today’s site: snackdata
a smorgasboard of snack related information accompanied by masterful mspaint artwork depicting an example of every entry. It’s a fun click through with a lot of charm. Nothing explicit, simple black on white with no flashing images, with some snark and personal biases.

Today’s Site: Aristasian Reminiscence
a modern look at an old school group. I’m no historical expert quite yet so I won’t speak on the movement, but it’s definitely an interesting and comprehensive read from someone who experienced some of the community in the early Internet and discusses its history stretching even farther back, and who’s generous with linking source pages. There are multiple direct sources, from archives to still up journals and it’s certainly intriguing to hear about. Aesthetics wise this is also a very fun site, i do love the ribbons and frills. There are mentions of bigotry such as transphobia and misogyny cultish behavior, lots of discussions on gender and a few of sex. Nothing explicitly vulgar and no extreme violence. The site is dolled up but there aren’t too many contrasting colors or gifs.

tumblr sucks, like three days in my queue falls apart. I wasn’t expecting to have to catch this so quickly. I’ll be adjusting my schedule to be posting the same time everyday to see if that fixes things in the future. Expect the next site in an hour or so.

todays site: HappyPuppy.com game reviews
Run by one of the coolest nerds around, Jessica Diane Reitz creator of Unicorn Jelly and staff of many a cool site, HappyPuppy is a nice encapsulation of gaming and gaming culture back in the day when Pokémon gold was still a new thing. Launched in 1995, it holds the prestigious claim of being the first ever commercial gaming website. A lot of the reviews from different times are saved so click around on the WBA to maximize your experience. it’s interesting going back and seeing how people saw them with fresh eyes. It’s definitely worth a perusal if you’re interested in retro gaming!
Mentions of violence and other such things in relation to the games, it’s not particularly eye-strainy nor over saturated with GIFs.

Today’s site: That 90s site
welcome to a old face, a 90s site done in the modern age! I definitely and a few laughs here and there’s a lot of links to web archives (read: HEAVEN!!!) it’s a nice slice of how 1.0 was like back in the day. Pop by, check out some cool cats if you can shell out enough for the resolution on those babies, and take a peak into the past. It’s extremely charming in my humble opinion.
This site does contain gifs, some eye strain but not an egregious amount, and links to the waybackmachine that I can’t fully vet. BAYOR!

today’s site: SplitAngels
a 2000s multiple blog. Minimalistic journals with a few connected sites. Mainly about the life of said system and their e-blog. They participated in several online groups and reading their writing is fascinating. They speak about their experiences as a multiple, interactions with other communities at the time, and their life as a nurse and 20 something adult. I laughed a couple times and there’s some very charming moments. I was glued to the screen reading Beyond The Pale, their personal thoughts and struggles.

Warnings, the writing here is uncensored and there are discussions of child sexual abuse, exploration, death, medical abuse neglect and treatment, spousal issues, religion, and dark topics abound. Please stay safe.

today’s website: Subversive Intelligence Society

A politically charged site with an anti-government and ‘hackerman’ theme run by two high schoolers in Miami during 2002. Lots of discussion of the CIA, FBI, and the Bush administration and dark humor regarding to. A very interesting read and charmingly dated. I quite like the opening area which pretends to hack in to invite you to the collective. Also a delight are the number of random news and review sites linked around the place that are also saved. It’s a fascinating bite into the events at the time and the mindsets of those who frequented this little secret society with their biting commentary and disdain for POTUS and the war.
I wouldn’t call this hard to read, it’s less brightly colored than many sites but it has its flashing at points. Lots of discussion of war, death, and politics. There are some images of right wing leaders and other things you’d expect a couple of irreverent teenage guys to do on their personal site. I have yet to find pornography on this but would not fully cross it off. Browse at your own risk.

I love exploring random websites. In this day and age of the Internet where everything feels like the same three things, finding creative and interesting domains online has become an hobby of mine.
Anything interesting to read will be posted here. Not an indicator of opinion, support, or anything of the sort, there may be misinformation or such on said website, please read at your own risk.
I will mention possible triggers and generally how accessible the site is with flashing colors and images. If it is a webarchive I will mention if many of the links are harder to access or aren’t saved on the wayback machine. As for my modern sites, if I linked your page here and you don’t want it on this page, please reach out and I will remove it immediately.
feel free to ask me for a theme or to post a specific site, I don’t really have qualifications aside from non-corporate.
