The Implementation of lockdown due to the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 brought major alterations in everyone's daily routines. Right from going through a serious economical crisis to facing enormous loss of lives, this pandemic proved to be the reason for a huge loss for India amongst many nations.
Nevertheless, it is important to spot the bright side of any negative situation and that is something we learnt and understood from an independent singer and artist, Raveena Mehta. Last seen opposite bollywood hunk Tiger Shroff in his song ‘Casanova’s Acoustic Version', Raveena Mehta feels that the pandemic has resulted in hyper focus toward music, she has focused on growing her platform, audience and has had the opportunity to create music with many independent talents across the nation and globally.
This emerging artist and singer believes that during these hard times, social media has had a massive impact on audiences around the globe. While there is a massive influx of information everyday which might be too much to handle for most, Instagram and Tiktok have also become the strongest platforms for various budding artists in India. The Instagram and Youtube platform saw the highest rise in the number of uploads during this quarantine period. Independent artists like Dev Rayani, Vipasha Malhotra and Janani Sings have garnered a huge fan base in no time.
"Despite the horrors it has come with, the Pandemic has definitely had an empowering effect on independent music in India" says Raveena. The music industry has been notorious for being dominated by bollywood, lockdown turned out to be an excellent time for the rise of new artists, sounds and mediums wherein artists have been able to showcase their talent to mass audiences who are ready and waiting for content to keep them entertained in their homes.
“While there are always two sides to every situation, social media has definitely helped bring awareness toward my music and causes and I am grateful to have gotten opportunities through these platforms as well.” Said the promising 24 year old singer, Raveena Mehta.
Raveena hopes that world reaches a point of normalcy, however she aspires to take her positive learnings from the course of this pandemic and implement them in her future endeavours. Raveena has mentioned that after a small break, her new releases are lined up for the world to enjoy and will be out very soon. Fascinating vocalist Raveena Metha discusses her passion for music
Singer Raveen Mehta is blessed with the voice of a nightingale. She talks about her journey, which started from a Fine Art student to a full-time musician. The Indian-British Singer who grew up in Belgium says that she grew up immersed within music. From a very young age, she knew it was her calling. She only came to realize this when she released an album titled ‘From Deep Within’ at the mere age of 12.
As the adventure continues, 23-year-old artist and singer Raveena reveals that she released and recorded various songs until the age of 14 and decided to take a break from music to understand what she wanted for herself better. She took a brief break from being in the spotlight while completing her education and working on her art. Finally, in 2018 she decided to start her public Instagram profile and create covers for her favorite international and Indian artists.
She went on to collaborate with various artists such as Rishabh Kant for Aaja Mere Naal, Avitesh Shrivastava for Yaadein, Rishi Rich for Jab Tu Hai Wahi.
The R&B and soul singer released her recent collaboration with one of the biggest deals in Bollywood, Tiger Shroff for the acoustic version of his single Casanova. She looks forward to working with artists like Arijit Singh, Jonita Gandhi, Jubin Nautiyal, Vishal Mishra, Asees Kaur; among many others.
She discloses about the relentless support she gets from her mother, who is likewise her manager and regards profoundly. Raveena Metha also inspires young independent artists to believe in themselves, focus, maintain discipline, and keep a clear set of goals and directions.

One such phenomenally talented singer is Raveena Mehta, who is an emerging independent artist in India. She began her singing career when she was 12 years old and has been training her melodious voice. She has contributed to the indian music fraternity with many phenomenal songs like Yaddein, Aaja Mere Naal, Jab Tu Hai Wahi, I want you and Keh na Saku. Her recent feature in Casanova's acoustic version with Tiger Shroff was one of her most celebrated works worldwide.
When asked about what has been the most easy and the most difficult time of your journey, she mentioned "I started my musical journey quite young and looking back on it, I feel a true sense of gratitude for every easy and difficult moment in my journey. All the experiences, highs and lows have made me the person I am today and I wouldn't change a thing". talking about her most difficult time she said "one of the most difficult decisions in my musical journey was when I decided to take a break from music and delete my social media presence when I was around 16 years old. I needed to take some time and space to understand who/what I was pursuing music for. Sometimes, you have to let go of the things you love, to better value them in your life".
Talking about her good moments in her career, she mentioned "I would say the most ease I have felt through my journey is having the support of my family. The unwavering support that I get from my relationship with my mum, who is also my manager is one I value greatly. I would say easy, as the ease and flow of our relationship is something I continue to respect".

Singer Raveena Mehta, the official female voice of Rahul Jain’s composition ‘Keh Na Saku’
Despite the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, India’s independent artists have ensured to spread a great source of hope, positivity, and entertainment through their various artform. One such artist is singer Raveena Mehta who has contributed some wonderful songs to add to their playlist. Raveena has worked with renowned artists like Avitesh Shrivastava, Rishi Rich, Rishabh Kant, and Asad Shabbir. This is the first time she has collaborated with the phenomenal Rahul Jain as they release the official female track of Rahul Jain’s hit song Keh Na Saku.
When we asked Raveena about the song and the music video she said, “This has been a wonderful project to work on. Rahul and I met in 2018 and stayed in touch, I’m glad that we were able to work on something remotely. When I heard Keh Na Saku for the first time, I fell in love with it. The overall experience working with Rahul was brilliant and I look forward to more collaborations with him.”
The music video was shot in the streets of London Notting-hill, as its quaint surroundings suit the soul of the song. This song launched on Raveena’s YouTube channel on the 23rd of December.
