‘trans women are women’ is important to say but I think acting like it's self-evident is misguided. it means we position ourselves with the ‘objectively correct’ definition of woman and all transmisogynists are incorrect, which means all you need to do is convince someone that the transphobic definition is the correct one and they’re suddenly deep into explicit transmysogyny. the issue isn’t correctness, it’s cruelty. defining a woman by possession of a uturus and/or XX hormones is a logical definition, the problem isn’t correctness it’s that this definition is oppressive, ahistorical, reactionary, bioessentialist, and cruel. it’s a definition that serves power structures of genocide and exploitation and feeds off of them,

beyond just saying ‘trans women are women’ we need to understand why, because that enables us to defend that position. it shifts us from ‘debunking’ a metaphysical definition to disproving the arguments and evidence used to support it.

defining gender through bioessentialism and hormones is not a foregone definition. but, even if it was, even if every single culture in every single time period throughout human history had ruthlessly defined women by vagina, ‘trans women are women’ would still be a position worth defending.

trans women are women not because you cannot define women through bioessentialism, but because you cannot doing so without discarding and obstructing human autonomy and safety. trans women are women because that is how our definition works and we will defend this position because the alternative is persecution

What about Liam and Theo?

Sometimes I like to imagine that the Pack went on to live happy, normal lives after defeating whats-her-name and the other hunters.

Like Derek decides to let go of his guilt since Kate is dead and now he lives with Stiles in Quantico.  He works part time at a bookstore and spends his free time making furniture.

Stiles excels at the FBI, calls his dad every Sunday, and stops seeing images of death and destruction every time he closes his eyes.

Cora and Isaac connect (through Stiles) and live happily in Peru, finishing school and taking some time off to travel before joining the workforce.

Lydia rules MIT and moves to London after graduation to be closer to her best friends, Jackson, Ethan, and Danny.

Kira is having the time of her life with the skin walkers.  After a few months of reluctance, she just gives in and commits herself to learning everything they can possibly teach her.  Her mother joins her after a few years.

Scott dies of consumption. 

Chris Argent gives up his arms dealing business and becomes a deputy.  Sheriff Stilinski takes great pleasure in hazing him during his rookie year.

Malia finally flies to Paris and lives a wonderfully carefree life off of Peter’s money.

Peter remains in Beacon Hills and protects the land until he dies of old age, surrounded by his husband and their children.

While Bugs is bad, I still find it more enjoyable than most post season 6 episodes.

Drogo wasn't like that in the books, HBO decided to make him a rapist.

He’s still very much a rapist in the books as much as he is in the show.

Yes, unlike the books Daenerys and Drogo’s first time is less aggressive and they spent a majority of the night looking at each other before they end up having sex. But we cannot forget that Daenerys is a 13 year old child bride in this situation. She was literally sold to this man who is twice her age.

She has no control on what will happen to her and even if she wanted to, she does not have the power to say no in this position thus the ability to truly consent to Drogo is gone. Even if Drogo hadn’t physically held her down and raped her the first night, it’s clear Daenerys suffered martial rape none the less when she’s sold into a culture where the wives have little to no say in what is done to them.

This line alone from Daenerys when she is struggling to accustome herself to married life and the Dothraki lifestyle is a clear indicator that Drogo in fact rapes her.

Even the nights brought no relief. Khal Drogo ignored her when they rode, even as he had ignored her during their wedding, and spent his evenings drinking with his warriors and bloodriders, racing his prize horses, watching women dance and men die. Dany had no place in these parts of his life. She was left to sup alone, or with Ser Jorah and her brother, and afterward to cry herself to sleep. Yet every night, some time before the dawn, Drogo would come to her tent and wake her in the dark, to ride her as relentlessly as he rode his stallion. He always took her from behind, Dothraki fashion, for which Dany was grateful; that way her lord husband could not see the tears that wet her face, and she could use her pillow to muffle her cries of pain. When he was done, he would close his eyes and begin to snore softly and Dany would lie beside him, her body bruised and sore, hurting too much for sleep.

Again, she’s 13 when all of this is happening to her. We know she cannot refuse him and she’s completely alone in all this. She has no connection to Drogo and she’s GRATEFUL Drogo cannot see her face because she’s literally sobbing and in pain the entire time. She’s bruised and sore and is unable to fall asleep afterwards. It all becomes so much to her that she plans to kill herself had she not dreamt of a dragon later that night. She becomes more adapted into the culture of the Dothraki but we can’t ignore these lines.

By then her agony was a fading memory. She still ached after a long day’s riding, yet somehow the pain had a sweetness to it now, and each morning she came willingly to her saddle, eager to know what wonders waited for her in the lands ahead. She began to find pleasure even in her nights, and if she still cried out when Drogo took her, it was not always in pain.

This is Daenerys trying to cope with it all and if we ignore how alarming and disturbing it is that anyone, let alone a child would have to cope with this sort of situation we still have evidence that Drogo hurts Daenerys during sex but even if he still does, what can she do?

Part of his promise to Daenerys was to literally rape the women of Westeros. He’s born and raised in the Dothraki culture and sees no issues with it at all. That’s it. That’s a rapist. And it’s not a show only part. It’s still the same speech both in the show and books. Also, after sacking a village to fund Daenerys quest for the Throne, the men are going around raping woman after woman, Daenerys tries to take them as her own, he tells her these are the “spoils” and his men have full right to assault these women.

He’s scum in the books as much as he is in the show and HBO had nothing to with that.
