So I have a question how would Ethan react to us calling him Ethan? Considering that he wants to be a good dad to yn I would be assuming that he would be hurt in the most possible way possible (also I’m really excited for your part six of Yandere RE8 I honestly love the idea and just it in general also love handsome and if you do anything to him I will cry)

Reader stopped calling him "dad" when she was like 14. She wanted to see how he'd react if she "disrespected" him but it appeared that Ethan didn't even seem to notice. I mean, even when reader used to call him dad, she had to call him a couple of times before he'd divert his attention and give her a little hum of acknowledgement, but nothing more. So when you started calling him by his name, there wasn't much difference to begin with since he barely noticed your presence half the time.

Even when you guys are on the quest to find Rose in the village, he doesn't notice it. I think it really hits him like a bitchslap in the face when he returns from the dead and goes to save you and he suddenly notices how he cant remember the last time you called him "dad" or more embarrassingly, he cant even recall the first time you called him "dada" either.

He tries to get you to call him "dad" again but his heart breaks a bit everytime you either change the topic or refuse to call him at all, just keeping your thoughts to yourself as you continue walking behind him to avoid talking to him.

Perhaps its even more heartbreaking when you "accidentally" (or so he tells himself) call Chris, Heisenberg, hell even Duke "dad".

Some RE8 Headcanons: When They Have a Fight With Their SO

The Duke

The Duke and you rarely have fights, and when you do, it is usually settled in a diplomatic way.

He rarely gets angry and tends to keep a level head in most situations.

He, however, had his moments, which are sometimes aggravated by having his SO in close proximity, all the time.

Sharing a small space all the time can make it harder to have much needed personal time, which can sometimes lead to frustration, irritability, and, sometimes, fights.

You also tend to push for answers, as you hate not understanding the reason behind the reaction and answers he gives you.

Once he reaches his limit, he tends to be dry and sharp.

You are the emotional type and when you reach your boiling point, you sometimes lash out.

 Anger, sadness, pain, frustration, and confusion are at the center of your outbursts. 

Often, you will project and say things you don’t really mean in your emotional outbursts.

Y/N: Please... tell me why can’t I go for a short stroll on my own? I promise, I will take a Wolfsbane with me.

Duke: Because, YOU are NOT ready to go on your own. That is WHY.

Y/N:  I will never be ready to go on MY own, if YOU never give me the opportunity to practice and become more independent! Just because YOU can’t easily get around and walk, doesn’t mean I should be confined to this damn cart! I’m not a prisoner! 

Duke: PLEASE Y/N! NOT NOW! I cannot deal with your whining and pestering right now! Make yourself useful or make yourself scarce.  

Y/N: ....A-Alright.

These moments tend to lead to long periods of silence between you two.

The Duke will feel terrible for what he said and how he said it.

He hates seeing the tremble in your bottom lip and the tears collecting in your water line during these spats.

He is also very hurt by your words and tone, but knows it’s just the anger talking, and not really you.

You will go to the back of the wagon to cool off and mull over what happened.

You will feel horrible and regret picking at sensitive areas.

You hate seeing the hurt in his eyes and the way his entire face and posture seem to fall the moment the words leave your lips.

You will fight off the tears, because you feel as though you shouldn’t be the one crying after saying what you said.

Once you calm down, you will quietly make your way to him and sit with your back against him.

Both of you will stay silent for a while longer, but there is comfort in the physical contact. 

You tend to be the one to apologize first, due to the Duke being nervous to re-rock the boat if you haven’t calmed down yet.

Y/N: ...I am so, so sorry. There is no excuse for what I said. You let me stay out of the kindness of your heart, and I threw it in your face. You do not have to accept my apology, but I promise, I will do whatever it takes to get in your good graces again.

Duke: I appreciate the apology, my dear. I will confess, your words did hurt me, but I know they were said out of frustration. I am sorry as well. I have been under a lot of stress lately, I did not mean to be so harsh with you.

Y/N: I promise to work on my temper and be more patient in the future... I love you, you know?

Duke: I love you too, my dear. I promise, I will take you out soon to practice your self-defense and shooting. I just cannot live with myself if you get hurt.

After the apology, you both just tend to sit together, in comfortable silence.

The Duke loves when you cuddle up to him after a fight, as it reassures him that you are okay.

You cuddle up to him as a way of gauging if he truly is okay.

‘If he doesn’t pull away, he must not hate me, right?’

The Duke will hold you tight once night falls, whisper sweet words to you as he runs a hand through your hair.

You hug him as tight as you can, while he does this.

Once he realizes you have fallen asleep, he will kiss your temple before going to sleep as well.

The next day, everything is back to normal, as if the fight never happened.

Alcina

Most fights are caused by Alcina being a little too overbearing and protective and you wanting some freedom.

It will start by you asking for some space, and freedom to make some choices and decisions.

Y/N: All I'm asking for is the ability to make some decisions for myself.

Alcina: I give you plenty of opportunities to make your own decisions!

Y/N: ...You chose my clothes for me. You get the choice in what I eat, what I do, where I go, who I can talk to... Alcina! I'm not a doll, I'm a person!

Alcina: Well, excuse me for wanting to pamper you. If you don't appreciate what I do for you, maybe it's best if you leave.

Y/N: Alcina, you know that is not what I mean.

Alcina: Uh-huh. Maybe, you should go visit that fool Hisenberg. I hear idiocy loves company.

Alcina will ask you to leave in her frustrated state.

Sometimes you will go to Heisenberg, like she suggests, but sometimes you go to the Duke.

He always makes the best of food when you bring the ingredients and always seems to know what to say in these situations.

Y/N: Sorry, I always seem to visit you when I have problems.

Duke: Do not fret young Y/N, I enjoy having these talks and sharing a meal with you.

Y/N: I would, usually, warn you to be careful in sharing such sweet words, but I don't think Alcina will mind anytime soon.

Duke: She will calm down and come around sooner than you think, but until she does, feel free to make yourself comfortable in the back of the cart.

Y/N: Thank you, for being a friend. I will repay your kindness, I promise.

Duke: You are always so serious. Don't worry so much, as you said, we are friends. Now, how about a drink?

You spend a month living with your friend; the Duke.

It's a good time and you get comfortable with being by yourself and exploring the village.

Eventually, Alcina sends a personal invitation to the Duke, requesting you to join him at Castle Dimitrescu.

Once you arrive, Alcina asks to speak to you in private.

Alcina: I heard you've been living with the merchant.

Y/N: I have.

Alcina: .... Look Y/N, I am really sorry about kicking you out, and perhaps, I may have overreacted. You are... correct. Perhaps, I don't give you enough room to make your own choices.

Y/N: ... I appreciate you saying that. Thank you.

Alcina: The castle has been too silent without you within these walls. If you are still willing to give us a chance, I would love for you to move back in.

You took Alcina offer and accepted to move back into castle Dimitrescu.

Alcina stayed true to her word and let you make your own choices.

Including the choice to have a weekly cup of tea with your friend the Duke.

It takes a bit of time, but you both return to "normal" life.

Karl

Karl is quick to anger and prone to outbursts that can lead to some intense fights.

None of these fights are ever really serious though.

He is an emotionally unstable individual, but you still love him.

Miranda or Alcina piss him off? Angie and Moreau were getting on his nerves? Stubbed his toe on a corner? Fight.

He releases his anger on you, and you bite back.

He cannot talk to you like that, without getting it back in return.

These squabbles happen often, but Karl is surprisingly soft if he hurts you.

When he's seeing red, it's hard to get through to him, but if he gets physical in his frenzy, he calms down automatically and starts to check over you.

Karl: I'm so sorry, did I hurt you?

Y/N: W-Well... You are squeezing my shoulders a little tightly, but besides that, I'm good.

Karl: Oh my god! Sorry! Sorry!

Y/N: Karl, it's okay. Just... Calm down a bit, you are way to tense lately.

He has never hit you, but sometimes his grip on your shoulders, arms, and wrists can cause some bruising.

He will pepper the bruised area with soft kisses as he continues to apologize.

To get him to stop apologizing, you grab his hat and kiss him the moment he looks at you face.

Which leads to a makeout session.

Karl: This is probably why we fight.

Y/N: you mean why you fight? I am just returning the energy you lay out on me.

Karl: Oh really? So that's why you are trying to start a fight now?

Y/N: No. I'm trying to start a fight now because I want some more kisses but my scruffy partner has me in a vice-grip cuddle.

Karl: Hah! .... I love you.

Y/N: Love you too.

Fights always end up in lovey-dovey cuddle situations.

The Duke

Saved you from a pack of lycans when you accidently strayed into the village.

Started off on the wrong foot.

Duke: Found yourself in a pinch, haven't you?

Y/N: Fuck off...

Duke: Now, now, if you would rather stay out here and continue to play with lycans and get yourself killed, be my guest... but, if you would rather survive... You'd best change your tone.

Y/N: ....

Duke: That's better.

He allowed you to stay in his cart until you healed, but started falling for you the moment he got to know you.

Duke: So you have just been wandering all over Europe in hopes of finding a cure?

Y/N: ...Yeah pretty much. I know, it's pretty stupid.

Duke: I wouldn't call it stupid, as much as adventurous. Is that why you found yourself in the village?

Y/N: Yeah... I wasn't planning on being greeted by lycans when I first set foot.... I never properly thanked you for saving me or apologized for how I reacted, I'm sorry about that.

Both came to conclusion after the heart to heart that you both were enamored with each other.

Loves it when you slip under his arm, get comfortable at his side, and cuddle.

Hates seeing you upset or scared, but loves how your first instinct is to grab and hold his hand.

Secretly gets a little jealous when others flirt with you, but he'll never admit it to you.

Mother Miranda allowed him to do what he wanted with you, as she assessed that you were no threat.

He decided to keep you around.

He became enthralled by how bold and eccentric you are.

Realized he had fallen for you when he came back from a meeting with the Lords, and caught you wearing his clothes in the mirror mimicking him.

Karl: I should be mad... But you do a damn good impression and they look good on you.

Y/N: *surprised shriek*

Loves how you only show your soft side to him.

Sometimes, he is taken aback by your agressive side.

Karl: Did you just threaten to choke out that lycans with the disemboweled intestine of its friend?

Y/N: maybe.

Karl: I don't think they understand our language-

Y/N: Fear is a universal, Karl.

He loves watching you tinker away with the scraps in his factory and will sometimes animate your creations

He will do anything to protect the childlike wonder you have somehow managed to retain, regardless of everything that has happened

Was given charge of you, after Mother Miranda's experiment on you was a success.

She started off as your mentor, but quickly became fond of you.

Your passionate nature was what drew her to you.

Loves to tailor clothing for you and spoil you with the finest of silks and fabrics.

She loves to invest in your hobbies, especially painting. She will place completed works around the castle.

Being much older and taller than you, she feels the need to protect you from the horrors outside the castle walls.

Y/N: Alcina, I must do my rounds of the village. Mother Miranda will be furious if anything slips by.

Alcina: Nonsense! That fool Heisenberg can do the perimeter check. You still have much to learn before you can go outside, even more so before you can go alone.

Y/N: That's not fair to Heisenberg, Alcina. How much longer before I can go outside alone, anyways?

Alcina: Until you reach my age.
