Portrait commission for a couple good sweets. They saw me open for Joe Pera last year, found my art, and decided I should put their faces on wood.

Poster art for Ed Larson and Dan Becker’s new live show. We decided to channel Ralph Steadman for the general feel of it, which is always a TREAT. I wasn’t sure how it would go starting with physical inking and scanning it all in on my shitty scanner, but it came out delightfully. I am full of delight!

Been working in a preschool. Every day I ask one of my kids what to draw during nap time. I’ve gone through both classes twice now, about seventy drawings. It’s the best practice I’ve ever had.

Album art for the first The Story Must Be Told EP! Also helped produce it, which was a joy. We have so many tracks to choose from, expect more albums in short order.

Some recent merch designs. Two shirts and two stickers. Which is which? I bet you know the answer, because you’re capable and strong.

Poster for my live shows this year. Doing another one in Madison later this summer. The inspiration was, “ok what if my hair could drip?”

This year’s holiday card for Whirled, an LA advertising studio. Third year I’ve done this for them, and they get better every year.

Drew this up for comedian Sureni Weerasekera for her NYCF show. She gave me full license to go weird and borderline grotesque, wanted something similar to my The Story Must Be Told poster. For motifs, she wanted curry leaves, an old Buddhist temple step (the half circle at the top) and a yakka demon mask from Sinhalese folklore. I said YES. It was a dang delight and I’m pretty thrilled with how it came out.

It’s really nice when someone asks you to do what you enjoy doing already. My friend Dean liked the style of my recent work, wanted something in the same vein. It’s a fun challenge to stretch outside your comfort, but it’s also a treat to just do the stuff that’s been motivating you.
Had a very dry couple months in terms of work, and got a random influx of a few commissions that really scratch all my art itches. Excited to share the next few.

Comic I illustrated for We Move Mountains With Spoons, written by Brandon Robles. That first panel is just the best.

Made a nice lil poster of my OWN FACE for the show I did and it looked real neat when it got printed up big. I’ve never seen my face bigger than my face and it was really rewarding.
