PROLOGUE
It was a typical high school day in Yokohama, Japan. The school bell rang, and students began streaming out of the school building. Among them were Akane Hirai,a 15-year-old high school girl, and Steven Shultz, a 16-year-old boy who had moved to Japan from Germany. They had been classmates for a few months, but had never spoken to each other before.
As they made their way home, they took the same train and made eye contact for the first time. Keira was struck by Steven's blue eyes and the way he carried himself. Steven was intrigued by Akane's beautiful pink bright hair and the confidence in her stride.
As the train pulled into their station, they both got off and walked towards their respective homes. Akane couldn't get Steven out of her head, and she found herself thinking about him as she walked. Steven, on the other hand, was drawn to Akane's energy and wanted to get to know her better.
Little did they know, their brief exchange on the train was the beginning of something much bigger. A connection that would change their lives forever. A love that would shine like a radiant light in the darkness.
