Hide politely picked up one of the presented pieces; as well as casually looked it over, sniffing it before actually eating it. Well, it wasn’t bad actually, though sweeter than what he was accustomed to. So much so that he struggled not to grimace in confusion too openly; instead he pretended to scratch his face, thinking about his reply.

Communicating was naturally an issue here; there was only so much Hide could say in gestures. Writing was a possibility but it was slower. Naomasa’s words brought out a small smirk though; perhaps he could indeed look a little intimidating. Hide gestured all around them, even towards the servant; clearly he was still doing well enough. 

Then he looked thoughtful before making a gesture as if drawing something on the floor, arching an eyebrow at the other. Paper, a brush and ink would make this a lot easier. 

All of this, if one wasn’t familiar with the Ii clan history, is because of his aunt who became his mother of sorts. Adoptive mother, in any case that was history and now the leadership of the Ii clan belonged to him. He could go on and on about the whole thing, about how much drama there actually was to fill a noh theatre, but he suppose now is not the time. 

 “Ah, forgive me. I wasn’t made aware of your problem.” Perhaps it was a lost cause, to think of normal men and women everyday when yokai roam their world. as long as spirit stones exist, the sight of yokai is more common than one would think. 

He claps his hands again. 

 “Paper, and ink.” it would take a while. Having to grind the inkstone. the servants bow and leave.

Hide lowered his hand, resting both over his knees now where he sat cross legged. He did relax, perhaps a bit warily still. At least this man didn’t seem ready to question what he was exactly, as of yet. 

At the question, he tilted his head to the side. Ah, the foreigners. He knew Nobunaga had been fond of them. It was perhaps now in later years that Hide had started to appreciate some aspects of them. Mostly to be polite, and some curiosity, he held up three fingers to indicate the last choice offered. 

 “Alright, alright.” he claps his hands, and a servant appears with the mentioned sweets. though since it was a sudden order, Naomasa presented the man with all of the sweets. at the ready as it seems. 

 “And how are you doing these days? For me, I am tasked with delegating with the foreigners. Though I suppose it is ill suited for me since my scars make me ....intimidating to them.”

Hide wasn’t very involved in the matters of those above him; had no interest in it either. He killed yokai, had always killed yokai in some form. Even if that meant he had to cut down former friends, then so be it. All yokai could be dangerous, even himself. 

As he sat quietly, he looked towards Li Naomasa; without bothering to lower his gaze as perhaps he should. Had never quite bothered with those things in the first place and this man was fascinating. So many scars and as far as Hide was concerned, he was an ally, or at least had been. Now that nothing dire seemed to threaten Japan again, he and Mumyo had simply gone back to their duties of slaying any yokai that decided to appear.

It was a simple life, one he’d missed back when Tokichiro had been younger. Before all the wars and the spirit stones occurred.

Raising his hand, he rested his fingers against his chin, giving the other an expectant look. Hide was nothing but a mercenary right now; immortal or not, yokai or not. It wasn’t his place to ‘speak’.   

 “Now now. We have no need for such tenseness. My informants said you have been great help to the tokugawa, wether you did so intentionally or not is not the problem.” he is all smiles despite the great aches that surround his body, as Naomasa Ii, he is one who will never give in. As did his own aunt. The tragedy of his family is all past now that he has taken the head of the house. 

 “Would you like some sweets? Dango? Or perhaps some exotic chocolates? The foreigners have truly brought some interesting food with them.”

Ametris, is much much more different than xing. For one thing the streets are wider at a constant distance, and another thing, it was less full of trash. literal trash , though the high rise buildings were rather... big. 

And who needed a library that big too. but as one of the candidates for emperor, he half heartedly pursued ametris for his goal. 

 Alas, the good books were locked under the state alchemist title and he’s sitting on the stairs of the grand old library, a bit defeated. His ...appearance gathering a few looks.

 “It seems we have met...differently.” for one thing, the one in front of him was certainly dead and also they both had a near death experience, but ever since his natural death. Coming to such a world is...tiresome.
