I understand the senti Adrien theory is a delicate one in this fandom but I feel it’s important to say that whether or not Adrien is or isn’t a senti-monster, his experiences we’ve seen in his story are very real. 

This isn’t a post to theorize if Adrien is a senti-monster or to disprove it. I just wanted to bring attention to the most important aspect in all this. 

Adrien is someone who has his own wants and desires.  

someone who has his own thoughts and opinions

someone who can feel love,

happiness, 

anger, 

jealousy,

and pain 

Not to mention Adrien can feel physical pain, suffer from allergies, get sick, is able to age etc. 

If Adrien were a senti-monster that doesn’t make him any less human. Being human is having conscious thought, the ability to make make decisions, to feel things and to react to them. Everything that he feels is real and it shouldn’t matter if he is or isn’t a senti-monster because at the end of the day that shouldn’t and doesn’t invalidate his experiences. The show is teaching us that advance senti-monsters as so alike to humans that they deserve freewill and be able to control their own paths. 

This possibility wouldn’t erase Adrien’s personality, feelings, and his actions. The fact that the fandom is discussing if Adrien could be a senti-monster kinda proves the point the show is telling us, that senti-monsters are just like humans and there is no difference between them except for the creation of the person.  

Again, this isn’t a post to prove how he could be a senit-monster or not, but a post about how nothing should invalidate Adrien’s very real experiences and his very real emotions. Adrien is real period.

I think we’re safe. If Adrien were a sentimonster, he should’ve spazzed when he got hit with that cataclysm in Miraculer.

Félix hasn’t been Cataclysmed yet, though, so that theory could still be valid. And would explain quite a few things.

(lowkey i actually think the cataclysm is the most damning evidence that he IS...... astruc once described the cataclysm's effect on a sentimonster as "breaking its ties to its object" (i cant find it atm so if anyone can?), so basically giving the sentimonster free will (and seemingly putting them in a lot of pain). sentimonsters seem to rampage post-cataclysm because they suddenly arent chained and are suddenly in a lot of pain that they'd never experienced before, which in turn makes them go ballistic, like distressed animal. but chat noir wasn't being actively controlled in the first place... so if he theoretically were a sentimonster, we'd expect cataclysm to just put him in a lot of pain. ........ which is....... exactly what it did............ which also, mind you, is not what cataclysm has ever been implied by the narrative to do to regular living organisms (e.g. the akuma butterfly turning to dust in chat blanc, chat noir saying "lucky that I cataclysmed (and killed) an android, because if i cataclysmed a person it would've done irreparable harm" in NY special, volpina's illusion of chat noir turning to dust in heroes' day, all the citizens of paris turning to dust *except him* in chat blanc..........) )

THIS EPISODE WAS AMAZING! ROSE IS SO CUTEEE!! But, can we just talk about why haven’t they used this miraculous before? Its the miraculous of joy/happiness right? They are literally fighting people who are akumatized by purple butterfly’s that feeds off NEGATIVE emotions. Just saying.

“Cat Noir! Cataclysm Heart-Masters broach! That's where the akuma is!” Ladybug hollered. She only had 3 minutes left until she would detransform. Ladybug rapped her ladybug-themed yo-yo around Heart-Master. That was when it happened, HeartMaster got hold of her yo-yo and flung Ladybug against the wall.

“Ouch!” She cried. Ladybug rubbed her head. No major damage, she thought.

“You alright LB?” Cat Noir asked.

“Yeah fine.” She groaned “Let's just get this over with, please.”

“As you wish.” Ladybug swung her yo-yo at Heart-Master again. This time she wrapped it around his legs so he couldn’t get back up. “Now Cat Noir!” She exclaimed. “Aye, aye captain!”

Cat Noir called for his special power of destruction and grabbed Heart-Masters violet heart-shaped broach. A little purple and black butterfly fluttered out of the now broken broach. Before the butterfly could fly any higher ladybug caught it in her yo-yo like usual and de-evilized it. “Bye, bye little butterfly” She smiled.

“Pound it” The two ladybug and cat-themed heroes said in unison while fist-bumping one another. “See you soon M’ladybug.” Cat noir gently took ladybug’s hand and placed a soft kiss on it. “Hopefully not too soon.” She replied with a small giggle hoping Cat Noir wouldn’t notice. He already had enough of an ego as it is. Ladybug sighed as she headed back to her house. Ladybug arrived at her house with her trap door still open and landed gracefully on her soft bed.

“Tikki, spots off.” She said to release her transformation as ladybug. “Tikki?” Why wasn't she detransforming? What was happening?

“Marinette honey? Are you still awake?” Sabine, Marinette’s mom asked. It was nearly midnight when she got back from that tiring akuma attack. I need to hide. Ladybug thought. She would have to worry about not being able to detransform later. She quickly dove underneath her covers on her bed.

“Marinette?” Her mother lifted the trap door that led to her pink room. “Oh, you’re asleep.” She whispered and headed back downstairs. At that ladybug came out of the covers and examined herself in the mirror. Yep, she still indeed was ladybug. “I need help…” Ladybug thought out loud. She grabbed her yo-yo that was placed on her hip and tried calling a certain black cat. “Come on…” “Pick up!” He must not be transformed. It is late after all. She thought.

Ladybug didn’t get any sleep that night, she had too much going on in her head like: I hope Tikkis okay. What am I going to do for school?! How will I get in contact with Cat Noir before an akuma appears? BEEP BEEP. Oh no. It was Marinette's alarm. School would start in about 10 minutes and she still hasn't figured out what she was supposed to do.

Ladybug put on some jeans and a long sleeve shirt. Now she would have to do something about her face. Ladybug grabbed the biggest raincoat she could find and put the hoodie on. “Bye, mom!” She gave a quick wave and rushed out the door before her mom could ask any questions.

This would have to work. She hoped.

The walk to school was extremely easy due to her powers. But, she looked like she was about to mug someone. Today was going to be one long day.

Next thing she knew she was in her first class. As usual, Alya was already in the classroom along with Alex and Nino. “Marinette-?” Alay questioned. “What with the getup?”

“Oh, you know… It’s just so cold outside.” Marinette lied.

“Are you okay Marinette? You’re not sick are you?”

“I’m um. I’m fine, hahaha…” Marinette squeaked.

“Marinette, you know hoods are prohibited inside the classroom.” Their teacher spoke up. “Oh, right sorry.” Marinette began to slowly pull down her hoodie trying to think of ways to get out of this situation.

“Miss? May I please go to the restroom?” Marinette dismissed herself and headed out of the school. Going to school wasn’t an option until she gets this figured out. And going home wasn’t an option either. I guess she would just have to wait out the time until her and Cat Noir’s patrol.

Adrien’s POV:

Was Adrien worried about Marinette? Of course, she was. She was one of his great friends after all.

He was especially starting to worry when Marinette excused herself to the restroom and never came back the rest of the day. “Adrien, Nino and I are headed over to Marinette’s house to see if she’s alright. Want to come?” Adrien would love to go and see if Marinette was okay, but: “I’m sorry I can’t. I have a photoshoot I need to go to.” He sighed.

He would just have to stop by Marinette’s later that night as Cat Noir. She wouldn’t mind, would she?

Lost in thought Adrien looked out the window of the school. A sudden flash of red and black pasted the window. He got a good view of her. Wow, she is beautiful. Adrien thought. Then he saw something unexpected, as Ladybug turned to the side he got a perfect view of her earrings and her- Adrien refused to let that thought finish. He was better than that.

But the earrings are what caught his attention the most. He had admired them many times, and something seemed different about them now. He looked closer. Her earring had a small line in them as if they were cracked. Oh no, that can’t be good.

Marinette’s POV:

Marinette Watched with heavy eyes as her friends made their way over to her home. She wished she could tell them she was alright and safe. “Hello, Ma’am. Marinette left in the middle of the school day and we wanted to know if she is okay?”

“I’m sorry dears, Marinette hasn’t been home all day.” Marinette just wanted to scream right there and then. Scream that she was there and fine. Gosh, she hated when people worried about her, it always made her feel so guilty.

As the sunsetted above the Paris sky, ladybug looked at her yo-yo impatient. 5:58 PM Is what it read. Their patrol would be any minute now.

Ladybug watched as the black-leathered cat superhero came into view. “Hey, M’lady.”

“Chat, I’m scared.” “I can’t detransform. I’m worried about Tikki, what do I do?!” Cat noir made an odd expression. His eyes were caring, but they hid something she couldn’t quite put a finger on. Chat Noir spoke before she could examine his strange expression any further.

“Ladybug,” Marinette’s heart skipped a beat as he said her alter ego’s name. “I think your Miraculous is Cracked.” Make sure to check me out on WattPad for early chapters!
