Tell me why there's so many Hilson fics (as there should be) but next to none retconing Kutners death.

THERES SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

House calls him that morning to bitch him out for missing work being his whiney usual self. It's enough to shake him out of it and say hey yeah I can wait a few hours. Only he goes to work and feels okay.

He sees what happens between the couple, how she tried to kill herself for her husband. Has a noticeable reaction and House clocks it.

Kutner just breaks. Starts letting it all out. House gets visibly effected by it. They strike a GOOD friendship. Wilson even starts to get a little jealous. Together they dig through everything. Kutners problems and Houses baggage. House even comes to terms with being in love with Wilson.

We get told time and time again that House and Kutner are different sides of the same coin. So why don't we have fanfic of it. I just want them to be bffs.

Any writing tips? Especially for those who want to write longer

practice!! read long stuff. include b- and sub-plots. develop your side characters. include relationships other than the romantic one you're writing about (i'm assuming, if you're writing fic, or the most popular kind of fic). what are the important aspects of your protag's life? write about more of them. include flashbacks. build out the world of the story. the more you'll do it the more you'll get an instinct for how to compose stories from the beginning to be more substantial (and it'll get easier to sit down and do it too)
