“i’m not gonna say that- drew-” andré had his laptop close to him, shaking his head and sighing, as a younger boy’s laughter could be heard coming from it. facetiming with his brother ALWAYS meant trouble of some kind. it was andré’s fault for doing this in a public forum. he KNEW what drew was like. with another sigh, andré turned to the person behind him. “my brother wants me to let you know that he thinks you’re cute.” he said, before looking back at his laptop, where a goofy faced younger boy was grinning all too widely. “he’s also FOURTEEN and should be studying.” andré added loudly, causing his brother to frown and roll his eyes, cussing, before disconnecting the call finally. andré stifled a small laugh, before looking back at the person he’d bothered. “sorry about that. the idea of college always excites him.”

her whole attention is dedicated to the journal on the table. she’s been so determined to plan every single activity for the next week, she was even able to zone out in such a loud place. she just so happens to take a short break to think at the same exact moment andre turns to her. she probably wouldn’t have noticed him otherwise. “ what? ME? ” she’s confused, and for a second thinks this is one of those fucked up jokes, until she sees the young boy on the computer screen. she laughs a bit, mostly just relieved the comment wasn’t mean spirited. even if it’s just a fourteen year old being goofy, her cheeks start to feel warm.  “ um, it’s okay. don’t worry about it. i was probably like him with my brother when he was in college. ”

she approaches, hesitant at first, until he actually suggests for her to sit down. which she does, not caring about her stuff that was left behind on the other table. it was unlikely anyone would come out here to steal a biology textbook, anyway. she smiles at his words, even if he was only saying it because HE liked said band. ren listens to his small rant, toying with one of the buttons of her jean jacket. one thing she’s definitely noticed was almost everyone’s collective fucked up sense of humor. some might say dark, to feel less shitty. but it was beyond that quite often.   “ is that even something you’d be able to tell through tarot? ” renata asks, GENUINELY. she comes from catholic household, where such themes weren’t talked about and were often frowned upon. “ seems like you’re in really good hands, then.  ”

the books in her arms were starting to feel heavy. she was a BIG  fan of hardcover books, like any other sane person, but not so much about carrying them around. she thinks she’s found the perfect spot to read on cell biology, as there was only one other person around. but it didn’t last long before music started blasting through a speaker. she sighs, thinking it’s gonna be a problem, until she recognizes the band. putting down her books, renata works up the courage to walk over him. she’s been TRYING her best lately to be a little more outgoing, but soon she’s being... scolded over nothing, it seems. complimenting his taste now feels unnecessary, but she’s already walked all the way here and interrupted him. “ nothing, i was just gonna say i loved the song, actually. but um, that’s fucked up though-- about tatiana. sorry people have been bothering you for that. ”

she grew up in queens, nyc. the youngest of 3. her dad was born in brooklyn to mexican immigrants and her mom is from mexico city, she was studying abroad in nyc when she met him and ended up staying. 

ren is the only girl, her 2 other brothers are lorenzo and cesar. she was closer to lorenzo who was the eldest since cesar was always picking on her hsdjkfhsjkf

despite being the youngest and the only girl, she wasn’t spoiled by any means or anything. except by lorenzo, who would do anything for his baby sister :/

she was a really quiet and shy kid, would barely speak when in public unless it was extremely necessary, but she did talk more at home with the people she trusted 

lorenzo became a police officer when ren was around 9 and ever since she looked up to him, she highkey wanted to be like him 

she was determined to become a police detective 

TW DEATH; about 2 years ago lorenzo was shot and killed in the line of duty. by this time cesar was away studying in lockwood, ren and her parents moved to rochester to be closer to cesar and as a way to try and heal?? her mother believed a change of scenery and whatnot would probably help them but,, it really didn’t do much 

 so ren finished her senior year of high school in rochester. such a sudden change like this was really hard for her and it was difficult for her to adjust so her senior year was lowkey a nightmare 

despite everything renata still had the same goals. but her parents forbid her from majoring in criminal justice or anything in the like bc they knew she was gonna pursue a career as a detective as well and theyre just scared and don’t want renata ending up as lorenzo so !! they said they would only pay for her studies if she majored in something else 

she’s a sneaky lil shit and basically made them believe she’s majoring in biology (her favorite hs subject fdjhghj) but surprise bitch she’s really studying criminal justice and her original goals stand ! we love a stubborn bitch

they met through renata’s older brother, cesar (who is the same age as tatiana),cesar and tatiana were either dating or just hooking up, either way renata didn’t trust tatiana and she’d advice her brother to not go out with her, which only ended up in tatiana disliking/bullying renata so she would back off. SHORT ANSWER, tatiana was renata’s bully. however, she did not choose tatiana’s name during the watershed, ig she has morals or whatever
