Sinners is an excellent horror film for many reasons, but to me the most central is that it is horror with something interesting to say and ask. The film explores the ways in which colonialism, white supremacy, and racial capitalism impact how people form relationships, build community, create art, practice spirituality, connect to history, and value other people. It also has something interesting to ask about what it means to be someone who is part of a population that is considered ontologically always dying and already dead.
As you consider these themes, I would like to ask you to extend your thoughts to Fadel. Like the fictional protagonist Sammie, Fadel is a talented, kind, young adult who has dreams for his life and enduring love for his family and community.
He is a disabled and injured Palestinian in Gaza, part of a population who much of the world reduces to their suffering and deaths, as if their early death is an inevitability. It is not. It is preventable.
He is alive right now. You can message him, check in on him, extend your love and care to him ( @fadel-dani ). He needs some money to get to a hospital resourced enough to treat his injuries after a bombing. I know you can empathize with being in pain, with health care being inaccessible and stunningly expensive. You have common humanity with him. You understand him.
Fadel is not a story. His future is not fated or scripted or set in stone. The way his life unfolds is entirely dependent on the social systems around him and the decisions of people who have resources, especially people like us who are not in active genocide, who get pay checks every couple weeks or every month.
Your decisions matter. Please help him out.
His campaign is vetted by: @gazavetters list (#197) and @90-ghost and @a-shade-of-blue

(This post is brought to you by the fact that tumblr are, hilariously, claiming that 50% of current users are gen z, and I wanna see how accurate claim that is.)
My friend Zina @zinaanqar16 contacted me TODAY and told me that her daughter Ronza is suffering from malnutrition and anemia, which was confirmed after recent medical tests. She cries day and night because there is no milk or proper food available for her. She sent me pictures of her back and stomach, just some bones covering her soft skin. This innocent child should not have this happen to her. The same is true for her three siblings, who are also going hungry. Please donate to her vetted campaign (#213 on the vetted Gaza fundraisers list) so she can feed her children and keep them safe without risking her life. Food is outrageously expensive and the situation is URGENT!. Please donate and share widely!
If you would like to Donate Today, this beautiful Ronza deserves a better life as much as her eyes do.

🚨Take a moment to imagine your child or loved one. What would you do for them? How far would you go to protect them and shield them from pain, loss and despair🚨
I am Marwa, a mother of three girls, Belasan, Joan and Nada, ages 7 to 14. 🔊🔉🔈I will take a moment to share my story.📢📣
My children and I lived under bombardment and aggression. We had a safe home full of dreams and a bright future for my daughters.
Tumblr media
But everything changed when the war on Gaza began. Our house, which we built with strength and effort before the war, was destroyed.
Tumblr media
We lost our job, which was our only source of income. The journey of displacement and moving from one place to another began without the minimum necessities of life. We faced difficulties in providing healthy food and clean water. We lived in fear and terror. My daughters could no longer sleep from the intensity of fear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My mother-in-law suffers from serious lung infections and chronic diseases, and we find it difficult to provide appropriate treatment for her, especially in the winter and the bitter cold. She is part of our family after losing her husband. We are now without shelter, moving from one place to another, and struggling to survive. Today we have no income, no life, and no work. We are determined to rebuild our dreams, secure our future, and rebuild our home. We cannot do this alone and we need your help in building our lives. Your support, no matter how small, can make a big difference. Thank you for helping us find hope on our journey.

In a bombed-out neighborhood of Gaza, Rania, a 26-year-old woman, stood staring at the pile of stones and twisted iron where her home had once stood. The wind was raising dust and whipping it across her cheeks, but she didn't shed a single tear. Her eyes were fixed, as if trying to recall something beyond the destruction: memories, laughter, the smell of bread in the morning, and the fragrant jasmine her mother had planted near the door.
Rania wasn't just a survivor. She was a painter. But her paintings no longer adorned the walls of galleries or small cafes. Now, she painted on the ruins of her homeland, trying to immortalize what could never be recovered.
In her right hand, she held a small, dusty notebook and in her left, a pencil. She sat on a broken stone that had been part of her home's staircase and began to paint. She didn't draw the destruction as it is, but as she saw it: The house standing, the windows open, the white curtains moving in the breeze, her mother calling her from the kitchen, her little brother running down the corridor, and herself looking out from the balcony to draw the sea. She was engraving the lines of memory with her pen as if to say, "Perhaps flying can erase walls, but no one can erase what I draw." A young neighbor passed by, recognized her, and asked, "Are you still drawing despite everything?" She replied, without taking her eyes off the paper, "I don't draw despite everything... I draw because everything is over." Rania's drawings spread across the internet, and people began to see her destroyed house through her eyes. One painting was titled "The House as It Was," another: "The Room I Dreamed of," and "The Fig Tree That Didn't Last the Season." In a world where images proliferate without a soul, Rania's paintings were a window beyond the destruction: an invitation to see not only what was lost, but also what must return. Although she still sleeps in a room without a roof, each painting she creates is a new ceiling for a homeland that never died.

Please help my friends Marah and Mahmoud and their lovely family! They are starving and desperately in need of help!
I believe that something may have happened with the campaign that halted donations since the 21st – that's been resolved for now, so let's get donations back up! Marah's family has only received two donations in the past 2 days, and one was from me! Please, please help my friends!!
I am hosting this campaign !! The money you have all helped raise for this family has kept them alive through this nightmare - please continue to share and donate if you can!
@mahrahpalestine@palestinian95 this campaign is vetted, please check marah's blog(s) out!

If anyone, at all, can match even a 10th of my donation, I'd consider it a massive christmas gift.
Please, help my friend Mohammed. His family is cold, and hungry.
It would mean a great deal to me.
You can find his fundraiser here,

“It was 5 in the morning, and my wife and children were still sleeping when I saw three bulldozers coming from a distance on the village’s main road,” said Raed Srour, 45. “When they approached, I could see that they were accompanied by several military jeeps, and I understood that it was an occupation demolition mission on its way to the village. I wondered where they might be headed. It didn’t occur to me that they were coming for my house.”
A father of four, Raed Srour didn’t know that on Monday morning, he and his family had just spent their last night in their home in the village of Ni’lin, west of Ramallah. Srour’s family had been living in that house for seven years after almost ten years of hard work, building it stone by stone.
Elsewhere in the West Bank on that same day, Israeli forces moved to demolish several more Palestinian homes: in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, a seven-floor residential building was demolished, and in Anata, north of Jerusalem, 14 Palestinian properties received demolition orders. Later in the week, Israeli forces demolished a three-floor residential building in the village of Za’tara east of Bethlehem, in addition to several water wells in Tarqumia, west of Hebron. ..."
"According to UN Data, in 2023, Israel demolished 1,178 Palestinian properties in the West Bank. That number skyrocketed to 1,768 in 2024, and since the beginning of 2025, Israel has already demolished 627 Palestinian properties."

Genocide and occupation target all aspects of life, in addition to destroying life itself. The state of education and employment in Gaza is dire, with schools and universities being targeted for shelling, and internet connectivity very hard to come by.
Isnad (Arabic for "support" or "help") is an initiative that is providing 30 students (15 men and 15 women) with a place to study. The organiser, Mamoud (@ma7moudgaza2) has gotten reinforced cables installed to improve Wifi connectivity in the building.
This is an extremely important service for these students, especially as we're in the middle of finals season. These students need your help in order to be able to graduate, earn an income, and begin rebuilding their lives.
Isnad is soon expected to pay May's rent, and we are far short of our goal. The Chuffed campaign needs to reach $5,000 by April 30th!
Goal: $726 / $2,000 by April 30

At a time when millions of children are starving, there's talk of spending $50 million on a lavish military parade to celebrate a controversial politician's birthday. Mark Hamill's comment sums up the sentiment of many: such a celebration could be met with absolute public outrage. Confusing priorities at a time when we need compassion more than showmanship. URGENT HELP SAVE THE LIFE OF MY CHILD.
Dear humanity,
Please Help Me – My Son May Die at Any Moment.
I'm Amal, a mother of three children, living under the weight of the genocide taking place in Gaza. 🍉
Here’s my story, and I’m reaching out with a hopeful heart 💔✨, hoping someone will feel what my family and I are going through.

Time is running out, and we are facing a critical situation. I am asking for your generosity to help us save him either through a donation or by sharing this urgent plea with others
I beg you, i kiss your feet, to help my son. My son may die at any moment.
I lost most of my family. I'm afraid to lose my son too 🥺
Mohammed deserves to live a happy and healthy life, just like every other child on this earth.
So I humbly ask you to donate even a little or at least reblog this appeal.

PLEASE DON’T SCROLL BY
I don’t know what to share about my life anymore to get people’s attention. We are a family of ten trying to survive in northern Gaza. Our landlord keeps increasing our rent, and we will be at the mercy of the drones and the tanks if we have to leave, on top of having to leave behind all of our belongings. Every kind of food at the market now costs a fortune and there are no jobs available due to the dangerous situation outside, so we have to fully rely on this campaign.
This is a drawing my friend made of me with my dearest sister Soso, who is only four years old and has already suffered so much in her short life. Two wars have come close to killing her and barely had time to know happiness. I want to make it more bearable for her, but I can’t do it alone.
Please help, I swear I’ll be thankful for anything. Share at least if you can’t afford to donate.
✅Vetted by @gazavetters, my number verified on the list is ( #347 )✅

I officially inform you that we have run out of flour and no food is available. Within two days, the flour may run out completely in the Gaza Strip.
We do not have flour and it is expensive because the occupation prevents its entry.
Donate to save our lives from famine.
