Rain hadn’t actually planned at all to venture off into the art district or join in on the First Friday antics; work was enough entertainment for them as it was, and was going to a festival of sorts really want she needed? no, yet, here they were: two beers and three shots in, a cigarette pinched between their teeth and watching the horrid act from the side of the stage. If she hadn’t had alochol in her system, she probably would have already left and moved onto the next fun thing they could find; the alcohol made it bearable. Rain hummed along to the tune, alternating between watching the train wreck, and looking at the brunette just a few steps away from where she was. “the magic of liquid courage,” they responded with a smile, russet hues wandering back to the stage for a split second before registering the next thing that Matty said, looking at her with one brow quirked up. “me? got up there? and what, make a fool of myself?”
the ever present cigarette in her hand, matty stood near to the stage that, currently, hosted one of the absolute worst karaoke acts she’d seen in her life. the copious amounts of alcohol consumed by the performer hadn’t helped, but matty couldn’t help but laugh at the off-key tune and the obvious tourist’s burnt skin. “suckin’ that bad takes courage. can’t fathom makin’ such an ass outta yourself…on stage, too. christ.” she was speaking to no one in particular, one arm folded across her chest, her other hand alternating between taking long drags and putting her thumb into her mouth to bite down on. “y’should go up there, show ‘em what real talent it.”

hello, hi, peaches, i’m revamping rain because i backed myself into a corner with the little to no backstory that really wasn’t thought out much, that i gave her lmao; so i introduce to you, rain 2.0!!
( kang seulgi | she/they | demigirl) hey, you hear what i need by hayley kiyoko ft. kehlani playing over on the 2nd floor? that’s where rain kwon lives! i heard they moved in from  portland, oregon exactly  two months ago. they’re very genuinebut also pretty rough. maybe that’s why davie keeps calling them the opaque. starlit is full of people, but this 24 year old is really going to liven things up around here!Â
possible trigger warnings: infidelity,
Rain’s personality will remain the same: a mouth that would put a sailor to shame, sarcastic and witty, absolutely no filter & won’t hold back from saying whatever it is that is on their mind -- which, could often lead to them getting in trouble.
as for their back ground, rain was born in Busan, SK to a teenage mom & a man who was definitely above her mother’s senior, a wealthy business man; who at the time, had a wife of his own with three sons who were 4, 7 and 12 when rain was born.
that meant that Rain was the bastard child of Mr. Kwon, who did nothing to hide his affairs from his wife, who quickly filed for divorce shortly after finding out that her husband had a child with another woman, who was old enough to be his own daughter; it was a disgrace, in Mrs. Kwon’s eyes, and as much as she hated her husband for such a thing; she couldn’t hate or blame Rain. but the divorce talk was quickly brushed under the rug and put off when Rain was dropped off on their doorstep in the middle of the night, only three months old & with a note explaining that she couldn’t care for rain and that this was the only option for her.
they took Rain in without question, and just like that, things quickly fell into place and the future would be clear in a span of four years after they took Rain in: Mr. & Mrs. Kwon didn’t work out their marital issues, nor did they hide them from the kids -- but the kids were mostly raised by two nannies, who thankfully, did their best to shelter the younger ones from the issues. things only got worse when Mrs. Kwon got pregnant with their youngest, and last child when Rain was 4 & shortly after, filed for divorce and this time it stuck.
when Rain was 13, the Kwon’s packed up their things and moved to Portland, Oregon & ensued even more issues that would eventually shape up Rain’s future. Mrs. Kwon would leave them to move back to SK when Rain was 17 (not before explaining to Rain everything up until then, thinking that she deserved to know the truth of her origin and her birth mother; that scarred Rain immensely tbh), and by then with her older brother’s being out of the house, leaving just her and her youngest sister & with their father now working constantly and never home for more than a few days at a time, Rain basically was left taking on the parental role of her younger sister.
Rain loves her family and siblings despite everything, especially her younger sister since there’s only a four year age gap, but it was a lot of pressure for a kid to take on? she could hardly take care of herself, let alone another human -- but it had to be done.
when Rain was 22, her little sister moved back to SK to be with her mom & now Rain was free to so whatever she wanted -- the only issues was that she didn’t know where to begin, since her life basically revolved around taking care of her sister, going to work and doing it all over again the next day; so she did the first thing she thought of, which was to get all the money she saved up (and stealing some from her father; he wouldn’t ever notice anyway), pack a bag and head out on a road trip with three of her closes friends.
the road trip turned into a year long adventure, couch surfing, partying, getting arrested once (disorderly conduct? getting into a bar brawl?? public intoxication? idk; probably a mixture of all of that lmao), figuring out their sexuality (GAY AF) and self as a whole, because they never had the chance before then, before they eventually ended up in Las Vegas. Most of rain’s friend (lets just say there was a group of like 8 idk) had already gone their own ways; some home, some still travelling -- but Rain was exhausted and stayed in vegas, deciding if they wanted to go home, or travel more. they were getting low on money, and hotel hopping wasn’t cheap -- and that’s how, the night after their birthday party, Rain woke up in Starlit.
as the story went from Davie, because Rain had no memory of even going into the office and booking a room herself, Rain was absolutely plastered and paid up front for two months for a room -- and, Rain couldn’t be angry at her drunk self because despite being drunk, she made a responsible-ish choice. and she’s been there for two months since, and is just living her best life -- working as bartender at night, and a freelance photographer on the side during the day, selling the pictures online for a little extra cash.
aesthetic: ripped jeans, scuffed boots and paint stained t-shirts, fresh coffee on a cold morning, the smell of rain on the hot pavement in the middle of summer. slow sunsets and fast nights in the city, neon signs and slow sunrises on the beach. long car rides, comfortable silence, golden sunlight and warm skin, the sound of waves crashing against the shore ; sleeping easy and quick after a day out.
edit: i’ll be dropping her old starter??? because ??? im frustrated?? BUT I’LL MAKE UP FOR IT BY CREATING PERSONAL THREADS!!!
#this is so long i'm sorry??#still the same ol' rain basically but w more bg info#fremontintro#infidelity tw

Rain raised a brow in question when the girl took the seat next to them, immediately mentioning fashion and them. they knew their way around fashion -- or as much as most people knew, mostly about what suited themselves -- but they weren’t opposed to the sudden interested or helping others. “are you asking me for fashion advice?” they questioned curiously, a crooked grin playing on their lips and one brow raised. “’cause, one, you are cute as can be, and two, i’m always willing to give advice.. even if i might not be the perfect person to ask” they said with a hum. “ but if you find my style interesting, who am i to ignore that?”
✩ ⏤ ( closed starter for @rainhqs ) ⏤ ✩ sabrina had to admit this girl had such an interesting style to her. sure, sabrina was into fashion but at a very low level, super low. she was one toned colours, minimalist with a few sparks of detail here and there but nothing crazy or interesting. this girl just always seemed to look so ⏤ cool. she took a seat next to rain and sighed dramatically. “ please tell me your fashion tips. i’m so fucking curious. ”

“Now that’s the spirit!” Victoria let out a lighthearted laugh at Rain’s words. “No, but really - it’s not that bad. The only difference between the bar rag and the high heels is that one of them is protected by security.” Being a pole slash gogo dancer herself, Tori constantly encouraged others to try it out for themselves if they have the temptation to. After all, it’s no secret she makes bank and loves her job. “Besides, you’re hot.” Tori looked over the girl with a smile. “Oh yeah, she’s a highly tipped one.”
rain was incapable of hiding the slanted grin that painted their lips at Victoria’s words that were more encouraging than not. “Now that sounds fabulous,” her words carried a joking tone, eyes bright with amusement and clear interest. as much as she was joking and would continue to do so, it was still a matter of what she needed to do and how she was going to go about her issues; procrastination at best. “You sure know how to boost ones’ confidence, but it shouldn’t surprise me; you’re a damn goddess, look at yourself, peach.” they hummed, nodding as if in approval. “so, what’s a person gotta know to get their foot in the door?”

“You should definitely consider it. There’s always tips as well, and I’m sure people tip well when they have enough money to bet it all” Bastian said with a shrug “Though, personally, I am more fond of the high heels and tiny clothes idea”.
“You got a number? or are you one of those people who are like ‘uh, there’s a thing called the internet there for a reason’?” rain questioned with an almost teasing tone. they quickly rolled their eyes with a short chuckle, humming as they responded. ‘i’m sure you, just like a good portion of the world, would. pay up front and you could book a showing right now.”

aggiebxby:
aggie admired the starlit pool’s sparkling water as it wrapped around her shins, whispering alluringly up at her to slip the rest of her bikini-clad body into its arms. of course, she would — but aggie liked to tease. first, her toes. then, her ankles. slowly yet surely, she would gradually dip herself into the water inch-by-inch. she craved the tickle of the water’s coldness along her spine, the slight sting of the chlorine as it soothed the nicks on her freshly-shaven legs. as she watched the ripples wiggle away from her submerged feet, aggie began to lower herself down from the pool’s side. she let out a small yelp — joy and shock all in one: ecstacy. within seconds, she was belly button-high in the swimming pool. aggie poured into a laugh, the pink, polka-dotted bikini top barely holding on as she excitedly shook her chest from side-to-side.
“hey — it’s not all gumdrops and dollar bills.” she finally mused back to the dark-haired angel sitting mere feet away from her little escapade in the pool, a serious look in her jade-colored eyes. aggie wasn’t sure if she was thinking aloud or talking directly to her, but the small blonde decided to respond anyway. she had to defend her job, in the least, though she figured rain wasn’t necessarily bad-mouthing the stripper life. “dancing is tough work,” aggie began again, slowly lifting her toes up and off the pool’s floor and letting her shoulder blades gently lean back against the water. “you have to be sexy and vulnerable all at once, a product and the business woman all at once. it’s not just taking your titties out and swinging ‘round a pole — it takes major bolas.”
tilting their head slightly as they listened to the blonde speak, rain took in the scene of the woman floating in the pool; amused, both by what she had to say and the little show of sorts she put on in the pool. “tell me all about it, blondie, i’m listening.” they mused encouragingly, willing to hear any and everything about the career path she was considering. rain couldn’t help the meek chuckle that left her lips when aggie defended -- in the least aggressive way -- her profession; something the aforementioned admired. “if i may say, without disregarding everything you’ve said, because i was listening and agree,” they started with a matter-of-fact tone. “pole dancing is a art, and i have absolutely nothing but respect for the work itself and the dancers.”
that was nothing but the truth, and if allowed, rain would probably give a auctioneer a run for their money with how much they could talk about the topic. they always had a interest in dancers, although they never actively became one. “ and, you are right, it does take balls plus some and not just anyone can do it. which, if i were to heavily consider it, i would much rather learn everything i can -- preferably from someone who is well knowledgeable in the career -- before jumping in on it.” they concluded with a shrug rolling off their shoulders, standing up from where they sat at one of the poolside tables and moved to the water’s edge; slowly dipping her bare feet into the water until it was at her knees. “how long have you been in the business again?”
#that's totally fine!!!#tbh i love when ppl do that bc yo it helps make replying easier??#*.:。♦ ⋅ ⋆ INTERACTIONS *.:。♦ ⋅ ⋆

What would you change about yourself if you could?
“Uh, nothing physical because i’ve long since accepted that i’m fine with how i look, but, probably how damn stubborn i am? which that is a ‘problem’ because i know how stubborn i am but i really don’t see the issue in it? but other people do, or so i’ve been told, since i’m not willing to bend backward to fit them and their needs? — I don’t know, i don’t think i’d change anything about myself.”

noeltho:
The moment he’d arrived at the park, he’d gotten a text from his friend, saying they were unable to meet him at the time they agreed. A sigh left his lips as he parked his bike next to a bench and took a seat. He took no notice of the person sitting on the opposite side as he stared at his phone, trying to reschedule to meet his friend another time. Once he’d finished, however, he chose to sit in silence, looking at the view ahead of him.
Noel made a face at the stranger as she began to speak and checked behind him to see if she had actually been talking to him. “Uh…” He wasn’t quite sure how to respond at first, as the topic made him a bit uncomfortable. Was this a kind of conversation you should strike with a stranger? “I wouldn’t, personally, but I mean, you gotta do what you gotta do.” Shrugging his shoulders, he looked away from them and stared ahead. He was never really good with eye contact. “As long as what you do makes you happy in the end, that’s all that matters, right?”
They had to bit back a laugh when the male turned to check behind him to see if she were talking to him or not. Rain was more or less talking aloud to herself and no one in particular, but now that someone was attempting ( or was unwilling subjected to the topic ) to make since of what she was saying, they weren’t just about to ignore him. “a bit too upfront and personal?” it was a habit of theirs, being too straight forward and open about things that other’s typically would keep hushed. she flashed the smallest of apologetic smiles, nodding her head and listening about what he had to say. “no offense, but it would be quite a sight to see someone.. as.. tall, as yourself up on a dancing pole.” sometimes the filter between their brain and mouth failed to work, the whole topic and conversation being proof. “a stable job that pays enough to where i don’t have to worry about rent, is what would make me happy.”

mcrettiz:
the worlds that were leaving their mouth raised no judgment for ryan. if he didn’t have enough savings to carry him on plus a job that covered all the expenses without him having to mess with what he had in the bank, that would be his first choice of a job as well. working as a bartender, waiter, barista, or any of those types of jobs would never get them even close to the same amount of money that a stripper got just for the night. it was a really big difference and while some could see it as a demeaning job, ryan just thought it was fun and respected it just as much as he would any other job. “hey, if i had a nice body and no insecurities at all that’s definitely what i’d be doing as well. strippers aren’t prostitutes and they are very safe in the places they work at. there are many rules, no touching rules especially and many security guards to prevent accidents.” he explained, a shrugging falling from him. “it’s a win-win situation really.”
rain listened to the other’s explanation, their chin resting in the palm of their hand. she had nothing against being a bartender, she actually liked the job for the amount of things you witness and the stories you took away after a night of serving the party goers of the city; she just had to have other options, and being a stripper was at the top of her list. “one of my best friends once upon a time, was a stripper. and, from what i’ve seen just from the secondhand experience of visiting her at work, i have high regards for those who work in that field. from the dancers, to the security guards.” rain explained, smiling as she thought back on the memories. “the only thing stopping me is my coworkers at the bar, they’re great and if it weren’t for them, or davie, who actually pointed me in the direction of the bar, i wouldn’t have the job there. i’d feel rude leaving that behind?”

What do you hope to achieve by 50?
“realistically, that i have shit figured out by then, y’know? — but if i’m daydreaming, i’d love to own a farm and have tons of animals, and a family of my own by then.”
