different flavor of post this time, but i can't wait for if they add deadpool into marvel rivals so heres some of my ideas for his kit

he'd be a frontline dps (duelist) with two sets of weapons, katanas and guns. for his katanas, they could work similar to magiks but less damage and faster movement. he could have a spin slash ability, where he hits multiple targets at once. maybe a spin attack ability with his guns too? but that might be too similar to starlord

he could have the same regen passive as wolverine. if they wanna pull from the comics and 2013 deadpool game, they could give him a teleport ability, and make it work similar to magiks. instead of portals he could just blip a few feet forwards or backwards.

I'd love if they did a small rework on the regen passives, where instead of getting overhealth after almost dying, you get health regen after a couple seconds of not taking damage but only to a certain point? like if you are below half health you regen up to 3/4ths or 2/3rds of your health. I don't play wolverine at all so idk how good his regen passive is and if it would actually need this or not I just think it'd be neat and fit with the character(s) more.

for deadpools ultimate, I actually don't have any ideas. I think something like his one move in umvc3 where he grabs his own health bar and beats the shit out of his opponent with it would be sick as hell but idk how they would implement something like that.

and if/when they add him, I guarantee that his default recolor will be his grey suit/x-force suit. I think they'll go with a comic inspired design for him, that way they can give him a movie specific skin to go along with the mcu skins. I need them to do a skin with him in heels as well

I need him in this game so badly... he needs to be voiced by nolan north (the goat) and have an interaction with rocket on how they sound so similar.

i have another post planned but right now i need to talk about this and share it

ive been reading deadpools first solo comic and i cant stop thinking about the whole thing with siryn and dr killbrew....

the absolute agony wade must've been in through that whole thing

being faced with the man who tricked you at your lowest, tortured you, disfigured you to the point people scream just at the mere sight of your face, made you into an unrecognizable monster to loved ones, broke your mind even more then it was before, feeling all that rage and resentment. wanting nothing more then to put a bullet in his brain, a merciful act compared to what he did to you.

and the one person who makes you truly happy despite the hell you go through everyday living with what you've become starts trying to convince you to spare him.

the way that he snapped at siryn during that.. and her refusing to leave, saying if he was gonna do it he was gonna do it in front of her. oh my godddd

and then he actually spares him. because he decided the love between him and siryn was worth letting his abuser live.

im gonna be honest, i was so conflicted during this. i wanted him to kill killbrew so bad but i recognize how important it was for him to not do it and how difficult it was for him.

i have so many thoughts on these comics...... ill share them all eventually (especially my thoughts on the whole thing with typhoid mary.. im her #1 hater)

been struggling with how to start this blog off, since i have so many thoughts on deadpool as a character and everything with him in it...

but what better way to start of a deadpool focused blog then with a bang? my possibly hot takes on how the deadpool movies portrayed deadpool

NOW, don't get me wrong. i LOVE the movies. ryan reynolds is an amazing deadpool, it looks great, the stories are decently solid, overall casting is fantastic, funny, but also sad, and just overall a good experience for all three.

but, with everything good, comes the "bad" (they are more pet peeves then actual bad things).

in the movies, they washed his character down to be more palatable for wider audiences. in the comics, wade is so much more erratic, hyper, depressed, and an INCREDIBLY complex character. hes NOT a good person, but hes not a bad person either. he's the definition of morally grey. he does too much good to be bad, but too much bad to be good. one of his biggest internal struggles is with this fact. adding onto his already existing mental illness struggles.

in the movies, he feels a lot more 2D. he's still a complex character, but for the big screen they watered him down and made him more of a tragic hero. someone who is deep down a good person but makes mistakes and thinks of themselves as a bad person. i understand why they did this, to make him more of the relatable type that people tend to crave out of protags.

but to me, thats not deadpool. thats not wade w. wilson. i love that deadpool is morally grey, not good nor bad. it makes him more interesting, more complex, adds onto his struggle which makes for good stories.

deadpool is so special to me, even if he's not as widely relatable (in the comics at least) of a character as spider-man or anyone else is, i see a lot of myself in him.

i'll post more rants in the future! especially about the movies cuz this is just one of my peeves with them lol
