Tango is used to working alone. He lives on Hermitcraft—and they’re named that for a reason. He’s used to working in solitude, spending long hours building and mining on his own. The Life Games are the change; this is where everything is different. Having a soulmate, co-owning his own survival—Tango never imagined accepting such a burden.

And yet, having Jimmy now, Tango can barely remember how it felt to walk free.

He feels it everywhere he goes, since they first spawned on the server, a constant weight on his heart, grounding him. It’s a deep responsibility. Everywhere he goes, he carries Jimmy’s life with him.

Underground, in the Ancient City, Tango carried Jimmy with him, something small and precious tucked under his chestplate, against his own beating heart. Underground, in the ancient city, it was remembering Jimmy that kept Tango focused. Jimmy was depending on him. Jimmy had suffered with him. Jimmy was owed the same revenge Tango was.

The Ancient City was draped in a blanket of silence and darkness, a coat so thick Tango could barely breathe. It had only been two weeks, but Tango had already grown used to the noise of their ranch, their chickens living under them, their cows barely three blocks from their bed.

And most importantly: Jimmy, warm and funny and bright, lighting up any room he was in. How was Tango expected to go home after this?

A problem for later Tango, not Tango of now, hurtling to the surface after their Warden.

On the surface, it’s bright chaos and Tango revels in it all. He laughs as his friends panic and curse him. Jimmy finds his place besides Tango, warmth finally returning. Under the bright summer sun, Jimmy is golden and delighted, laughing at the pandemonium.

“Tang-ough!” Jimmy yells in his cute accent. He grabs Tango by the shoulders and shakes him affectionately, bringing their faces close together. After the Ancient City, he’s so loud and bright Tango has to squint. “You’re brilliant!”

“I think most people would call this incredibly stupid.” Tango laughs self-deprecatingly, but Jimmy doesn’t let him.

“Brilliant,” he repeats, hands sliding down to the straps of his chestplate, grabbing whatever part of Tango that he can and bringing their mouths together in a crushing kiss.

It’s quick—just a fleeting moment of Jimmy’s mouth against his own, parted a little in shock. It’s the longest moment of Tango’s life—Jimmy’s hands holding them together, the noise around them slowing to a halt, the taste of Jimmy immediately burning itself into Tango’s mind. It’s the bright light of Jimmy shining on Tango.

It’s their linked hearts beating together, so hard Tango thinks it might rip from his chest.

No one dies.

After all his hard work, Tango can’t help but be disappointed. But he knows the bloodshed will come soon enough. For now, the warm light of the ranch guides him home, the noise of the animals settling and the grounding presence of Jimmy with him.

im really not sure if most of the fandom knows about etho "ladders" because i feel like everyone wouldve been pointing it out by now but its mostly the ethogirl nun convent? i assumed everyone knew that. that seems like etho cant swim and etho gets nosebleeds when he drinks soda level knowledge.

I honestly think that people only trusted to do king of the ladder because it was etho who proposed. If it was anyone else they would've thought that the sand tower was suspicious, but because it was etho, and he has been showing things of the past, they thought that it was just a nostalgia trip.

He accidentally created the perfect scenario to make the trap believable

I loved watching the first 20 mins of Past life because it was literally just Scott dragging Etho through the mines whilst listening to him infodump about Minecraft beta ��😭

i love how in his element etho is with the old minecraft version. he's an expert on it. he's doing advanced parkour jumps with ease. people are seeking him out for info on mechanics. that's my ancient youtuber!
