Choose the sandal, ladies.
Tumblr media
The new Barbie film makes light of a serious topic within women's lives:
👠 Accept the traditional role of femininity and remain in ignorance of the dehumanization it perpetuates
OR
🩴 Become enlightened to oppressive rituals society conditions females into to assume such a role
Most women choose the former. Be the enlightened woman! Choose the sandal.

How will we come back from this?
The FDA has approved affordable at-home laser hair removal products for permanent hairless bodies.
Not only is being a hairless human more promoted than ever, it's more accessible than ever.
So much for aiming to re-humanize the female body. This ped*philia is right in front of everyone's eyes and women still partake in it, voluntarily self-objectifying and infantilizing full grown womanhood. What can even be done to combat this form of body hate and normalized misogyny when it is a permanent form of it?

News Flash 💁🏻
You never wear makeup for yourself. Never. Even when you apply it in the bathroom just for fun and wash it off without being seen. You’ve simply engaged in a ritual taught and influenced by society. Nobody naturally applies makeup without being conditioned to do so.
You are merely doing the patriarchy’s bidding and celebrating it.

Progress = Any woman can be objectified!
Women with Down syndrome have traded one form of dehumanization for another. Forget being treated equally in the workplace, or being considered human. If you have breasts and an ass, put on some lingerie and heels and we’ll treat you just like any other woman! Aka, a sex object.  First Victoria's Secret Model With Down Syndrome Says "We Have No Limits!"

Probably because you're meant to teach, not find a partner..
Tumblr media
Women wear tight clothes for the male gaze. Tight clothes are so uncomfortable, which is why when she wants to lounge around I can guarantee she has on a baggy shirt and sweats, no makeup, and hair tied up. That's my look on the daily (and why I cut all my hair off) because I value my comfort over others'. That's how every person should live and is how the majority of males live. Women only don't because we're drilled this idea that beauty/performativity is the most important part of womanhood. So if a teacher is dressed for the male gaze, she's giving the idea she's not concerned with teaching. All women who wear the femininity costume are, whether they want a man or not. The "butch" style is honestly just prioritizing comfort--loose button up, "men's" pants (roomy pants with pockets), flat shoes (not heels), no makeup, short hair. I wish every woman would treat themselves like a human and not an object.
Also, what is with teachers talking about anything but their subject? I get that students are curious, but teachers really should stay on the curriculum. Talk about your professional journey to build rapport.

What you fail to see is that the purpose for wearing such uncomfortable and nonsensical items is objectification. Beauty is not a choice, because women are expected to perform femininity. It makes us subhuman, makes us shamed/not allowed to be in our natural comfortable state, and puts us in danger. Telling women not to participate in harmful practices is not the same as restricting freedoms, because it is for the betterment of women as a sex class and of course for your own individual good. Heels are damaging to the body--the feet, the spine, blood circulation, etc. All for the male gaze? Absolutely unfeminist.
Tumblr media
High heels are inhibiting, not empowering.
Choosing comfort is real self love. Refusing to self-objectify yourself for the male gaze is real self respect.

Upper class women using surrogacy when they can have children do not want to “ruin” their bodies, so they put their egg in another woman instead. They see themselves as worth more than the poor women dependent on the sum of money they’re going to put out for carrying and birthing their child. That is what I am talking about, how beauty is propelling wealthy women into opting for surrogacy.
I’m literally just repeating myself lol. Did you not read my post?
Beauty culture is contributing to the surrogacy industry.
More and more wealthy women indulged in beauty culture are considering surrogacy their only option for childbearing. These are women who want to be mothers, want to have biological offspring, but don’t want to “ruin their bodies”. Instead, they’d pay to have IVF done with a surrogate mother as the baby machine.
Why is this so normalized? Women dehumanize our own! Beauty indulgers regard their bodies as decor, hoping the poorer women won’t hold as much value to their bodies/lives in exchange for a sum if money.

The Fetishization of Females
You might not even realize it because of how deep normalized misogyny runs through society, training us to laugh it off or not even notice it, but the way women are fetishized for every little part of our body, characteristics, traits, etc. is seriously disturbing.
Tumblr media
Are fetishists making silicone models of men’s feet and selling/buying them for hundreds? Men are never subjected to such blatant exploitation, whereas women must always protect ourselves from it. Hide your feet in photos you post publicly. Cover your nipples with padding so men don’t drool if they poke through your shirt. Be careful how you tie your hair up in a pony or you may just be asking for it. All our natural, comfortable behavior is corrupted and invaded by the knowledge of how men will fetishize and interpret it.

Your natural marks aren't "flaws"
I think stretch marks are the coolest looking natural phenomenon that a person can have on their body. Scars are very cool as well, and birth marks are especially awesome. Even cellulite is nice to see, as it's refreshing to know someone isn't trying everything they can to hide it. These are all natural body traits that I think is ridiculous to consider flaws. They're so stunning to me. Y'all should cherish these proud markers of being a human.

How drag is offensive to women.
"Drag" is a subculture homosexual men feel entitled to engaging in, believing femininity is liberating from the hold toxic masculinity has on men. To women, however, drag is an expression of oppressive and dehumanizing tactics placed on us by patriarchy.
Drag is the performance of stereotypical traits associated with women. For starters, the men are referred to as "queens", a term regarded for women of royalty. The men also give themselves female personas, pronouns, and titles. Drag queens are "ladies", and are "she" not "he". They must perform femininity: strip themselves of body hair, wear high heels, wear skirts or dresses, have padded breasts, and over-the-top makeup. Their personalities are most of the time silly, dumb, clumsy, and comedic. In a word, drag is mockery. The mockery of women.
What this does for actual adult human females is become associated with these stereotypes indefinitely. If woman = femininity, non-feminine people = not women. It also implies womanhood is a costume, a feeling, an act, that you may dress up as and become. These offensive qualities are effectively stripping women of our humanity.
Thanks to drag, "woman" is a joke.

I wish I had a picture of unshaven legs for this graphic, you’re right. Thankfully we can pretend there is leg hair on the front and just translucent hair on the back of legs, like many white women have haha.
I do not support body modification for aesthetic purposes of any kind, especially dehumanizing practices for women like hair removal.
