May Book Club
Welcome back to our somewhat, sometimes monthly book club! As April held both (inter)national quizbowl competitions, we decided to postpone last month’s meeting to allow everyone to recover from Rein’s spectacular performances. But not to fear! As we alluded to in March, we’ll be covering W.M. Monham’s Multivariable Control: A Geometric Approach. Happy reading!

Happy belated birthday to Rein!
It’s been a bit busy here on our end, but that’s no excuse for letting Rein Day pass without a mention! Twenty-five (25) years ago, on a March 20th much like this March 20th, Rein Otsason came into the world. Coincidentally, the last quarter-century has represented one of the most productive periods in human history in terms of technological advancement, engineering prowess, good quizbowl, and health outcomes. Thanks Otsason.

Last week, Rein submitted his first manuscript to the I.E.E.E. Conference on Decision and Control! It is a bit beyond our understanding - as is everything Rein does - but, knowing Rein, it will surely be accepted without any problems. Congratulations, Rein!
