Brian Wilson is just about game ready.
It would be very smart for the Red Sox to sign him with Bailey gone for the season.

While pitchers and catchers officially report today, we have a lot of position players that showed up as well. The Globe reports that Middlebrooks, Pedroia, Hassan, Bogaerts, Bradley Jr, and Napoli are all there today working out.
John Henry spoke with the media.
Ryan Dempster also spoke with the media and said he hasn’t forgotten that Middlebrooks took him deep, joked that in pitchers BP he might have to throw one behind him.
Glad to see top prospects Xander Bogaerts and Jackie Bradley Jr in the cage taking BP with the likes of Pedroia, Middlebrooks, Salty, and Napoli.

Agreed.
Koji
The Koji Uehara signing was actually great for the Red Sox. Only 1 year and under 5 mil for a pitcher that 10.76 K/BB rate (meaning he strikes out 10 batters for every walk) since becoming a reliever in 2010.

Is the big, enormous, egregious contract era over in baseball?
After the Sox trade this past season and the Marlins trade last night...is the era of big contracts over? Are GM's finally waking up? P.S. yes I'm alive and back on Tumblr.

Why I hate A-Rod
My hatred for the New York Yankees is something that comes naturally, being a Red Sox fan. It’s in our blood. The feeling is mutual in all Yankees fans, too. But Alex Rodriguez (aka A-Rod) holds a special place in my heart as someone I will always loathe, and this is one big reason why.
In the 2004 American League Championship Series (ALCS), the Bronx Bombers had the  Boston Red Sox up against the wall: on the verge of a sweep, trusty closer Mariano “Mo” Rivera failed to finish the job in Game 4, only one out from taking the Yankees to the World Series. The Sox began an unprecedented comeback from a 3-game deficit in a best-of-7 series, and in Game 6, THIS happened…
The Red Sox were up 4-0, and Bronson Arroyo was called in to relief pitch for Curt Schilling. Derek Jeter was on first base for the Yankees, and Alex Rodriguez was up to bat. In the GIF photoset above, you’ll see that A-Rod hit a ground-out, fielded by Arroyo, however while running down the first-base line, he swatted the ball out of Arroyo’s glove to avoid being tagged. While what happened was obvious, and that Alex obviously cheated to score Jeter, he still had a shocked look on his face when the umpires called him out and sent Jeter back to first base.
He tried to argue that it was simply his running motion. You can clearly see he intentionally swatted the ball.

Immediately after this, the game was almost prematurely ended because Yankees fans began throwing their beer bottles and litter onto the field.
Because A-Rod was caught cheating.
Rodriguez has a history of bad sportsmanship, the use of performance-enhancing drugs and even initiating bad blood with his own teammates. This just put it on national television.
A-Rod is a bitch.

Good news for Jackie Bradley Jr
After a scary incident in last night's Sea Dogs game, Bradley seems to be ok today. After Bradley took the first pitch of the game to right field for a single, he turned his left ankle making the turn at second base on a Jeremy Hazelbaker base hit. He was removed from the game, but was able to put weight on the left leg, giving hope that it is not a serious injury.

I've always thought this too. Why not try?
If I was Ben Cher I'd actually option down Clayton Mortenson and test him as a starter again in AAA.
He can pitch innings clearly, so why not? Can’t be worse than Beckett and Lester
