Jessica Jones is the best thing to happen to Matt Murdock, change my mind.

Matt is going through hell from the start of the Defenders to the end of the Defenders. He lost all of his friends, and the woman he thought was the love of his life. He’s a mess, living with the guilt that comes with being the surviving, more stable half of an abusive relationship. He survived, just to see this woman rebirth into a psycho Zombie version of herself that he’s going to have to put down.

And yet, while Matt is at his lowest and most alone, Jessica Jones comes along and brings out a side of Matt we’ve really only heard about. This Matt is funny, and quick witted. He’s willing to team up and trust.

We see Matt smile more along side Jessica in the Defenders- genuine smiles, not sarcastic, ironic, self-deprecating smiles- than he has in the entire series so far. Every single time Jessica gives him crap about something, he’s not frustrated and defensive like he can be with Foggy and Karen, he seems genuinely amused by her. And perhaps that’s because it’s clear very early on that Jessica respects and admires him. That she’s actually willing to forsake her loner tendencies to work with him. And while she will not fall into taking him half as seriously as he takes himself, she accepts that he is Daredevil.

Almost instantly upon meeting Jessica Jones, Matt treats her like a friend and an equal. There’s no hiding from her, no angst driven urge to protect her from himself. She would never put up with that crap. They’re a team. She can handle it. And because of that he can be both Matt and Daredevil with her.

Something he has never been able to reconcile with any of his relationships thus far.

Matt and Karen were drawn together because of their similarities- similarities which when combined knock them both off balance. They are both striving to be atone for every past sin. They are both striving to do it all themselves. They are both convinced- if they just try harder- they can save everyone. They can fix every thing. They can figure it out. While this can make them good friends, it makes them terrible at offering support and balance in a relationship. They need people who can balance them from spiraling out of control. People who can benefit from, and value their altruism. People who can let Matt and Karen’s tendency to strive towards the light inspire them to be better. People who will support them in their fight, while reminding them not to be martyrs. People who will love and respect their light, while not letting it consume them. That’s why Karen and Frank click together perfectly. And that’s why Matt needs someone like Jessica.

Jessica tempers Matt’s sense of purpose and Matt pulls Jessica into one.

Matt Murdock, who likes to think of himself as God’s soldier, who thinks the world is on his shoulders and tends to make everything his responsibility is the perfect balancing act to Jessica Jones’s refusal to play the role of super hero. To her utter shirking of the very idea that any form of special strength could suddenly make her responsible to use it.

They both have a tendency to be wallowing assholes. But they’re assholes that have very little tolerance with each other’s coping mechanisms and would drag each other out of their slumps real fast. Jessica will mock Matt for his self flagellating hero complex, and his inability to stop long enough for a rib to heal endlessly, and Matt would never stand for Jessica’s tendency to lock herself away and self destruct into a hot mess for months.

They both have pasts. And they both already know about each other’s pasts. In their brief time together they found a way to tell each other that they knew about the cards they were holding close, the ones they kept from everyone. And never once did either of them try to mock, exploit, or discredit the other person with that information.

Jessica doesn’t care about saving people. Matt cares about saving everyone. They both save each other- Jessica’s first time meeting Elektra is to slam a car into her, and the first time Matt is Daredevil around Jessica he saves her life

Jessica, while telling him his horns are stupid, still only ever supports Matt. She never tells him not to be Daredevil, even though she herself hates the idea of having to be a superhero. She understands what brought him here. And it seems to inspire her to stand up for something. To maybe be a little more than she was before.

So whether you love them as Bros or ship them romantically, I think it’s safe to say that Jessica Jones is the healthiest relationship Matt Murdock has had in a long time. And they just both deserve and need each other so much.

NCIS: Sydney 1×03 “Brothers in Arms” is about Blue, but it’s mostly about what this team is – or about what it’s shaping up to be. It’s early yet, and not all dynamics have been fully established, and even the ones that have aren’t really entrenched. These are people who liked each other, at best. People who are learning to trust each other. We have a long way to go for more.

But they are people who have recognized what works, and the team does just that. It works. They complement each other really well, and ever since those first dark days at the beginning of “Gone Fission,” they haven’t even clashed all that much, other than good-naturedly. Instead, the NCIS: Sydney team is a pretty well-oiled machine, all things considered. And Blue, even though she had a hard time seeing it, was – is – an essential part of that.

Anxiety Is A Bad Advisor

Blue spends the entire episode putting herself down, second-guessing not just her place – albeit temporary – on the team, but whether the people around her like her enough to even share a drink with her as a farewell. Considering that, everyone should have been a bit nicer and put her out of her misery before, but what Blue was feeling isn’t something that can be fixed by external validation. Not fully.

Whatever her place is, or will end up being, at NCIS: Sydney, Blue is going to have to figure that out on her own, and once she does, she’s going to have to own it. Not because it’s what Mackey would want, or because JD was nice about it, but because of herself. NCIS: Sydney 1×03 “Brothers in Arms” is very early on, of course. We cannot expect the show to fix every character issue, and in fact, we wouldn’t want it to.

Instead, we want this. Setup for the journeys each character has to take, internally. The rest is just in delivering, but when you do such a good job in setting up the characterization, the rest is very, very easy.

Politics is A Game (We Now Play Together)

Perhaps the most interesting part about the political aspect of NCIS: Sydney 1×03 “Brothers in Arms” is how Mackey and JD handle everything together, in sync. Not just that, but how they do so without the need for a long conversation or a back and forth about who’s in charge or if they should even be trusting each other. They didn’t pick each other, or the jobs they now have. But they are where they are, and they don’t seem the kind of people who are going to pretend to be antagonistic just for the sake of it.

They might not be besties (yet), but it’s clear they work well together, they respect each other and they are going to have each other’s backs. That’s just a given. There doesn’t need to be drama about that.

In that respect, there’s a lot of maturity about the way NCIS: Sydney has handled their relationship. (This is also an 8-episode season, so let’s take that into account as we consider pacing). Sometimes TV dumbs down adult relationships for the sake of showing viewers the tiny little moments. But more often than not, functional adults will just skip those, and if anything, stop at the big ones. We might have to wait a little bit longer for Mackey and JD to get to those, but that’s okay. We can be patient when everything else is working as well as it is on NCIS: Sydney.

Spider people I hope show up in live action MCU:

Miles Morales (most likely to considering his uncle was in Spiderman Homecoming, he was the criminal spidey webbed to the car that mentioned he had a nephew in NYC)

Spider Gwen (I've always liked Gwen Stacey she was probably my favorite spidey character for a long time and I always liked her better for peter than Mary Jane. However her and Miles are cute as well. Also ngl I was hoping Zendaya was going to play her in spider man and not MJ.)

Iron Spider (Amadeus Cho is another kid I'd like to see. He is also the son of Helen Cho and her husband Phil Cho. He also has ties to becoming a future Hulk, so I wouldn't mind seeing him in that role either.)

Spider Woman (Jessica Drew is very interesting. Her father, who expiremented on her to give her these powers, worked as the assistant to the High Evolutionary in the comics. It would be interesting if they built this into the movies lore. She is also from England, so it would be interesting to see a spider person who is outside the US. Also, as of right now, in the comic books, she has a young son. It would be kinda cool to see a mother blance superhero life and motherhood.)
