely cleaned up version because my Sims will not walk around looking the way EA feels about The Sims 4!

There are THREE versions available, but you may only CHOOSE ONE since this is a default replacement.
