Threats to the rainforest
One threat is the rise of farming and agriculture. Soil erosion, when soil slowly deteriorates due to the impact of wind and water removing soil particles, is caused by agricultural practices more often than not, and agricultural practices also can cause river siltation and aquatic contamination.
Another threat is poaching, or hunting. This is obviously bad because it endangers vital animals in the food chain and it is not correct for humans to harm and inhumanely kill animals like this.
Another threat is damming because it is worried that dams will cause fish spawning runs to be blocked, meaning that fish will not be able to reproduce. It is also a possibility that dams will reduce the flow soil nutrients which are vital to the rainforest.

Animals
Capybara. The capybara adapts to the rainforest by using its webbed feet to maneuver themselves through water and mud. Also, because of the capybaras pig shaped body they can live above surface level in water areas such as savannas and wetlands.
Chimpanzees. Chimpanzees adapt to the rainforest by swinging from branch to branch in order to travel, and them being up high also allows them to search for potential predators, as well as food.
Gorilla. The gorilla adapts to the rainforest by growing fur that is long and thick and therefore helps them adapt to the rainfall.
Orangutans. Orangutans adapt to the rainforest by grasping trees with their long arms and feet that work like hands to allow them to travel through the forest canopy.

Plants
Giant water lily. The giant water lily is located in the Victoria Amazonica and has thorns on the bottom of its leaves to help it adapt to the environment.
Heliconia. The Heliconia is located in the Heliconia Latispatha and The heliconia has bracts and inside them tiny flowers, however the bracts almost hide the flowers due to how large and colorful they are. Therefore, only certain birds can get to the nectar of the flower.
Cacao. The Cacao is located in the Theobroma Cacao and it has brightly colored pods that with its juicy insides cause squirrels, monkeys, and certain birds to be drawn to it.
Passion flower, which is located in the Passiflora Edulis and develops strategies to encourage and cause eggs from the Heliconid butterflies to not be left on their leaves. Some Passiflora have built structures called nectaries that create housing and produce excess nectar for ants.

The characteristics of a rainforest.
The first characteristic of a rainforest that I think is important is a regular large amount of rainfall. Go figure why it is called a rainforest! Another characteristic is nutrient poor soil, which is caused by over-farming. Another characteristic is bio-diversity, especially in regards to tropical rainforests, which are the most biologically diverse terrestrial ecosystems in the WORLD.

Rainforests
I have been assigned a project in school to research a specific bioe.
What is a biome? A biome is a large area characterized by its vegetation, soil, climate, and wildlife.
What is a rainforest? A rainforest is a luxuriant, dense forest rich in biodiversity, found typically in tropical areas with consistently heavy rainfall.
