Kanye West-Yeezus- Blood on The Leaves
This might be my favorite lyric on Kanye's Yeezus album due to the uncomfortable reality that it applies to most modern day relationships. How sad is it when the depth of a real relationship failed gets boiled down to revenge Instagrams projecting one's shallow reaches at re-establishing attractiveness to the rest of the world--like a big, gaudy neon sign shining "Hey guys, I'm single now." What's worse is when that imagery is used to also project affluence, as though attractiveness and wealth go hand in hand. What's even worse than that, though, is how to most viewers this picture may read as #douche, but due to prior mentioned history you knowingly read it as #insecurity. But, hey, I guess we're all a little guilty #selfie.

Why does commitment sound like "death sentence" to so many people in this city, including myself now? Is this a strictly New York/ Tri-State area issue or the issue for all overly self-involved 20 year olds that get off every morning by the idea that there is something else better out there?
