As a person who works at Ken the Bug Guy’s, honestly, I am very confused. We sold a Spider ball python to an older man who loved her, and he’s a regular customer still. He was made aware that spider ball pythons can have a neurological problem, but she did not display a noticeable wobble. We haven’t sold pastels in about a year, and we don’t offer 50% off if there’s a problem with a purchase. We work out a way that makes the customer happy. Whatever shop the teen went into, was not our shop, and I’m completely shocked about hearing this. I’m sorry that the teen volunteer had a horrible experience, but it not occur inside our building.
One of my teen volunteers accidentally bought a spider morph
Check this out because I am so proud of this kid.
So, my teen volunteer went to one of the local pet shops to get a ball python. They had “pastels” for sale in the shop. He buys one, brings it home, and sends me a picture of it to which, upon my horror, i have to tell him it’s a spider.
Well now he’s not happy about that, so he goes back down to the shop and tells them that they’re super crappy for selling him this messed up ball python with a neurological disorder under the pretenses that it is another morph!!! DAMN RUDY GET EM!! The sad news is apparently the guy KNEW they were spiders but marketed them as pastels anyway because he couldn’t get rid of them (hmmm… maybe because they have a neurological disorder)
But that just makes my teen volunteer even more upset (id be PISSED) and eventually works his way into a 50% discount at the store… not ideal because they are still getting *some* money, but still at least they recognized they screwed up bad.
I was so happy that he went back down there to tell them what a dick move it was to be selling these animals without being very clear that they have a neurological disorder.
The shop’s name is “Ken the Bug Guy” and if you live in arizona, id highly recommend avoiding that place like the plague.

I haven't been here in a while. Hey ShadyUFO! I bought a skull off of ebay in a similar condition as yours! This picture doesn't give you the best idea of how huge this pig skull is, but it's huge. It's heavy, and it's also painted white. He's got huge tusks on him though. He's roughly half the size of my horse skull. Big pig! You just reminded me of him. I named him Tank!
We're also giant pig buddies. xD When you say your skull is big, I know exactly what you mean.

I said that I’d show some tutorials I have saved up to someone, but decided that I’d just go ahead and post most of what I have stored away and create a sort of masterpost out of it. (I figure it’ll help me just as much since, as of now, they’re all pretty scattered between my Tumblr and bookmarks)
A lot of these are hosted on my personal Tumblr, but I don’t change my url so it’s pretty safe to bookmark them there (and not have to worry about the url changing) if you don’t wish to reblog them yourself for whatever reason.

So this is a pigeon crossed with a manatee. This is what happens when I try to draw now. D: I feel like that part in Aladdin where the Genie tries to turn Aladdin into the perfect prince, so he turns Abu into a whole bunch of random animals. I'm like,"Yeaaaah, this is going to be the best drawing ever! NO ,TALENT, WUT R U DOIN. STAHP."
I like it, but yeah, it's a pigeon crossed with a manatee. I can't wait until I can relax, let go, and digitally paint again.

My 15 inch heater. It's been hanging out in the closet because I'm not working on projects right now. I've dived into the amazing world of art again. Nothing to post here yet though, lol.

Hi there! (Ignore this side blog xD) I hope I'm not bothering you but I was wondering about your fish heater you use for your skull bucket. Most, if not all, fish heaters only go up to a certain degree (usually 89) so I was curious as to how you get your bucket up higher. Does it have something to do with there being less water to heat and with a high wattage it get's hotter? If that makes sense :X Thanks in advance!
You're not bothering me! :D I don't know when this message was sent, so sorry if it's incredibly late. I'm a little new to tumblr.
So the heater that I use is called an "elite radiant heater". I've bought several sizes of different wattage because they are cheap. I degreased Moose using a 15 inch 200 watt because it heated the water faster than the 100 watt.
http://www.amazon.com/Elite-Thermostatic-Heater-8-Inch-75-Watt/dp/B0002AQF8Y/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=220UVVB336D4F&coliid=I20I4MNWL4PKU1
Here it is on Amazon. Mine has different packaging, so I hope that everything still works the same. I found mine at a petstore. These heaters don't exactly work right for fish tanks. They don't have a "setting", just a little knob at the top that reads "higher" or "lower". If you turn the knob all the way on high, the heater can potentially reach 130 degrees. These are made out of glass, and they are cheap and fragile, but I think they work if you are a hobby skull cleaner. I use a digital thermometer to keep an eye on the temp in the bucket. The heater gives you instructions on how to set the temperature, but I've had accidents happen where the bucket went to 130. I don't think any serious damage was done, but after that I watched it closer. Sometimes it takes me a day to get the temperature just right. I just have to tweak it throughout the day. It kind of has a mind of it's own, so you've got to keep an eye on it. It's sometimes either too cold or too hot. It's got no problem reaching beyond 89 degrees though! You have to keep the bucket filled all the way to the top or else the water will over heat, that's what caused one of my accidents. I started putting lids on the bucket to decrease the amount of water lost by evaporation. It works though, I know I'm not selling you on this, but if you wanted to try out a small one I would suggest it. It just requires a little experience with it to understand how it works. I have gotten it to work right successfully, but sometimes it doesn't want to cooperate.
Sorry this huge chunk of words, I hope I helped you at least a little bit? Thanks for the question!

It's a nice sketch, so I thought I would put it here. AND LOOK, actual art of Ratrina.
I thought it would be cool if Ratrina had like a club tail covered in spines.
I wish I could remember all the things I forgot from years ago. D:

I was doing some comparing between my Bicolor leaf-nosed Bat skull and the Asian House shrew. I did a side by side too, I'll post that in a little while. I just think these little skulls are so neat. I feel they don't get as much exposure because they are so small. These are labeled in the picture so I didn't feel the need to label them here!

Speaking of shrews (Shadyufo, lol), I bought a small lot of skulls from jrcunkle off ebay. Just a mink and a shrew. I really don't have as much space for specimens as my cabinet leads you to believe . Maybe small specimens, but definitely not anymore big to medium specimens.
I think shrews (and their skulls) are underrated! They're weird looking and very neat. Shrews have no zygomatic arches , and no auditory bullae. Instead of auditory bullae, they have tympanic rings. They have sharp teeth for crushing exoskeletons and hunting worms. I think it's nice to shed some light on them.
Again, sorry about the cellphone shots. I don't have an awesome camera right now. :/
