As much as Keyleth loves the Spring, she can’t wait for the long, warm summer days since, at least then, she won’t have to return home in the dark, freezing cold because she forgot to bring a warm jacket when she decided to walk to school to enjoy the sunny morning.

She did try to call Vax’ildan to pick her up since they were already going to meet for dinner at her apartment tonight, but he must have been busy to his elbows because not only did he not answer her call, he also did not reply to any of her text messages, which he always does. She’s not worried about him— yet .

Be In My Eyes - Chapter 42

You can read the previous chapters here or on AO3. Summary: When Vax’ildan returns home from work, he finds Keyleth awake, waiting for him and they decide they are done sleeping apart. Meanwhile, Vex’ahlia and Percival have their “later” talk.

Keyleth was still awake by the time Vax’ildan got home at almost four in the morning. He noticed she had stayed for as long as she could, being the last of their friends to leave (thankfully Scanlan had stayed too and walked home with her), but that had still been almost two hours ago. She should have been asleep by now.

“Hey.” He greeted his girlfriend as he took his jacket off. It was freezing cold outside and he could barely feel his face and hands.

“Hi.” Keyleth cocked her head with a smile. She was sitting on “her” armchair, reading the second book of the new dragon book series she had recently fallen in love with.

Hey loves, BIME update!

Chapter 42 is finished and I'll be posting it this week (either tomorrow or Wednesday), chapter 43 only needs revisions, and I have a few scenes I want to write that will most likely be chapter 44, but after that things might slow down for a bit because I need to plan out the next few chapters.

I'll make another update when I get a better idea of what's going on :P

Last week someone left a comment that made me cry. It was a simple comment, but I was super stressed and depressed, and it just lifted up my spirits, but when I went to go reply to it today, it was gone.

I don't know why someone would do that. Did they regret leaving the comment? Did they just decide overnight that no, they didn't actually like the fic? Did I do something bad?

I guess I'll never know the reason, but in case that person is reading this, your comment made my day that day and I'm sorry I couldn't properly thank you for it before you changed your mind.

Vax’ildan and Keyleth  decide to head to the parlor in the afternoon after the man whips a quick brunch of scrambled eggs with spinach and feta cheese on toast that makes Keyleth practically drool. While she loves cooking, she prefers baking, so having a boyfriend who loves cooking more than she does is a jackpot.

“We’re taking the bike, by the way,” Vax tells her when they’re in his bedroom getting ready. They took turns with the shower so Keyleth is already dressed when he returns to the room with a towel wrapped around his waist, though his chest is still dripping water. Even though she is fully aware that it is his apartment and he can walk around naked if he wants to, she gives him a look of disbelief at his audacity for tempting her.
