But you also mentioned gutted machines. That's a bit easier imo. As a disclaimer, I am doing my damnedest to avoid AI! If any slip through, please let me know!!!!
Credit to r/engineeringporn for a lot of these

Sorry for putting this in the transformers tag but does anyone know where I can find reference images of what the insides of their bodies look like? Like from any comic or series.
I mean like their “skeletons” and “guts” and such.
Also I’m looking for like images of inside of tech stuff? Like computers and such. And also the guts of cars and such.
I wanna draw robot gore accurately

Might as well reblog this just in case it gets too long. And so I can find it later. Also, just as a side note, I am not really used to mobile, so I'll do my best.
While TFwiki does not have a single page dedicated to canon anatomy, they do have a category, which can be found here. It's not much, but it may help.
Now, linebreak time for gore. Robogore, but still gore. So if someone stumbles on this, ye have been warned.
IDW 1 has plenty of examples of robotic gore. Being that it was a "dark and gritty" at times, a lot of examples tend to be pulled from later parts. IDW 2 has some pretty gnarly moments ad well. Skybound is the most recent, though a bit more of a mess of cables and parts by comparison. There's more beyond that, but I'll provide what I can! It would be easier to take pictures myself, but it is 5 am jdjdjdj

Skittering up the walls on the albino point (I am a genetics nerd, h e l p).
It can happen in my AU. A mech with what is basically Albinism is grey, with some faint colouring of pink/purple/blue/whatever colour I decide Energon is in some places. I also imagine the optics are either white, or don't glow much at all.
And since my old post got eaten by the tumblr gods, piebald and leucism also exist. It causes whatever the base grey of a mech (grey tone of joints, internals, usually the face though not always) to be extended onto more of the frame.
I'd imagine Albinism is terrifying though. Other mechs paranoid of a shambling corpse, while the Albino mech is just like "???".
I saw a post that describes how Transformers with pink or pink related colours would be terrifying because it's the colour of their blood. Same thing with grey coloured Transformers since they'd look like dead bodies.
What if, pink Transformers are like our equivalent to redheads. And grey Transformers are just robot albinism or like someone with greying hair issues. That would make some sense because if I was Megatron, I'd have premature grey hairs too.

I have a few weirdos for my AU because yea, I wanna see weird critters!!! I hope to figure out more, but it's not easy.
1) A box-shaped creature that walks on for legs akin to those Spot robots. Their heads are small, sitting on telescoping necks hidden on the underside of their body. When threatened, the box unfurls into a massive, colorful display, probably 2-3 times the original size. The actual body is very small.
2) More of a concept, but been working on potential giant sauropod-like creatures. Biggest difference is that they seemingly have 2 heads, likely have more than four limbs, and were so long that they could only live in wide, flat areas. They went extinct, but their rusting frames can sometimes be stumbled across.
3) A tall creature that has a stance similar to a mantis, but only has four legs and no arms. Their forelegs are much longer than the rear legs. Their head is mostly two giant optic arrays, while their "mouth" is a long, thin structure like a tick. They communicate using pulsing frills on their necks, which change colour like cuttlefish do.
I also extend this to stuff like plants. I described one more like living solar panels that unfurl during the day, or maybe like tube worms on the ocean floor.
Idk, making weird ecosystems is fun imo!
we need to get weirder about cybertronian wildlife

I need to remake my insecticon post, don't I? Been seeing a lot of love for them lately, and I 100% agree with this post on em. I'll worry about remaking the whole thing when my head is clear and it's not late at night, but I'll give a little ramble here.
For my AU, the Insecticons are a people. A people that doesn't live in cities, or transform into vehicles that the Senate can classify. Instead, they're tight family units, or those who come together to face hard times. They are woven into the ecosystem as hunters, scavengers, and protectors of their fallible god.
But they aren't treated that way because the other Cybertronians, those who do live in cities and have vehicle alt modes that can be shoved into castes, see them as vile. Their mannerisms are strange, their acts barbaric, they live by no laws, yadda yadda, Senate nonsense, Senate nonsense...
But i like the idea that they're just a people who lives differently. They just want to live in the way that they have, and not bother anyone else.
Insecticons kinda deserve better.
You know how history is only told by the victors, and how they usually have biases and don’t always tell the full truth?
Maybe it’s that way with the Insecticons.
They’re treated like they’re some sort of creepy-crawly, Frankenstein’s monster. All because they sometimes help the Decepticons and are often in large hoards with one group leader.
All the reasons they’re “creepy” and “evil” to me sound like how we generally describe insects (which is probably the point). Spiders are creepy because of appearance and the fact that they can kill.
Bees and wasps can sting, flies are annoying and poo and pee on our food; butterflies are pretty but look creepy up close, same with moths.
Ants? Steal food and infest homes. Termites? Creepy, disgusting and destroy things.
But most of these insects aren’t inherently evil or dangerous. They’re like sharks. Their need and will to survive is misunderstood as malicious intent.
And I think that’s a characteristic of the Insecticons that isn’t considered or talked about nearly enough. Obviously, it’s probably not canon, but even still, this analysis and others are still interesting things to consider, y’know?

Ah yes, the bug i hold gentle who's only unique ability is to kick things.
But yeah he really needs to be in more mainstream stuff! Starscream having to deal with Kickback in any way just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, hehehe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For my screen writing class last semester I ended up writing a pilot for my transformers fan continuity, complete with a pitch deck and potential episode summaries. One of the plots involved Starscream having to negotiate with Kickback. This was for the extremely plot relevant and thematic reason that I love Kickback and I wish he was in more stuff

When you're an undiagnosed neurodivergent and ask your neurodivergent friend if it's normal to think this way.
Art by me (Ukiyoebirds). Script by @krazycat6167. Who is just so good at writing soft poignant moments that stab me in the heart.
May need to click on the image for better resolution.

love the idea of the transformers being seen as cryptids in their respective universes. optimus being a ghost truck with no rider cruising down a lonely highway, offering help to those lost on the side of the road. starscream, the phantom f22 with no callsign who won't respond to any radio signals. ratchet as the lone ambulance that isn't registered to any local hospital, but will sometimes rush people to the emergency room without warning. mirage being a porsche without a driver that'll playfully race other drivers on lonely roads, then seemingly vanish into thin air. the potential is incredible.

Yesss finally refound your post so I can brainrot.
Okay, so there's a lot for me. I'll go over seekers as collective and then trines. Easiest way for me to go about it.
Seekers are not their own species. They are a race of Cybertronian who practice their own beliefs and culture in Vos. All of them are alt-mode exempt due to the meer possibility of another Quintesson Invasion. Because of this, they are treated as higher caste individuals despite being war frames. With such freedoms, they eventually developed their own culture, and even language.
Originally people led by Leige Maximo, Seekers are an increasingly rare frame type. The Well seems to be able to create trines (they always come in 3s) with similar genetic traits, thus meaning they all roughly share the same frame type, despite not being actually related outside of their trines.
Vosnian is a difficult language for many other mechs to learn. While there are vocal portions to it, it is mostly a non-verbal language. The various parts of, including the entirety, of the wings do most of the bruntwork. Spoken word is used for emphasis mostly. Because of this they come off as typically standoffish and self centered (though this is true for some).
Conjunx to a Seeker are required to deal with their trine, and the rest of the trine's families. Despite the stereotypes, Vosnians are surprisingly social. If you can't handle them as a family, you sure as the Pit can't handle them alone. Conjunx between seekers often ends with the trines becoming one family, each a certain group (ie: 3 pairs if 2 trines) that makes one part of this family. Trinemates do not Conjunx with the same individual as their sibling, however.
Outliers, mechs with unusual abilities, were originally outcast and imprisoned. However, after a changing of the Vosnian Lord, this rule was removed.
The elite trine, Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker, were the leaders of Vos after the previous Lord was...disappeared. Starscream was the Lord, while his trinemates, his siblings, acted as his closest advisors and guards. Despite his reputation as a coward, the red, white, and blue seeker was an excellent Lord. Going as far as to attempt to argue with the Senate when the Crackdown began. Thundercracker acted as head of intelligence and communication. While not ask skilled as many others, he could create private channels when necessary, getting into contact with the rising Decepticons. Despite that, he's a prolific playwright, though he doesn't always share his stories. Skywarp, meanwhile, was head of optics and defense. A surprise, given their rather careless demeanor at times. However, their teleportation ability allows them to easily sneak around, though it requires line of sight to a location, or risk instability.
The Rainmakers, meanwhile, aren't a typical trine. Their own trines are either long gone, or abandoned them before the elite trine came to power. The leader, Nova Storm, is one of the oldest Seekers known. She was even around when the Primes were fighting the Quintesson Invasion. While still more built for defense than others, her outlier ability is the fact she can constantly produce fire and be...relatively fine (she totally isn't in pain from time to time). She is rough around the edges, and easy to piss off, but does care about her little found family. Ion Storm isn't much different. Constantly crackling with electricity, he's equally as cold if not worse. He's solitary, not really wanting to spend time with others regardless of who. He cares most about Acid Storm, who he sees as a little sibling. Acid Storm is both trinemates' foil. Overly energetic and warm to others to a fault, they're also the local menace. Their ability, one that allows them to create highly corrosive acids, was one they had to learn to control. Even biting someone can be deadly for the victim! They often don't understand why their siblings are so distant from other Seekers, never really able to "grow up."
Then there's Sunstorm. Trineless, radioactive to the point being near him will melt armour and mesh, and believing in some form of terrifying enlightenment. No one knows where he came from. It is believed he was a failed, and escaped, experiment of Shockwave, but no one knows for certain. No matter how you look at him something is just Off.
Sadly don't have much for anyone else, but maybe in the future <3
Anyone got any seeker headcanons? I'd love to hear them.

Because this website apparently hates me, new pinned comment
Hi! I go by Corn, and I've been developing a Transformers AU for over a decade! Lovingly referred to as the Rebellionverse, it's my little passion project!
Designs within this AU are heavily inspired by G1 and the various comics. The story is very dark, and characters traditionally made bad guys aren't anymore.
This universe is built around my personal wishes for a canon universe, as well as things that represent me! I am huge genetics nerd, so that leaks in as well.
Unlike last time, ALL posts are gonna be archived on my computer. If I get my old blog back I will keep this one as, well, a backup.
