Back then where I had to fake my death in your arms in order not to get caught as a demonic being lingering in the human world.

Back then, just to save you——from getting your frail little body hit by that heavy glass bottle, I didn't grant even a second thought to delay and rushed out and had myself take that blow for you. That strike that would've caused you serious injuries if I didn't stop it——But that was also the blow that should've ended up being fatal for the little kitten that I was supposed to be.

However being not actually a kitten of the human world, but a demonic being that could heal easily from any physical injuries, even though I couldn't have die so easily like that, for the sake of escaping the terrible fate of the consequences that I would have forced to face if I'm to be found out being this unearthly existence that I am—to avoid ending up in the same tragedy as my mother, I had reacted the most natural way I should—and ‘died’ the same way where a kitten would——after suffering a fatal blow.

But…did you know? I didn't actually die.

I was only holding back my breath, remained in a limp unmoving form in your arms, commencing the perfect performance of being dead——

But even when all was dark behind my lids, I could still hear your devastated voice crying over my sudden ‘death’.

That tiny figure leaning over me, shaking intensely like the leaves of a small tree being blown in the presence of a thunderous breeze, followed by the tears that fall on my body like the drizzle of an upcoming harsh weather, like a storm that would soon form the saddest tide, drowning the whole world with it's relentless sorrow…

Listening to your miserable cries along the way, I almost regretted my decision of sacrificing myself right there and then and putting you in such a broken state.

Listening to your painful whiles over me, there were many times when I was tempted to hop up and be ‘resurrected’ in your arms within the instance, to lick your tears away and comfort you just as I always did…(3)

But thinking about the situation at hand... In the end, I held back the selfish desire and remained with you cradling my body, feeling the tears falling on my face one drop after another... Finally, as you moved me to another place and buried my body under the soil–

Where I could finally be allowed to ‘rest in peace’ there…
