Japanese shiso aka perilla I think they are mint family. They can take over the yard , I never forgot that. They are amazing in miso shiru, sushi, natto, kyuri with shoyu, saba, somen, basically most Japanese dishes I love to make.

I’m hoping these are buds starting on my chayote. These are sweet and crunchy when sauteed. They produce plentiful. During hard times, the plant fae shall be there to help us up from hunger and fear. To teach us to love and appreciate our surroundings . Give thanks to the soil , the earth, the worms.

My turtle pond, above is a tiny waterfall with watercress to sustain this guy naturally. Natural sunlight healthy turtle. I give this guy meal worms or dug up earth worms . My dirt is very fertile so there’s plenty of earth worms here.
