Something that really grinds my gears about many ‘what music do the Yellowjackets like’ posts…

Is that people will look at this textbook 90s Fly Girl Taissa Turner

And say she

1. Likes no music (absurd, Van could never have a crush on someone who doesn’t like music no matter how hot they are.)

2. Only listens to classical music.

3. Only listens to white artists.

Like come onnnn, y’all. Taissa would have the best taste in music.

Like Van most likely didn’t see the same thing tai saw, she probably saw the actual mascot and thought that it was what Tai is scared about so she went along with it. Plus we don’t see the commercial from her perspective…only tai’s so…

I feel like starting an urban legend about a demon that kills you if you don't have headphones on when browsing tiktok in public

I just love butcherqueen. and I love that I love it in a completely different way to taivan or lottienat or jackieshauna etc like these are all ships that either did or could feasibly materialise in a no-crash scenario. whereas for me butcherqueen is about everything that happened to Lottie and Shauna post-crash. I love the parallels in their stories; the losses they’ve both endured, the emotional burdens they let the others place on them, and the resulting rejection it breeds from the others. The isolation, mental instability, and psychosis. There is something so darkly romantic about folie à deux, a madness shared by two. and I don't even want them to be a “couple”, that's not the draw for me. I want them blurring the lines, messy, co-dependent, interconnected, enabling each other, and vulnerable exclusively with each other purely because they silently recognise they actually have so much in common. And then for that to be ripped away by rescue… It would make Shauna’s reaction to Lottie’s death, her obvious empathy for and understanding of Lottie, and by extension Lottie’s father, hit even harder.

This isn't a fashion question but its a question I need to know

Does Callie even have a motif? A made a whole post abt her been a butterfly 🦋 but I don't even know if she has one

Not all the characters have animal motifs but I definitely think there’s basis to the argument that Callie’s is a butterfly.

The majority of butterfly pieces she wears are jewelry though (not something more obvious like t shirts) so theres more subtlety with the motif.

I know the fandom has a lot of associations of butterflies to Jackie and Shauna but statistically Callie actually wears more pieces featuring butterflies than either of them. I think that’s interesting though as to some extent Callie is a mix of Shauna and Jackie. In the season 1 one of the scripts mentions that Callie reminds Shauna of Jackie but then as seasons go on she becomes more like Shauna or at least fears she is becoming more like her. Both the costume designers for the show have talked about dressing Callie in clothing reminiscent to Jackie’s so I think it’s likely the association with butterflies is intentional (as least to the extent of maybe connecting the two).

In an interview with Fashionista Marie Schley said that teen Jackie and Shauna’s butterfly shirts were picked due to the popularity of similar shirts in the 90s but also because it ties the girls to the wilderness with it’s “natural themes.” Could the butterfly motif on Callie be connecting her not only to Shauna and Jackie but to also connecting her to the Wilderness itself? Does the hint of butterflies in her wardrobe show that somehow on some minute level she carries a piece of the Wilderness with her?

Callie’s association with butterflies is definitely an interesting one and something that will be cool to see continue throughout the rest of the show!

Lottieshauna next season could be so fascinating. Like Lottie being Shauna's biggest enabler but also really the only person we've seen Shauna be honest and vulnerable with. And since the breakdown of her and Melissa's relationship, Shauna doesn't really have anyone else... and Lottie's lost both her acolytes too in Travis and Akilah. Like Shauna and Lottie are going into season 4 with only each other and their ghosts. I'm excited.

My one friend really likes "yo mama" jokes, but she feels bad for saying them to me because my mama's dead, and lately she's been circumventing this by adding "in heaven" to them, a concept I was introduced to with zero warning via a text that said, "Yo mama's so stupid she's in heaven pre-heating the microwave."
