I. Bourgeois and Proletarians
Tumblr media
A spectre is haunting me - the spectre of communism. As it has all of us.
A few years ago it was a very popular trend to turn communism into a meme or even just say that you align with it without truely understanding what it actually truely ment to be a Communist.
Over the nest couple of days in going to be reading the Manifesto of the Communist Party written by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels and giving my opinion on it as a person who is not a communist.
https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/download/pdf/Manifesto.pdf
In this first chapter they outline their thoughts on the "Bourgeois" and what makes them the biggest antagonist to the communist movement.
They talk about how the rich rely on the creation of goods and the control of the market to stay in their place in society. You can even see that today. The rich constantly promote a buy now culture. They flaunt the brands that they buy, they appear in ads telling you to buy a new product, they show off their expensive life on social media all while preaching the idea that if you work hard enough you too can be like them.
"The bourgeoisie cannot exist without constantly revolutionising the instruments of production"
the reality for many of us is that we are never going to be like them, but we continue going to work, to not only put food on our table but too also get these luxuries they are promoting as something you need in this life. All while they are profiting off the constant circle of money flow making them ever so richer.
They tell us the lie that your worth is only in how much money you make. Our skills and passions are boiled down to another way that you can contribute to your wealth. They have removed all forms of humanity from our society and instead replaced it with a greed and a hunger. We are no longer human, but worker drones that they have a disconnect from.
"It has converted the physician, the lawyer, the priest, the poet, the man of science, into its paid wage labourers."
We are not above this either. The most recent and famous example of this would be shein. Us as the richer class or the "bourgeoisie" in this situation have been so disconnected from those workers that even though we know of the harm that buying from that company causes, many still choose to shop there. For the only purpose of making them look better, showing off how much they can own. and how good they can look. A self- focused society.
Capitalism and the rich have not only affected us on a personal level but also the whole globe. In order to chase more wealth the rich has connected the whole world. They centralised where all the production is made into big cities, encoraging more workers into productive forces in order for them too create not only more wealth for them but more convenient production of goods.
"It has agglomerated population, centralised the means of production, and has concentrated property in a few hands."
Even though communism failed when it was working in our globalist world what if we simplified it into rural communities each governed by themself under socalism. the problem with this though is who would enforce it over a major scale and whov would stop from one communities greed growing into wanting to expand and take over another community for their own personal gain.
Food for thought.
