Am trying to learn from hanacues art so im starting with her faces and heads. Its going decently so far but i dread the time i go to study her hair and colouring

Oh yeah her art is insane but very pretty style, I’d also reccomend Wlop or Samdoesart, particularly wlops speedpaint tutos because those go into really good detail, and you only need similar brushes and not the specific ones, though wlop is more realism and “painting” than hanacue

Even though I don’t play hi3 anymore and don’t plan to ever again I’m still kinda pissed over the fact that the one character we got that was basically Cecilia pretty much got almost immediately thrown out of meta and is not even used in many niche situations anymore. Like Cecilia was supposed to be one of the strongest if not the strongest Valkyrie and then Hare you’d expect her to be extremely broken. But uh yeah no. As a Cecilia simp… I’m heartbroken. I took Siegfried’s wife /j

ME WHEN I READ SECOND ERUPTION DURING CLASS BECAUSE I GOT BORED.

I never got hare so i cant speak on her standing in the meta nor did i ever pay attention to her teams as much as i like her character.

And as someone who still plays hi3, you are so real for that. I stopped playing story around the start of part 2 because my ipad was running out of storage but with vita and new kiana wep and then new dream seeker form in story ive been trying to get back into it lol.

See I love Hi3 and the pt2 characters are great but… they tailored it so that old players have basically nothing to work off of in terms of meta. I had the worst experience pulling Thelema and her weapon (never got it btw) and I honestly couldn’t even clear Agony 2 which was what pissed me off the most. It was like me putting so much effort into grinding out the little existing content to only be rewarded with basically scraps and dimes for hours of content. So at that point I really had to just put it on a back burner and admit that it just wasn’t fun for me anymore if I wasn’t going to drop 100+ dollars. I got especially pissed when right after I pulled Thelema they announced Songque because uh… she was my favorite character from pt2. But yeah, I really just can’t play it anymore. It doesn’t feel like it’s worth my time for what I do. I like the games lore and gameplay just… not how greedy they are. That and I also firmly believe that they’re milking the game now. The game needed to end with Kiana’s story ending. We really didn’t need a part two at all imo. After that we needed Captainverse or just general different AU’s. I really dislike Dreamseeker as well, it just feels like Hoyo is trying to copy the HSR/Genshin formula but… what made HI3 unique and special was that our protag was Kiana. She had her own personality, her own story. And now Dreamseeker just feels rather bland…? I’m not sure, but that’s just my two cents I’m putting into this.

Awww ty. As of now I use one of my old Stylus 😭🙏 I have an Apple pencil but lost the charging piece and it DIES SO QUICKLY????? My drawing tablet I had randomly stopped tracking properly, but I have an old hand-me-down wacom that works really well. But honestly yeah tyyy :)

So like I’m gonna assume you may have an idea on this but like how do you like get line weight on digital art? I’ve always struggled with digital and honestly I’m not sure why. It’s just something about the canvas feels off, how many brushes there are.

Like it feels… almost inauthentic? But I really want to learn how to draw like Japanese fanartists, and also WLOP style really intrigues me. Maybe its my ipad being really small…? I’m not sure.

Okay back away from that rant. How does… line weight work on digital? What I mean is how do you get your lines to vary in thick/thinness without having to manually edit it because manually editing just makes it look choppy, much unlike traditional.

In the meantime, I’m having fun with 20 min pen sketches because they’re really nice to loosen up with. Pen honestly just makes everything feel nice, because you learn to accept the mistakes, you get to see the shading, the form, yet you also leave the form to the mind to fill in, which nearly negates the mistakes. Plus, I think the looseness just… makes art more enjoyable? I stopped for a while just because art felt stressful. Pen kind of made it more fun for me hahah.

When i do line work i usually rely on pressure sensitivity but ive always had either a drawing tablet (like wacom or xp pen currently) or an apple pencil to work with.

One thing you can try to do is manually go over parts of the line you want to be thicker (or more in shadow)

Ive tried to find examples in my older artwork where i do it

I dont know how much of a difference this makes but its just something i do

I should get back into doing pen doodles since ive been finding myself frustrated whenever i draw and i end up scribbling all over it whether its digital or not snjs

NGL I’ve been farming genshin after I got Mualani and lost my 50/50 to kazuhas fugly ass weapon and after like 2 werks i finally got mualanis weapon and now i have 0 motivation for genshin back to star rail i suppose…? Who knows. And oh my god what happened to my himeko relics why are they fugly. Oh dear lord the world is ending I need a new hobby other than gacha games please god oh dear lord and star rail froze my account for 20 minutes after i kept guessing the password wrong then had to reset it hoyoverse i hate you with a passion they are not beating the racism allegations
