Story time: Lovestruck’s Attack on The Fandom

Alrighty, so many of you Lovestruck fans are still asking some of us why we are still salty with Lovestruck, especially since it seems like “not a big deal”

Well unfortunately Lovestruck has shown their true colors and has had a lot of hidden dirty laundry that needs to be bleached and cleaned out since this is something I will never forget no matter how many months this will go by. So take a seat as I explain 😇

So my dear friend @fansofvow (which I’m certain many of you know her since she’s really amazing btw🥰) had a blog full of dedication and put a lot of value towards spreading awareness about the VOW strike and supporting the writers. Especially putting hours and hours of posting a lot of spotlights and promoting a lot of routes that have caused people to have an internet into playing them.

BUT THEN...

October 2nd, 2020

I was just minding my own business and doing my school work until I get a notification about @violettduchess posting something about getting slammed by copyrights. So I couldn’t check until later in the day.

So around a few hours, I learn through a few friends that some of their posts were being taken down because of copyrights and someone told me to check my email.

And for some reason, I had a gut feeling I was going to be one of those people who get copyrights violation for NO REASON ( after all, Lovestruck being Lovestruck 🤡)

So I check my inbox...

FUCK?! (Sorry for the language 😑)

So my first thoughts were like, “ this can’t be that serious since, YEAH, Lovestruck has done a lot of shit these days. But I highly doubt they will go this far. Especially going after their loyal fans 😃😇”

BUT NOooo!

According to the email, it was reported by the Lovestruck director to the Tumblr Trust and Safety community (since that were most of the copyrights violation is usually handled🤷‍♀️) and was handle specifically by Tumblr to take care of a few Tumblr accounts since the ones that the director reported were the ones who violated Lovestruck’s “Spoilers and In-Game Content”.

But here’s the thing ☝️

Instead of Lovestruck giving us a warning like they say they would in THEIR GUIDLINES, they STRAIGHT UP REPORT IT TO TUMBLR.

So...Tumblr basically gives us a threatening email, informing us that they have the permission to “terminate” our accounts if we are given any more than “three uncontested strikes within 18 months”. Therefore, the accounts that were reported such as myself are basically being watched and kinda being on patrol (if that’s what you want to call it😐) if we break any further copyrights.

So like...

So after a few hours of trying to wrap my head around the situation. I had this question up to mind.

“Was this random? Or specifically targeted?🤔”

After talking to a few users who were affected and had their posts flagged. It took me two weeks to finally realize that it wasn’t random but it unfortunately anyone, I MEAN ANYONE THAT @fansofvow REBLOGGED 😦

So Lovestruck’s main specific target was @fansofvow and anyone that they reblogged Lovestruck individually came after them as well. So therefore Lovestruck didn’t have the time to ask their fans about what they should improve on. But instead, they had the time to go after a few users and “falsely” report them to Tumblr.

What type of company goes after their fans?!?

So I understand that those who weren’t affect don’t seem to understand our frustration, our anger and how devastated we were when this happened.

The thing is, many of us put our full time, dedication, and our work into our posts. Some posts aren’t even just random screenshots! Some are like theories, lessons, edits, video reviews, etc. and those take a lot of time to get done.

I’m conclusion, Lovestruck is a company willing to harass and target their very own fandom just to keep us silent and to pretend to forget what has happened. But instead, that is something that many of us don’t plan on doing, we plan to speak up, raise awareness, and continue letting the fandom know what a toxic company it is.

Again... I apologize for not letting the fandom know about this asap. I also have a life that is outside of Lovestruck. But other than that, I do have the right to report Lovestuck from falsely reporting me and a few users for breaking their guidelines. Since the one post that @fansofvow reblogged was just a two screenshot post that didn't include any heart scenes or anything in specifics. Therefore, I will see how that will go but that would be hard since Lovestruck has abandoned their account.

I will lastly like to state that I hope whoever this Lovestruck director is, will resign very soon. Since they have proven that they are not capable of holding responsibility for their actions and they have no experience on taking care of anyplace that includes the game industry.

How/when did you discover Lovestruck? Two years ago during a sleepless night when I searched “LGBT” on the Appstore. I didn’t play it right away. I tried a half episode of Wrath. 6 months later I tried again with Amara and I haven’t quit since!

 What was your first route? Technically Ranza but Amara’s epilogue is the first episode I finished.

Are you currently following any route? I follow the roads of Xenia, Yvette, Onyx and Ranza. Yes, I haven’t read either Vivienne or Helena yet. Shame on me :D ! But I think I will starts Vivienne’s route when I have nothing more to read.

Which route is your favorite? Amara is my favorite. A beautiful, tall, buff knight in golden armor. I SAY YES !! She was the one who gave me the desire to start drawing portraits.

 Were you aware of the writers’ strike when it was happening? I was very quickly informed because I was patiently awaiting the new season of Xenia which was canceled following the strike. In addition, I go to Tumblr every day to follow the news of my favorite LIs and I immediately knew what was going on.

Who are your Top 3 LIs according to the app? Are they still your top three?

It does not reflect my top 3 at all. Amara is the first of course but in second place I would put Yvette and in third Xenia and Wrath. It’s so hard to choose.

What piece of art are you most proud of? It’s so hard to choose too so I would say these two. It’s been over a year since I started to draw on my Ipad. So I think I still have so much progress to make.

What artist inspires you? As for the artists in the Lovestruck fandom I really like the style of “Munadrawson” / “Icedsoras” and “Rincrowe”. Otherwise I’m totally a fan of “Badasserywoman” and “Marceline2174”.

What is your favorite Lovestruck CG? 

This one because it makes me gasp ! But the CG of Xenia is really a masterpiece.

Do you read / create art for other fandoms? I read several stories on different apps but never like on Lovestruck .I didn’t read her route but I drew Kamilah Sayeed from Choices for my girlfriend.

And Captain Amaya from the Dragon Prince series.

What would you say to someone considering reading Lovestruck? Don’t hesitate for a second. If you like Otome’s games. In addition, the app is LGBT + friendly and there are LIs for all tastes. These are the best stories I have ever read in a romance game. Cliffhangers are painful but it’s a sign of a well-written story, isn’t it?

Finally, one LI, 24 hours to do whatever you want: who is it and what do you do? I would like to spend 24 hours in Atadellys with Amara. Explore the city and its four quarters , visit the summer temple, bathe in the winter temple, visit the library and admire the pirate cave .Fly and play with Leoa. Practice fighting in the wilds before going for a hot drink at Rosie’s tavern. Listen to Amara sing, play the lute, dance with her and spend the night there.

Fan Spotlight 🎉

There’s a lot going on right now. Here in the fandom, outside the fandom, the world in general feels like…A LOT. So I hope to do this a bit more often in the spirit of spreading something that celebrates the positivity of the Lovestruck fandom. Remember, we were ones who banded together and refused to waver when the writers went on strike. We raised over 7k to help them. We collected thousands of signatures. We’re pretty awesome.

Supporting VOW outside of Lovestruck

While this blog does indeed deal with mostly Lovestruck content, it’s aim is still the same now as it was at it’s inception: to support the writers who went on strike against Voltage USA’s unfair treatment. The idea to put together a central place where we, as fans of the writers, can go to support them outside of Lovestruck came from Reddit user u/tyrianheart.

This will be updated as soon whenever there is anything new so keep an eye on it!

What piece of art are you most proud of? I’d say my art which I’m most proud of is the fanart I drew for Jett for his birthday :D . That’s because I completed it in just one day. Usually it takes about a week to complete one drawing since I’m drawing these on my phone.

What artist inspires you? Countless artists who post their creations on Instagram and Tumblr inspired me to post my drawings somewhere. Before creating my Tumblr page, apart from a couple of drawings, I never posted any of my other drawings anywhere. There were so many drawings that no one has seen but me. But seeing those artists inspired me to create a page for myself where I can post my drawings :D

What is your favorite Lovestruck CG? I love how majestic Xenia looks in this CG

Do you have a favorite screenshot? I usually only take screenshots for face references for drawings. And I love Annabelle so here’s a screenshot I got of her :D

Do you read / create art for other fandoms? Yes I did. I did a couple for the Choices fanarts, and a couple of Life is Strange fanarts. But I lost them when my old phone, which I used to draw them, died. :( This was before Lovestruck and before my tumblr page. I posted them on some facebook pages but that was some time ago :D.

What would you say to someone considering reading Lovestruck? If you want a bit of time off from reality and see another world through someone else’s eyes,.. then you just have to pick your series, and a character you like, and dive in. :)

Finally, one LI, 24 hours to do whatever you want: who is it and what do you do? Hmmm.. that’s a tough question. I think I’ll go with Jett and booby trap all poppy members belongings >:D. Like in  Leon’s car, Zoe’s computer, Vivienne’s makeup drawer and so on :D
