I'm passionate about knitting, gardening, Star Trek, discworld, feminism, lgbtq issues, hiking, dyeing, moomins. Not necessarily in that order. CNBC, but coming to embrace it mostly.

I’ve dyed yarn! Skeins for progress pride flag projectsl and in addition sock blanks, mostly with the leftover dye from the rainbow project.

And it's finished! I love it. it's based on the tablecloth pattern called Pfingstrosen by Herbert Niebling, yarn is Linarte by Lana Grossa. i started with a swatch, did some calculations on the base of a well fitting top and then did mostly try it on in between to gauge how to proceed.

Progress picture of my summer tee, based on a motif of the tablecloth pattern called Pfingstrosen by Herbert Niebling. On the backside there's the same motif with leaves.

I've got a picture of the bridal garter worn! She cried when I told her it's yarn from her late grandma. Made me happy to see it so well received. Pattern is Molly's Garter by Jodie Gordon Lucas.

It's finished! From a dress with a ripped chiffon skirt to a handdyed lace extravaganza. It's based on a Niebling tablecloth called Blütenstrahlen and one called Pfingstrosen. I've dyed 13 shades for that. I've worn it to my niece's wedding this week and it was fabulous!

A garter for the bride. OMG was that fiddly, especially grafting. The crochet thread is from her grandma, so old and new in one.

I'm finally casting off, over 5000 stitches! The wedding I want to wear this to is next week, so I need to power through. I'm confident I'm going to make it, though! It's going to be sewn onto a jersey dress. I've handdyed the yarn especially for this project. I've run out of yarn for the last two rows, but I think the dark purple I found is a good match. It's based on the Niebling patterns Blütenstrahlen and Pfingstrosen.

Started the last section of the overlay skirt for a dress. I'm at 1680 stitches per row, 33 rows left - I am quite positive to be able to finish it in time for a wedding in May. It's exciting to knit as I'm mashing up two different tablecloth patterns now, Blütenstrahlen and Pfingstrosen by Herbert Niebling.
The yarn is handdyed by me especially for this project.

I'm finished with my new favorite cardigan. It's so comfy!
It's an amalgamation of several patterns: the shape of Shusui Shrug by Susanne Sommer, the brioche sections patterned like Myriad by Cate Carter-Evans and the garter sections based roughly on Turning roads shawl by Raina Knuus.

Rechtzeitig zur Wahl am Sonntag fertig. Noch nie hat mir eine Wahl soviel Bauchschmerzen gemacht wie diese. Bitte nutzt eure Stimme für die Demokratie!
This sunday there are elections in Germany. I've never been as nervous for an election, since the right-wing party AFD gains so much popularity. My embroidery is a play on words. a play on words. In German, “rechts gestrickt” means knitted in stockinette stitch. “Rechts” means also right-wing. So it means right is only knitted (and not voted for).

Getting an UFO into WIP status again! It's almost a year that I haven't knit on that. I'm knitting an overlay skirt for that green dress and did some blocking to estimate if the length will be good. The yarn is handdyed by me especially for this project and the skirt is based on a tablecloth, Blütenstrahlen from Herbert Niebling. I would like to finish it for a wedding in May.

I'm casting the bottom of my shawl cardi thingy off! I've run out of the variegated yarn, but I'm using a brown yarn with a subtle sheen instead now, from the grab box of Hamburger Wollfabrik.

It's an amalgamation of several patterns: the shape of Shusui Shrug by Susanne Sommer, the brioche sections patterned like Myriad by Cate Carter-Evans and the garter sections based roughly on Turning roads shawl by Raina Knuus.

My nephew moved into his first own apartment 😱 this was part of my housewarming gift as he is a fan of the rapper Cro. I think it was well received, he said they were to precious to be used! So they decorate the kitchen wall now.

I finished these a while ago, but my pregnant niece first got them yesterday. The hat was without a pattern, the cardi is the Newborn Vertebrae and the booties are Shake more sockies

Happy holidays and hogswatch to everyone! I've finished my trio of knitted star trek ornaments, which now adorn our geeky tree. The uniform of Beckett Mariner is with a sad and a laughing eye, with the finale of the final season out 😭
Also an homage to the great Majel Barrett as the most wonderful, complex and life-affirming Lwaxana Troi. And awesome Wesley Crusher with one of his amazing sweaters.
Special to my heart is also the death of rats that I made together with my husband some years ago. It was a set of two, one of them I gave to my late grandma who introduced me to the Discworld.

It's hard to photograph, but I've separated the sleeves on my shawl with sleeves thing. It's an amalgamation of several patterns: the shape of Shusui Shrug by Susanne Sommer, the brioche sections patterned like Myriad by Cate Carter-Evans and the garter sections based roughly on Turning roads shawl by Raina Knuus.
