"...but the brat belongs to me." wasn't just a statement to get avery off his high-horse, it was fact - every word of it.

originally, he was gonna keep his promise - of letting you go after you've paid off all the debt you've accumulated over the several years you've been under his care but something about you showing up to his apartment with one of his so-called 'buddies', hanging over his arm like some sort of prize kinda rubbed him the wrong way.

...and now, he's thinking of keeping you in the orphanage, your little glass box, forever - like the treasure you are, a treasure he had failed to see the value of till that day.

not out of love, hell, not even out of lust but a possession like no other, a pride of knowing he might be holding the source of desire for many. he doesn't really care about you per say - if you threw yourself on the street, slept with every single breathing creature out there - as long as you returned to him... he's content.

...because without him you wouldn't have had a home to grow up in, wouldn't have gotten the education you needed, wouldn't have been able to make yourself who you were today.

he gave you a purpose.

so why don't you be a good brat and sign the contract... and maybe if you're extra obedient, he'll increase your share of the orphanage's revenue by another two percent.

do you think caleb was ever asked about what his type was?

nearing valentine's day during high school, surrounded by his friends as the class were chatting away about how many chocolates they would get or who they would give chocolates to. one of his pals pipping up with a sigh, his arm finding itself slack against caleb's shoulder, betting caleb would win the 'most chocolates received' title again for what... the forth time in a row?

rolling his eyes, caleb brushes him off, the most unimpressed look on his face as he deflected his friend's prediction while the others laughed at the childish display but their little dispute was loud enough to peek the attention of some of the ears in the room... specifically the girls sitting not far from the group.

"actually... what is your type, caleb? you always seem to reject everyone that goes for you... why is that? are you really picky?"

the silence that followed said question was enough to make caleb's smile falter... was everyone really that interested in what he liked in a person?

"oh, well... i can't really say i have a type per say; you could say i'm just waiting for the one to show up,"

was all he could muster, sweat dripping down his temples as he prayed to the gods for a distraction, a disturbance, anything that would get him out of this situation.

...and it seemed to have worked.

all of sudden the door to the class slides open, revealing an annoyed you; your school bag already slung over your shoulder; anxiously wanting to head back home already. "there you are, i was waiting outside the gate for 15 minutes- come on, grandma's gonna get even more worried if we're any more late!"

"woah! alright, pipsqueak. i'm coming, i'm coming- no need to drag me by the tie like that~"

without a second's notice, caleb was gone, not before he bid a quick goodbye to his friends and the rest of his peers. the once quiet room returned back to it's usual chatty state, with some of his classmates groaning in disappointment at his lackluster response that had created more questions than answers; but, his mates were unfazed, their narrow gazes lingering on the exact doorway caleb had escaped from.

"...sis-con..."

do you think little zayne had ever confided in little caleb about his feelings for you back in the day?

studious little zayne, not knowing what to do with the butterflies fluttering in his stomach whenever he’d come over to play with you (and caleb).

he’d keep to himself (of course), trying hard not to draw attention to his internal turmoil, but ol’ caleb could see right through his nonchalance—basically bugging and teasing him till zayne broke and spilled everything.

only for caleb to let out a chuckle, give him a firm slap on the back, and hold out a thumbs-up, saying 'you got this' with that usual cheeky smile of his. but in reality, caleb was anything but happy about the confession; zayne was like a brother to him, but he doesn't know if he enjoys the idea of you leaving him for... him.

caleb is the type to reluctantly willingly keep yours and his relationship a secret if you request it—of course, he ain't going down without a bit of a fight but you know how eager he is to please you.

but so help him if anyone asks him about it when you ain't around or god forbid vaguely hinting at their interest in you; 'cause like a waterfall; this man would spill so much that it's so clear it ain't just a slip of the mind.

it's only when words get to you does he start trailing behind you like the puppy he is, sweetly begging for your forgiveness, trying so desperately to hide that shit-eating grin on that stupid face of his ('cause both you and he knows that your guys' secret was bound to be found anyways).

caleb: oh come onnn, pipsqueak. i really didn't mean to, it just slipped my mind, i promise it won't happen again. pleaseee, i'm sorry!

you: …you and i both know you aren't.

zayne dressing up as a snowman one time on christmas day to surprise the kids staying at the hospital—playing 'santa' and giving them gifts.

the hospital loving it so much that they made it an annual thing with its own little session where in the lobby of the hospital, zayne would be set up alongside standees and decoration; where kids get to speak of their wishes and play with him.

the festive cheer and laughter slowly dies as evening nears. zayne, underneath all that cushioned fluff, let out an almost silent sigh; but just as he was about to take off the head of his costume a familiar voice reaches his ears.

"mr. snowman, i liked to share a wish too... is that okay?"

a soft smile spreads on his lips as he lowers his nub-like hands. He nods.

"there's this person... who I like very very much; who spent his whole day today, making other people happy, and neglecting himself. i wish... to make him happy, just as much as he makes me... do you know what can make him happy, mr. snowman?"

rustle, rustle.

smooth nub hands gently pry the large, round head off of its even rounder body, revealing a zayne; slightly out of breath, face shimmering underneath the hospital's fluorescent lights.

"...i don't think i do..." he gestures you closer, nudging a nubby hand your way to hold in your own.

"...but one thing is certain... you are apart of the equation for his happiness..."

warm lips softly presses against yours, savouring the faint sweetness of candy-cane...

idia saying your name instead of the ghost bride's when he was forced asked to practice for their ceremonial vows, thinking it will annoy her. ...and to an extent it does. only for it to quickly backfire due to her love for him 'having no bounds', saying how he's probably just very nervous about their union, but don't worry she is very patient.

ghost bride: let us try again, shall we...? i'll go even slower this time, from the top, e-li-za...~

ghost bride: in...correct... dear... how are we suppose to get to my second name if you can't even say my first~

kylar snapping at you for not reciprocating his affection after he kidnapped you.

hands shakily clutching at your collar and shoving your face against his as he chews you out, days of pent up restlessness spilling over like a knocked over glass.

"why don't you get it? i'm doing this because I LOVE YOU - me feeding you, loving you... THIS IS ALL FOR YOU! AM I NOT ENOUGH? or... are you just that greedy, you fucking s-"

emerald eyes widened before he could even mutter that insensitive slur to your face. no... no, no, no- he could never, he would never describe you with such a phrase, you were above it, you were above it all. how could he ever make the mistake of ever referring you to such?

"...i'm sorry... sorry... sorry- sorrysorrysorry-"

cheeks stained with tears as he weeps into the crooks of your shoulder, hands long released your collar from his grasp, now frail arms were wrapped around your neck as he mumbled incoherent apologies, oblivious to the obvious struggle you were putting up while still being strapped to the creaky old wooden chair.

cracked lips trailed light, fluttery kisses along your nape, fingers tracing circles around your back as he sighed.

"i'm so sorry, angel... i didn't know what got over me... i didn't mean to say those things to you... i didn't mean any of it... i understand, you're still new to all this... i get it... i should be more patient... thanks for teaching me that... i promise i'll try better next time... so, forgive me... please...?"

Continuing the story of Cheetah!reader.

Cheetahs are solitary animals but they are great parents. Reader unconsciously regards Yuu and Grim as their children. When he saw Grim and Reader covered in scratches and dirt from the Principal's missions, Reader gave them a light kiss on the cheek, and Yuu and Grim were instantly clean and all the scratches on their bodies disappeared. It was the "Healing Kiss" magic, Reader's mother said that this magic can only be used on family, and Reader regards Grim and Yuu as family. Part of it is because Yuu and Grim are lonely, and part of it is because Reader also wants a family but that goes against the cheetah's independent nature as they would be forced to cut off contact with their family when they reach adulthood, but what if the family members were of another species?

Readers are still learning about humans so there are many things they cannot understand.

Reader: Shouldn't it? Turns out it's because of that problem. Humans are so full of troubles. *Finally sat in the library reading books on human psychology*

Reader is quite polite and gentle, not calculating, something considered unreasonable by Savanaclaw members.

also to why you are more loved by (most of) the freshmen compared to... everyone else in the dorm. just something about you and your sweet nature just touches the hearts of the newbies you've been lumped into while simultaneously confusing the rest of the beastmen in savanaclaw. as the found-family thing... i can imagine you picking up anyone (mostly the freshmen: ace, deuce those boys) to be part of your band of non-beastmen family, just adopting people left and right like that oprah meme.

reader: "you're adopted, you're adopted, everyone's adopted!"

I think of cheetahs! Reader. They like to run and stalk people to scare them and run away. Reader is small in size and doesn't mind if someone teases them about it, but don't underestimate Reader's punches, kicks, and speed. Savanaclaw is definitely worth watching out for around Reader. Reader initially goes it alone because of their cheetah nature but as thegets to know the freshmen, Reader starts spending a lot of time with them, mostly because the freshmen antics are quite funny.

If there are any mistakes, please forgive me because English is not my first language.

awww, and how you and jack would probably be bffs as well as rivals in the track and field club because you would always manage to beat him by quite big margins. it gets on his nerves but that too makes him determined to work harder to try and beat you one day.

you being all buddy buddy with all of savanaclaw's freshmen would also catch the attention of leona, who before this, didn't even know of your existence. he's tempted to employ you to be the ambassador of the freshmen so he doesn't have to do as much work.

ruggie on the other hand would definitely try to be all buddy buddy with you after hearing about you from the other members of the dorm. his head filled ways he could use your influence on the freshmen for his own personal benefit.

sylus would know the most random of things about you, things that hold no significance; but, makes your heart flutter whenever he remembers said thing you had told him on some off-shoot day or corrects said thing/person at anything he knows the detail of.

how you like your steak done, the temperature at which you enjoy your bath…

he very much has an "acts of service" vibe. what can he say, he loves spoiling his royal highness and he'll make sure every little detail is down to a-T. it doesn't matter if the request or the task's entirety is tedious, if he's going to pamper his darling… he's either going big or going home.

but he always does them in secret, acting as if he hadn't just set the dinning table just the way you had dreamed of in that little romance novel you've been reading recently or how got the bed a thicker blanket after a little tangent on your air conditioning being colder that you would have liked

don't even try to interrogate him on it, he'd give you nothing but a gentle flick to the forehead before strutting away with a subtle smile grazing upon his lips.

Actually I thought about Reader using cat form to beg. It's quite funny, what do you think about the others. I think Trey, Kalim, Silver, Idia and Ortho would probably give them food.

oh, definitely—

trey and silver would do their best to scout their kitchenettes for anything suitable for a cat's consumption, but if they can't find anything, they'll just give you a sad smile (and some head pats) as an apology.

kalim and ortho would both go out of their way to find something for you to eat. kalim would scramble around, offering you everything the dorm's kitchenette has, only for jamil to shut it down because none of the things the poor boy had gathered were edible for a little kitty.

ortho would first look up what a cat like you could eat, internally scan the kitchen, and if he couldn't find anything, he'd bring you over to idia and ask to be taken to sam's shop.

idia always has some snacks on him for some reason, so he's well-prepared if you come begging for food.

they're also some others who would give into your little pleads, like:

jack, deuce, epel... (just to name a few)

real- malleus would be having a silent panic attack in the corner. lilia would be slightly concerned but also very excited. silver is just the window's crash screen. and sebek will be fanning away at the smoke literally coming out of malleus' head all the while screaming about how he's gonna kill the bastard for taking what was reserved for his liege.

Grim asks Reader to reward him for being good all week. But the money to buy canned tuna for Grim is gone. Reader doesn't know what to do.

Reader transformed into a cat and sat in front of the teacher's room. They pretended to be normal cats and meowed for food. Luckily Trein gave them a can of tuna. Hopefully Lucius didn't see it because cats are very territorial.

Trein definitely took the top spot as Reader's favorite teacher.

I'm pretty sure everyone who has siblings like Grim has wanted to throw them away at some point.

definitely... but with how siblings are, you just need some leverage over them...
