29er Mountain Bike Disadvantages
29er Mountain Bike Disadvantages
29ers or two-niners are mountain bikes and hybrid bikes that are built to use 700c or 622 mm ISO (inside rim diameter) wheels. Here are some of the reported disadvantages of 29ers:
1. Theoretically, the wheels are not as strong as smaller wheels, so aren't able to take as much thrashing as the 26-inch wheels.
2. When traveling at slow speeds, tight handling and steering response time are decreased.
3. The larger wheels are harder to get moving than their smaller counterparts; therefore 29ers accelerate more slowly.
4. 29-inch mountain bikes need more braking power to slow down.
5. The larger wheels require more force when climbing uphill, so they may not be as fast for climbing as the 26ers.
6. There is a more limited selection of tires, rims, forks, and frames simply because 29ers have not been around as long as 26ers.
7. Some say it is harder to pop up the front wheel on a 29er.
8. Issues with fit have been reported, such as toe overlap and high standover height, especially with smaller riders.
Nevertheless, the 29er is gaining in popularity and some riders say they have improved momentum, stability, and traction with 29ers despite the reported disadvantages.

Types of Kites Every Kitesurfer Should Know
Types of Kites Every Kitesurfer Should Know
Deciding to take up kitesurfing can feel like a pretty big step. You have to invest quite a few bucks to ensure that you can get out on the water and to have a kit that performs well and will ensure that your riding progresses. Before you buy your kiting gears, you must first know the different types of kites. Kites have two categories based on their design: the inflatable kites and the foil kites. Here, we're going to focus on the types of Inflatable Kites.
  Inflatable Kites
Inflatable kites feature plastic tubes within the leading edge which are pumped full of air to give the kite its shape provide flotation when it falls into the water. There are four types of inflatable kites: C-Kites, Bow Kites, Hybrid Kites and Delta Kites.
  The C Kite
The C-kite is the original and oldest kite design. It has square corners and forms a deep C-shaped arc when flying. C-Kites don't have bridles and feature flat square wing tips. It gets its characteristic shape from its lines, which are attached at the four corners of the kite. However, they are not the best pick for beginners because they generate a lot of power and lift. Nevertheless, they give a good overall stability when unhooked.
  Bow Kites
This style of kite is one of the newest in the market. Its defining characteristic is the shape of the trailing edge, which is concave. Because of its shape, it is sometimes called a flat kite. Its shape also enables it to perform differently than C and Hybrid kites. The bow style kite has bridles that are attached to its leading edge making it a Supported Leading Edge (SLE) kite. These bridles are essential to help hold the kite in its flat shape. Without them, the wind would force the kite into a sharp curve, just like a C- kite. This type of kite can be easily depowered and relaunched. It also gives an excellent upwind performance and will excel in light and strong winds making it ideal for races and speed environments.
  Hybrid Kites
The Hybrid kite was developed in order to merge the benefits of C and Bow kites into one kite. Since hybrids are a fusion of two different styles, their design can vary greatly. In general, hybrids come be those which are almost identical to C- kites, those which are similar to Bow kites and the rest fall somewhere in between. The Hybrid Kite is a supported leading edge (SLE) kite because it has bridles attached to its leading edge. Hybrids give the feel and powered turns of C-Kites and the safety and depowering tools of a Bow Kite.
  The Delta Kite
Delta kites are bow kites with a much more swept back wing profile. With its D-shapes, short and fat profile, the Delta Kite is incredibly easy to relaunch, offer forgiving piloting and impresses in a wide range of winds. They can be used by beginners, free riders, big air specialists, race and wave kitesurfers.

Luca Paolini To Return To Racing With MTB Team
Paolini Back To Race For Marathon World Championships
Luca Paolini's road career was suddenly brought to a halt when he tested positive for cocaine during the 2015 Tour de France. He was instantly suspended by his team and then later handed an 18-month suspension. Paolini admitted having narcotic addiction as well as sleeping tablets. He then spent time in a clinic to end the addiction and hoped that he would be able to return to racing again.
Last month, the 40-year-old said that he had exhausted all possibilities and had all but given up on returning to the professional ranks.
But the Gazzetta della Sport says that Paolini has signed with Italian manufacturer Torpado, which runs a mountain bike team. Paolini will focus on the endurance side, with a goal to racing at the Marathon World Championships in Singen, Germany, at the end of June.
"I was ready to race again among the pros, but after the ban, I was wanting for quality proposals,” said Paolini. "I had also looked for tour operators, some of the offers were interesting. Torpado called me, I was pleased."
“It was an occasion to which I could not say no. I will finish my career with a number on my jersey. The goal is the Marathon World Championships in mountain biking in June in Germany. The path is not impossible for us road racers. I grew up with BMX, MTB and I always used it to train.”
Paolini's teammate at Mapei-Quick-Step and a former rider Paolo Bettini will coach him while Mirko Celestino, who took silver in the 2011 Marathon World Championships will help him improve his off-road skills. Paolini says that they will have to get down to business if he hopes to get himself ready in time.
"Mirko is a technician, there can no longer be friendships. He told me that there are no foreclosures. I will try to be ready [for it]."

How To Fold Your Kite Lines Right
How To Wrap Your Kite Lines Properly
In kitesurfing, setting up and maintenance require a lot of time but they are definitely part of the sport. Whether you're finishing a kitesurfing session or taking a rest, it ismandatory that you keep your lines neat in a bundle.
Folding up the kite lines is more than a practical operation that will speed up your rigging - it's a matter of safety.
  Follow these steps:
1. Hold the kite bar with one hand; 2. Grab and pull the steering lines and the main lines tight at the end of the chicken loop, depower line, and trim strap; 3. Wrap up the lines around the top of the kite bar in a figure-of-eight; 4. Continue holding the lines and going around the ends, crisscrossing, while walking toward the lines laying on the floor; 5. Use the bungees straps to lock off and hold the loose ends of the lines together.
Repeat the process until you memorize and master it. If you want to unwind the bar to go kiting, hold the bar with the other hand, and reverse the process described above. The kite lines and bar will be ready for action in less than 30 seconds.
Remember that the more efficiently you fold up your lines, the faster you're going to be able to get on the water next time.
